Includes a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and dining and living area. Has it's own entrance and a large screen TV. It's like having your own private cottage. Stay in a country Doctor's century home in rural Ontario, as one of our guests said, “Walking in the door to the Doctor's House is like entering the portal to another era. The décor and attention to detail sweep you back to the feeling and charm of a younger Canada in it's beginnings. The Doctor's House is reallme” with a welcome in every room.” We serve home cooked local organic, where possible, food and cater to special diets such as gluten free, vegetarian, diabetic, etc. Our specialty is Bavarian Pancake made with locally grown and milled flour and served with local maple syrup and a fresh fruit and yogurt cup. We use fresh roasted free trade coffee and a special Earl Grey tea. We are near the best beaches and sunsets in the world, take a walk on trails through the Niagara Escarpment a UNESCO World Biosphere reserve, or if you are more energetic, you can hike the Bruce Trail, which runs along the edge of the escarpment and gives spectacular views of Georgian Bay one of the largest fresh water bays in the world. It is so large most people think of it is a separate lake but it is really part of Lake Huron. If you like waterfalls then we have many that are just a short walk from your car or some that you have to hike to through some very scenic countryside. If wine is your choice, then it might surprise you that we have a number of excellent wineries in our area, but if beer is more to your taste we also have some excellent craft breweries. We are located between Lake Huron and Georgian Bay in the Famous Great Lakes recreation and tourist area. Dive or take a glass-bottom boat cruise in the Fathom Five National Park at Tobermory. Boat cruise to Flower Pot Island where you can tour the lighthouse and hike the island. Hike to the Grotto in the Bruce Peninsula National Park (this is a beautiful cave). We are also near 15 distinctive lighthouses and marine heritage sites, many local markets, great fishing, canoeing, and kayaking in the many rivers and lakes, excellent cycling, museums and several golf courses. In the winter we have some of the best snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and ice fishing. We also have dog sledding in the area. Great place to celebrate special events such as, weddings, family reunions, women's or wellness retreats, special birthdays and anniversaries, etc. For an excellent family activity, we have the EXPLORE THE BRUCE ADVENTURE PASSPORT that sends you to very interesting places in our area. We have a private dock for your boat or jet ski's. The boat launch is adjacent to the property. The property is in a cove and boaters take advantage of the cove's serenity. The interior of the cabin is made of hand cut hemlock wood. Very nice and very clean. We have an enclosed porch and a deck with a picnic table on it. We have park charcoal grills and a fire pit. We are DOG Friendly for a small fee. Amenities Air Conditioning : It gets cool at night but if you want AC we can provide at a fee. Description:Our quaint, antique-filled inn is located in the beautiful Catskills along a year-round river, 1 1/2 hours drive from New York City. Come and stay in a lovely historic house by the river and enjoy the nature and amenities. It is fully equipped for a nice vacation with lots to do in the area. Our policy is whether you are 1 guest or more you get the whole house to yourself - you won't share with unknown guests. We have 4 charming rooms and 1 1/2 baths - 2 queens, 1 double and 1 single - which will accommodate up to 7 guests comfortably. There is a queen size airbed with bedding for 2 more. The single is on the first floor and the other three are upstairs. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, cable TV and wifi. In the mornings, enjoy a continental breakfast supplied for you with coffees, teas, cereals, milk & juices. In the summer outside we have a charcoal grill and picnic table for a riverside barbecue and a badminton game set up. Check-in time is 3 pm. If you want to check in before then, please just let us know. Check out time is 12:00 noon. There are many activities for a perfect vacation. We are 20 minutes from Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center. We are 10 minutes from Monticello Casino and Raceway. We are close to the Willowemoc River and Livingston Manor for the best trout fishing ever. Close by is an educational New York State trout hatchery, Hunter Lake for motorboating, for camping and swimming Mongaup Pond State Park and Neversink Reservoir for rowboating and fishing. Other things to do in the area are horseback riding at Bridle Hill Farm or Sonoma Falls where there is also a cider mill & country store, hiking, camping, antiquing, yoga at Just Breathe Yoga, visiting art galleries such as Catskill Art Society and art exhibits at Catskill Artists Gallery and Liberty Art Museum. In wintertime cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. Holiday Mountain is a small family mountain 15 minutes away. Belleayre and Plattekill are 1 hour away for nice downhill skiing.
