David is incredibly honest on what he is offering you. The apartment is really well located, my girlfriend and I were able to walk to Times Square and Midtown easily. For the other parts of the city, the subway is just right there. The view from the terrace is also great. I didn't expect I could view the Empire State Building every night while going to sleep ! Even though NYC was quite hot during our stay, we had way enough fans in the room to cool it down so we had the exact temperature we needed. The room was a little messy (mainly because of a leak in the roof that has been fixed since) but it was really ok if you know how to manage space. Even though we had tons of luggages, we managed to have a fair space for the two of us. The door to the terrace doesn't close entirely but has a curtain that prevent you from feeling like your in the living room or something. Wasn't a problem for us. The beds can't be move together to make a king, but wasn't too big of an issue for us too! Again, we knew everything before coming as David is very transparent about his offer. Dave was a really nice guy, offering us precious advice, muffins and coffee and we had the time for it. He wasn't intrusive in any way and you'll love his two cats if you like boxing (and if you follow Dave's advice about them!). There's no hidden trick here, Dave is going to tell you everything about the place. And just for the location and the view, this place is definitely worth it! -Clément T Dave was an accommodating host to this Southern gal visiting the Big Apple. He met me across the street from the train station, showed me how to get to his apartment, and helped me get our luggage inside. Coming back late that evening, totally disoriented after being awake for 20-some hours, he answered my frantic phone call when I couldn't remember which building I was supposed to return to, and came out onto the street to find me and lead me home. The apartment is convenient to subways and buses, and is within easy walking distance of Times Square. The Chelsea neighborhood offers lots of places to eat, and interesting shops to explore if you have time. Dave explained the subway system, helped me figure out how to get to the places I needed to go, and also helped me get theater tickets. The terrace room has an incredible view of NYC. I enjoyed seeing the Empire State Building change its colors at night from the terrace windows. And it was the perfect place to watch the Macy's 4th of July fireworks show. The terrace room was roomy enough for two people and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. I was in NYC for the worst of the record-breaking heat wave, and the room with its three walls of glass did get hot. Dave made accommodations that helped get the room temp more comfortable. I understand that he is going to buy additional cooling equipment for the terrace room very soon. I would choose to stay with Dave again on my next visit to NYC. -Janet H The bed is comfortable, the room is large and does have a great view. The accommodation is extremely conveniently located near the red line. David and I had some interesting discussions over breakfast on the occasion and he was willing to help with directions when I needed them. -Chris B David is a wonderful host. Very attentive, generous, connected and present. His apartment have a great location. Chelsea have an excellent neighborhood, and their terrace is huge and with an incredible view. Highly recommended -Clayton R We had a really great time in New York, did a lot of shopping and finally got to see a Broadway Play thanks to david. The weather was really nice so we enjoyed strolling along manhattan's streets.. Dave was a great host., he took really great care of his girls ... The apartment was great, an amazing view of New York skylines.. and the location was perfect to enjoy Manhattan..I'd come back any time. -Nadege G David is a really nice guy and his apartment is in an incredible location should you be planning to explore the city on foot. He is incredibly polite, extremely attentive to your needs and an evening will not go by without him offering you a cold drink or a coffee. His flat is not spotless, but i can assure you that the terrace where you stay is perfectly clean. The cats are not allowed in there which is extremely considerate. The view from the room is second to none too... If you want to stay in an over-priced soulless hotel room, that's your choice. Our clean, safe home is nestled conveniently between the Red line train (which operates 24/7) and Brown line Addison EL city train stops. The Paulina brown line station is just a few short blocks along with the Southport and Addison brown line stations within 10 minutes walking distance. The 9 (North and South) and the 152 (East and West) bus stops are at each end of our block. About the sites: The speedy train will have you to the steps of all area sites within minutes, such as Michigan Avenue known as Magnificent Mile for the shoppers, The Arts Institute for the largest Monet collection in the world, Museum Campus for those who wish to explore the Shedd Aquarium, Field and Science and Adler Planetarium. Or if your wish is to wander Navy Pier for the 15 story Ferris Wheel and Shakespeare Theater or take in the beauty of Lake Shore Drive and the miles of lakefront bike paths, this is it. Visit other conveniently located neighborhoods. Description:The Villa is a privately owned 3 bedroom modern minimalist style villa located in the heart of Seminyak just behind the renowned Oberoi Hotel in Bali and just minutes away from the beach. It will take you only around 20 minutes to travel from ad to the international airport, a couple of minutes to the tourist Mecca of Legian/Kuta and only 20 minutes from the island's pre-eminent signature golf course, the Nirwana Bali Golf Course. The golf course perhaps boasts the most beautiful location of any golf course in the world and has recently been voted one of world's top ten golf courses.DescriptionIn a developing area of Bali in Seminyak, in the south of the island, the Singaporean owner of a plot of land wanted a holiday property that was open, convenient to live in, and yet maintained some references to traditional Balinese dwellings (though not at One of the bedrooms seen from its small courtyard garden, planted with Bird of Paradise plants (Strelitzia reginae).The garden, which can be entered through sliding glass doors, connects the bedroom to the bathroom. The same bedroom is seen from its entrance. A full-height sliding door that can open the room fully to the rest of the compound. The living shelter is in the background. The bathroom of another bedroom seen from its courtyard garden, open-air bathing is another Balinese tradition that suits the climate. A mirror running the entire width of the bathroom enhances its open, natural aspect.The bedrooms and the TV/Study