Constructed exclusively with Mykonian rock, villa Hibiscus is perfectly integrated in the landscape and provides a combination of traditional architecture (50cm-thick stonewalls, wooden pergolas, stone-built sofas and tables) with modern amenities and elegant decoration. The villa is built in three levels. In the ground level there is a spacious sitting area with fireplace, dining area for seven guests, as well as an open plan kitchen, fully equipped with modern appliances. The sitting area directly accesses the veranda and garden. The upper level features two bedrooms: one master bedroom with en suite bathroom and one twin bedroom with separate bathroom. Both bedrooms have spectacular sea views.The lower level features one double bedroom with en suite bathroom and independent entrance, and one single bedroom with en suite bathroom. Both bedrooms offer front sea views. Air conditioning is provided in all bedrooms and in the living room. The upper level bedrooms also have ceiling fans. The sitting area, elegantly decorated with wooden furniture pieces and handpicked decorative objects, opens up to a large pergola-shaded dining area with stone-built table for eight guests where you can dine al fresco enjoying the sea view. A number of nature preserves and State Parks in the area make for great entertainment for young and old alike. Try an air boat ride, paddling a kayak through mangroves, fishing off one of many piers throughout the region, deep sea fishing with a charter company. All within easy and quick access to our home. For art and history buffs, there are museums and art galleries like the Ford and Edison Winter Estates in our downtown, Fort Myers Art Walk, Shell Factory, the Baily-Matthews Shell Museum to name but a very few. Beaches of Estero (Fort Myers Beach) and Sanibel Islands are great and it costs $2/hr to park there. As the tide goes out, the tidal pools are forming, and you can have fun finding crabs, starfish, minnows, and other creatures in them. The ride (9 miles out and back) is worth the $6.00 to get on the Sanibel's bridge. You can rent a bike on Sanibel and ride on the walkway around the whole Island. There are some good restaurants close by. There are also a number of water parks, miniature golf facilities in close proximity to the house. GOLF - you are able to use some public and some private, but if you are a serious golfer and do not might driving about 30 min, you can find some challenging courses in Naples and Bonita Springs. Also before you get to Ft.Myers Beach there are 2 MINI GOLFs. There are plenty of places to go. You can go to the Bell Tower Mall which has outdoors shoping, several RESTAURANTS and MOVIE THEATRE with 12 MOVIES showing. When you go onto main Road 41 (about 15 minutes drive) you will see all the big RESTAURANTs, BIG STORES and SPECIALTY OUTLET shops. The HOSPITAL is about 15 min away and called Healthpark. A number of nature preserves and State Parks in the area make for great entertainment for young and old alike. Visit Lover's Key for fantastic shells. Try an air boat ride, paddling a kayak through mangroves, fishing off one of many piers throughout the area, deep sea fishing with a charter company. All within short driving distance from our home. For art and history lovers, there are museums and art galleries like the Ford and Edison Winter Estates in the downtown, Fort Myers Art Walk, the Baily-Matthews Shell Museum to name a few. We keep promotional flyers in our home for guests. For baseball fans, the Red Sox call Fort Myers their winter home as do the Minnesota Twins. RED SOX STADIUM is in close driving distance. Every one is friendly and glad to share their stories. Low key resort with a lot of tranquility. Very relaxing and healing. Nice escape from hustle and bustle of every day life. The teeth range in size from one-eighth inch to three inches and may be black, brown, or gray, depending on the type of minerals, deposits, and vegetation in the soil in which they have been buried. To start your own collection, you have to take a walk along the shore and hopefully discover sharks' teeth, for which the beach is famous countrywide. - Stump Pass Beach State Park is #1 attraction in Englewood The main attraction at this park is the beach and the fact that it has a large amount of sharks teeth just waiting to be found. What makes this beach different are the sharks teeth which are washed up on shore. Many locals walk along the shore line collecting sharks teeth. Most of the teeth are small and black and shaped like a Y, however occasionally you will find a really large one, which is a lovely keepsake of the area! They are usually black because they're so old, but sometimes you can find new teeth that are more gray towards the tip. On occasion, if you are there enough and do enough digging, you can uncover some real monster teeth. These are from the ancient Megladon sharks and can be worth a lot of money depending on the size and condition. It only costs $3 for an all-day park pass versus the 75 cents per hour at Englewood Beach just down the road and it shouldn't be hard to fund a spot as most of the tourism happens farther North up at Siesta Key. Great place to fish, lay on the beach and snorkel. Plus you can leave and come back to watch sunset for no extra cost! Overall, real nice place to go and relax on the beach, swim, eat some lunch, and search for sharks teeth for the day. Best value boat rental I found was at Royal Palm Marina where Mike gave us a crash course in watercraft as we'd never boated before, luckily we didn't crash and all was well. Entering the house on the 2nd floor is a comfortable living room with a wood-burning functional fireplace, a dining area with a table that can sit 6-8 people, a fully equipped open kitchen with electric stove top, oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, and coffee maker as well as a small washroom. Through the living room you can exit to the large covered balcony (20m2) with breathtaking views of the Argolis bay. The upper level is the master suite, a chalet-like big loft (40m2) with a queen metal bed, large desk, fully equipped bathroom with shower as well as closets, air-conditioning, TV and DVR. A great bedroom for couples or parents with older kids who can sleep comfortably on their own at the lower floor. The outdoor areas of the house consist of a fully landscaped garden with trees and blooming flowers. There is a large outdoor kiosk-dining area with a table that can accommodate 10 people for dinner made on the brick barbeque a few steps away. There is plenty of room on the garden for children to play and a basketball that can offer hours of fun for everyone –that is if you can stop looking at the overpowering view...
