Description:Residence Celeste Uno is a romantic studio apartment perfect for two. It is 25 square meters (270 square feet), and it has a nice terrace of 10 square meters (110 square feet) which offers a beautiful view of the lake and of the shared swimming pool and garden. n nThe apartment has a double bed, located on a mezzanine level, a kitchen and a bathroom. n nThe place n nResidence Celeste was built at the end of the eighteenth century by members of the noble family Brentano- Mezzegra .c2a0 The reason for building the mansion is singular, to say the least.c2a0 Legend has it that the sons of the Count Brentano-Mezzegra, upset with their father during a family feud, erected a new building just in front of the family palace, to block the view of the lake that the Count so much enjoyed. We don 't know how much is history and how much is tale, but something is for sure: the new residence enjoys a spectacular view of the lake, while the imposing building right at its back has been obscured, so to speak. n nThroughout the following centuries the building has been used as a monastery and then as a farmhouse.c2a0 It was an old country residence still in 2001, when it has been restored and divided into nine holiday apartments. n nThe residence is located in the quiet village of Mezzegra, approximately 500 meters (550 yards) from the town center, in an uphill position that offers a wide and charming view of the lake, of the town of Bellagio on the opposite shore, and of the surrounding mountains.c2a0 Mezzegra is a tiny lakeside village, which has a place in history because it 's here that, on April 28th 1945, Benito Mussolini was executed, or assassinated, depending on who tells the story. n nResidence Celeste can be reached by car, or, if you don 't mind a bit of uphill/downhill walking, you will be able to stay at this place and move around by bus and ferry.c2a0 The bus stop is at approximately 500 meters (550 yards) from the villa, and the owners provide a shuttle service to and from the bus stop for a small fee, if requested.c2a0 If you have a car, you will be able to park it on the premises, inside a fenced area. n nThe nine apartments at Residence Celeste are arranged on four floors, and they all share a very nice heated swimming pool of 12 x 5.50 meters (40 xc2a0 18 feet), 1.40 meters (4.6 feet) deep, a solarium equipped with umbrellas and sun beds, and a garden with tables and chairs.c2a0 The swimming pool is open from June 1st until September 15th, from 9 am to 7 pm.c2a0 The residence is also equipped with a sauna (pay-per-use). n nAt the residence you will also find a laundry room, with a washing machine, a dryer, iron and ironing board.c2a0 The washing machine and the dryer are token-operated, and tokens can be bought on the premises. n nA kids ' playground is at approximately 100 meters (110 yards) from the residence, and nearby you will also find a tennis court.c2a0 At 500 meters (550 yards) there is the closest restaurant, a cafe and grocery stores.c2a0 More restaurants, cafes and stores are in the nearby village of Lenno , approximately 1.5 km (1 mile) from Residence Celeste. n nThe apartment n nResidence Celeste Uno is located on the side of the building, and you will reach its independent entrance from the garden, by way of a stairway of 15 steps. n nYou will enter a short corridor, which leads to the kitchen, which is equipped with a table with chairs.c2a0 The first thing you will notice as you enter the apartment is the huge glass door that overlooks the terrace, which will allow you to enjoy a gorgeous view of Lake Como from inside the apartment. n nThe terrace is lovely.c2a0 It is spacious and with a wide view over the lake, the mountains, the garden and the swimming pool.c2a0 It is equipped with a table with chairs, an umbrella and two deck chairs.c2a0 You will have a hard time deciding whether to go out sightseeing, spend your lazy days by the pool or just sit on your private terrace and drink in the views and the atmosphere. n nThe kitchen is equipped with a four-burner cooker, a microwave oven, a small refrigerator with freezer and a dishwasher. Water skiing is also available, and there is an 18-hole golf course 30 minutes away. From Chevrio (a 15-minute drive) you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Como . Several cafes and restaurants, as well as shops, are available in the center of Bellagio (a 5-minute drive or a 20-minute walk). n nBellagio is the most well-known resort of the area, often referred as the pearl of the lake.