room are fully air-conditioned. The master bedroom offers a Chinese style antique bed with en-suite bathroom and the both guest rooms offer double bed bedrooms with private bathrooms. All rooms have a view to towards the pool and the large open lawn shaded with tall swaying coconut trees.Villa Coco Groove has its own in-ground pool tiled with beautiful natural green color stone tiles. Behind the pool overlooking the entire property is a Balinese bale just perfect for those afternoon naps. Alternatively you can just laze beside the pool on one of the outdoor lounges. This house, completed in 2004 and with a total built-up area of 550 square meters, was conceived as a series of bales (the Balinese version of a gazebo) linked by a covered walkway and orientated to take advantage of the prevailing winds, using large cantilevered overhangs and plated pergolas for shade and protection from rain. By adapting the arrangement of a traditional Bali home, the architect was able to satisfy the client’s wish to keep the guest quarters separate, and these were located in a line extending from the corner housing the kitchen, service quarters and garage.The living shelter followed by the master room extends from this corner at a right angle, while the house temple was placed facing the sacred mountain Gunung Agung in the opposite corner of the compound. One entire wall of the compound is lined by plantings of small trees. The water connects the living area at firth with the bathrooms that adjoin the master and second bedrooms.The focus of the house is the living shelter, roofed but open on three sides. In the centre of this is the sunken seating area, into which steps lead down from two opposite corner. Early morning sunlight streams into the living shelter (overleaf), with its dining table at left. This home has 4 levels, the Penthouse level and the main level (A) which are one apartment, the middle level (B) which is its own apartment and the garden level (C) also its own apartment.The Penthouse level, accessed by 3 flights stairs, offers two enormous rooms.On the East side of the home, is the Master Suite with Master Bath. It offers a King Size Sleep Number bed, steam shower and private entrance from the Sky Deck. You can see why it is our primary occupancy and why we rent it only on occasion :)On the West side of the Penthouse level is an enormous room without shared walls for maximum privacy. This also offers an equally grand full size bathroom located just outside the bedroom door creating an environment that is nearly a Master Suite in its own right. This room can provide accommodations in a mix of real beds and air mattresses.The Main level (A)-The front door staircase leads to a sizable living room with our brand new leather Lazy boy reclining sofa, leather chair and ottoman and new 46 flat screen tv w/cable.Conveniently located on this level is also a spacious full size bathroom with stand- up walk in shower. The enormous eat in kitchen seats 4 to 5 persons at the counter and another 6 to 8 at the dining table. There is a deck off of the kitchen that can seat another 4 to 5 persons.Sleeping accommodations on the main level consist of a large room with a mix of either real beds or air mattresses and a flat screen cable tv. There is also a semi private alcove off of the living room blocked off by privacy screens.Both the Main and Penthouse levels have had the most up to date conveniences to include a stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher and central heat and air conditioning.Apartment B-This apartment, accessed by only one flight of stairs, has the perfect arrangement for groups wishing to have a more private stay. For example, we welcome families with well-behaved children and mature, respectful adults and students.The amenities include a large living room with brand new flat screen tv, sectional sofa, an enormous eat in kitchen with a modern bar height table and island kitchen counter with bar stool seating. There is a deck just off of the kitchen to have your morning coffee. A/C window units keep the space cool and comfortable in the summer and central heat keeps it cozy in the winter.There is one enormous bedroom which has a unique and comfy loft style bed (grown up bunk bed) and a 2nd cozy bedroom. Mr. Bascarene, the current owner is running it as a B&B till he can pass it on to his children. He is a quiet, soft-spoken person but extremely thoughtful and helpful beyond the call of duty.On a quiet leafy street of the French Quarter, it is well maintained and furnished with lovely furniture and linen making each room a very attractive space. Originally a single storey house, the first floor has been added in keeping with its heritage character. The entrance area of the house has a tiny foyer with an antique roll top desk. This takes you to a living room and the two bedrooms that lead off it. The living room has plenty of seating and is a comfortable place to relax. A staircase takes you up to the breakfast room, another large area with large French windows letting in sunshine. There are three small café-style tables with chairs. Two doors from this area lead to two guest rooms. There’s a fifth room on the terrace, which is perfect for single occupants or long stay guests. All the rooms have ensuite bathrooms that have been renovated with modern amenities. The villa has been in the family of the first Chief Minister of independent Pondicherry for four generations. A quirky feature of this villa is the numerous traditional artifacts of the region displayed around the house. The lady of the house loves them and can’t resist adding them to her collection when she chances on pretty pieces. Mr. Bascarene, the current owner is running it as a B&B till he can pass it on to his children. He is a quiet, soft-spoken person but extremely thoughtful and helpful beyond the call of duty.On a quiet leafy street of the French Quarter, it is well maintained and furnished with lovely furniture and linen making each room a very attractive space. Originally a single storey house, the first floor has been added in keeping with its heritage character. The entrance area of the house has a tiny foyer with an antique roll top desk. This takes you to a living room and the two bedrooms that lead off it. The living room has plenty of seating and is a comfortable place to relax. A staircase takes you up to the breakfast room, another large area with large French windows letting in sunshine. There are three small café-style tables with chairs. Two doors from this area lead to two guest rooms. There’s a fifth room on the terrace, which is perfect for single occupants or long stay guests. All the rooms have ensuite bathrooms that have been renovated with modern amenities. Breakfast is served in the continental style and is delicious with freshly baked croissants, fresh juice, fruit platter and eggs.
