Description:Fully furnished, oceanside spacious studio apartment with kitchenette centrally located off the North Shore in Crawl, Hamilton Parish. This new studio enjoys spectacular views of the North Shore and is near restaurants, gas station, supermarket, beaches and situated along a major bus route. Queen size bed, a night stand, a wardrobe and table and chairs for dining with ceiling fan and reverse cycle A/C Cable TV/DVD (telephone and internet pending). The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, sink, fridge, electric stove/oven, cutlery, dishes, pans, iron and ironing board and all linens. BBQ available. Washer and dryer also available for visits of 7 nights or longer ONLY. Cable TV, radio CD player and DVD player available. A list of DVD 's is available for guest viewing. The large and spacious bathroom has lots of storage and a bath tub with shower. Garden has chairs to enjoy the view. Only 20 minutes to Hamilton and 10 minutes from the Airport. Private access to the railway trail for walking or jogging. LANDFALL Cafe 2 minute walk from the house, Bus stop- 30 seconds! SHELLY - BAY MARKETPLACE 15 minute walk (BUS TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED ON SITE) Our new studio is located in a handsome home with all the modern conveniences, located about midway between the city of Hamilton and the town of St. Georges. The owners enjoy having guests who appreciate good furnishings and traditional hospitality. Bus transportation into Hamilton or St. Georges takes 15 minutes on Route 11, one of the island 's most frequent services. The bus stop is a short walk from the house. Mopeds can be rented from a shop called 'Wheels '. Shopping in the neighbourhood includes a supermarket at the Shelly Bay Plaza and a small convenience store at the gas station at the end of Radnor Road. One half mile away there is another convenience store open until midnight. Grocery stores also sell liquor, wines and beer. Dry cleaners, a pizza parlor and a Post Office are nearby. Flatts Village is five minutes away by bus (and is delightful village) with nice places to eat (the Palmetto Bay Hotel is particularly pleasant), gift and other shops, and the Aquarium and Zoo which are well worth a visit. Sports activities include tennis courts (which can be booked at reasonable rates) at Grotto Bay, which is five minutes away by bus. Golfers will enjoy the St. Georges Club and there are numerous public courses. Hiking is enjoyable at Ferry Reach and St. Davids Head, two of the larger and more interesting parks. There is also Spittal Pond Bird Sanctuary and endless coastline areas to walk. Swimming and snorkeling are good on most beaches. However, Shelly Bay Beach five minutes from The Bed and Breakfast, is very safe, never has an undertow (as do many of the more turbulent South Shore beaches) and the caves around the headland offer excellent snorkeling. Tobacco Bay in St. Georges is a great beach year round - sheltered and with marvelous numbers of fish. Diving, sailing and windsurfing are all available at Grotto Bay which is nearby. The former capital of Bermuda, the Town of St. Georges is just a 15 minute bus ride away, but will take you back nearly 400 years to 1612. The town is the oldest continuously occupied settlement in the English New World. The extraordinary atmosphere of the town is captured not in its gentrification but in the fact the folks live in these ancient buildings and that the ongoing matter of everyday business has somehow been managed within the confines of a pretty town with winding roads and oddly shaped buildings perched curbside. Its history embraces many roles: a thriving frontier town, military and naval outpost and colonial capital to name but a few. Crammed now with pretty shops and attractive cafes, it is centered on a beautiful waterfront square, with museums and galleries just steps away, including a replica of the Deliverance. This tiny ship bore the early settlers on to Jamestown, Virginia after a year of collecting food and ship building to escape the island they were shipwrecked upon. There is a fine golf course behind the town, gardens and churches to explore and dazzling beaches in the area. Buses run into Hamilton and beyond, and there is a ferry service into Hamilton as well: please check the schedules on the homepage of www.bermudarentals.com for times of departure and return. As the island is only 22 miles long, even at the sedate pace of 14 to 20 miles an hour, you can explore the entire island comfortably from your taxi, on the mopeds or by public transportation. The Mid-Ocean Golf Course is about 15 minutes away by taxi. Extra towels and sheets are made available to you, but no maid service is provided.
