Kalapana is 20 minutes south, the Hilo airport about 35 to 40 minutes north, Kilauea crater about 45 minutes. We have plenty of county water, which is easily and quickly heated by an on-demand propane water heater. The stove and oven are propane as well, and the electrical is solar. These bedrooms share a bathroom on the second level which is beautifully tiled and houses a $3000.00 electric toilet (!) The guest bedroom is situated on the east side of the house on the lower level and this too has an en suite bathroom. This bedroom opens out on to a gravel pathway that leads to the deck. nThe kitchen is designed with a chef in mind, top of the line appliances, ample storage and an island to allow you to cook and interact with guests as the dining room is accessible to the south and the living area to the west. The property is gated and walled on the north boundary. There is a green chain link fence to the west and the vegetation is so dense to the east as to be impassable. Either way, you and your friends will not forget this vacation. n nI also have 2 tennis racquets (tennis courts on site), 2 beach chairs with an umbrella, 4 sets of snorkel equipment, 2 fishing poles, 2 aluminum Bicycles, a 12 ft. tandem kayak, 3 life jackets, 3 flat screen TVs, a Blu-ray player, a dvd player, a VCR, blazing fast wireless internet, beach towels, reverse osmosis drinking water system, toaster oven, blender, toaster, coffee maker, icemaker, etc. We are also right on a very nice Bike Trail. n nThere is a King Sized Bed in the Master Bedroom with a private Master Bath and 2 twins in the second bedroom. I usually rent from Saturday to Saturday with arrivals at 3:00 PM and departures at 10:00 AM. The calendar does not show half days so it can be a little confusing when looking at Saturdays. n nRental Lic # PLR2012-00009 (I usually rent from Saturday at 3 PM to Saturday at 10 AM. The calendar on flipkey does not give the option of half days so it may look like a Saturday is unavailable when it really is available... Our septic system allows the disposal of tissue paper into the toilet. I 'm mentioning this, because 90% of the accommodations in Costa Rica do not and require disposal into a waste basket. Ick, yuck, belch, eeew, gross. All units feature custom made tropical hardwood furniture, handcrafted by a locally highly sought after furniture maker from Canada. Our quality ceiling fans keep the bedrooms pleasantly cool all day and night. The lower units have very large windows that allow for panoramic views The upper units have French doors that open out to the balconies, where you can sunbathe in privacy during the day and lounge at night in the balmy climate. All units are being cleaned daily and laundry service is available on request. The parklike surroundings delight with many exotic trees and plants. Depending on the season, there is mango, papaya, lemons, grapefruit and other fruit to be feasted on. Stonemasonry stairs lead down to the lower flat part of the estate. That's where two creeks meet and if you follow the one to the north, it will lead you to a waterfall surrounded by steep cliffs that, depending on the season can be a rivulet happily splashing into a small pool, or a torrents deluge of water that often carries tree trunks of various sizes in its wake.... more info >>
