In the summer keep it wide open to live out doors and in the winter very cozy, central heating plus wood-stove (wood provided). Description:Imagine a place that was brilliantly designed and a real gem. Sounds pretty intriguing, right? Well, you 'll find that those are the exact words used to describe this vacation rental in France by previous guests who just loved it! Bordering the Dronne River, this self-catering accommodation near Chenaud has a peaceful and pleasant setting in the beautiful countryside. Incredible, stunning, and lovingly restored, this is just the place to spend the holidays in France! n n2.6 hectares (6.4 acres): The chateau was built in the 17th century, with the foundation dating back to 1090. In the 18th and 19th century the chateau was enlarged with 2 more parts. All sections are attached to each other with 3-foot thick walls. The different styles of the various constructions are visible, which lends an attractive rambling aspect to the building. For example, in the 17th century the cellar, now used for wine storage, was the kitchen. The original details are still visible. The property is accessed via a quiet little road that connects two small villages. The graveled courtyard leads to the house, barn and garden. The backyard overlooks the winding Dronne River where there is a dock (4m x 7m) where guests can sit and to enjoy the riverside and the canoes passing by. The large garden is completely private, the north, south and west sides consist of typical large French walls, the river Dronne is on the east side of the property. The south of the property has a splendid view of the 12th century Roman church of Chenaud. There is garden furniture in both sunny and shaded areas of the garden. There are huge 100-year old oak and line trees, as well as apple, peach, cherry, prune and chestnut trees. New plantain trees have been planted. At the far end of the garden is a little pond. nThe largest part of the chateau, an apartment named Silver Truffle, was built in the 18th century, and the second unit, La Floreale, dates back to the 17th century. Both sections are tastefully decorated with antique and exquisite fabrics, combined with pieces of modern European art. All bedrooms (except the two in La Floreale) still have the original fireplaces, but due to safety reasons they are not useable. The 19th century part is still under restoration and in use by the owners. Beside the main house is a large barn with two towers and an old well. La Vesunna is an apartment in the barn, which has been beautifully restored and decorated. n nSilver Truffle (275m2): nGround floor: One enters the entrance hall with floor tiles and wooden beams from the 17th century. From this hall one can access the living area, a bedroom, and a bathroom with a washing machine and dryer. The living area includes a large fireplace (wood is available for an extra cost), a fully equipped kitchen, dining table and comfortable seating close to the fireplace. The decor is a combination of antique and modern art. The bedroom has a king-size bed (or twin beds, depending upon the preference), 300-year old oak floors, built-in electronic safe, and a small wash basin. The bathroom, separate from the bedroom, has a WC, shower, sink, washing machine and dryer, and radiant floor heating. nFirst floor: From the hall there is access to the 300-year old staircase to the first floor. From the landing there is a wonderful view over the Dronne River. From here there are three spacious bedrooms. The first bedroom, with a safari theme, has a king-size bed, and an en suite bathroom with a WC, circle-shaped shower, sink and floor heating. This bedroom also has a built-in electronic safe. The second bedroom, decorated in red, has twin beds which can be made into a king-size bed upon request, and an en suite bathroom with WC, shower and sink. There is a built-in electronic safe. The third bedroom has twin beds which can be made into a king-size bed upon request, and an en suite bathroom with WC, shower, sink and radiant floor heating. The bedroom has a built-in electronic safe. There is central heating and each radiator can be individually adjusted. nLa Floreale (120m2): nGround floor: On the ground floor is the living area, including a living/dining room, kitchen an entrance hall and guest bathroom. From the entrance hall one can access the guest bathroom with a WC and sink, as well as the washing machine and dryer, iron and ironing board (located in a closet). Also from the entrance one can access the living/dining room and the fully equipped kitchen. The living room is the oldest part of the chateau, dating back to 1626. The living/dining room decor is modern with antique elements and the room features a wood stove with the furniture surrounding the stove. From the kitchen you can access a large balcony where you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning sun. There is a built-in electronic safe. nFirst floor: A staircase goes to the first floor, where there are two double bedrooms, each with king-size beds (or twin beds, depending upon the preference). Description:If you love the sea, you could hardly do better than this apartment in a Sorrento villa. Great for a family getaway, this vacation villa apartment in Italy has three bedrooms, two baths, and a shared swimming pool right on the water. The panoramic terrace is great for dining together or just enjoying endless views. And let's not forget the location! This apartment on the Sorrento Peninsula offers trails throughout the countryside, proximity to Sorrento, and easy access to all of the amazing spots in the area: Amalfi, Positano, Pompeii, and Capri. n nThis villa is one of very few in the area with both private sea frontage and a seawater swimming pool. The villa is built on four levels, with the Attico apartment on Levels 3 and 4. Levels one, two, and four open onto ample terraces equipped with outdoor furniture, while level three opens onto balconies with uninterrupted views of Naples, including the island of Capri, Procida, and Ischia. Mount Vesuvius looms in the background. A separate garden area, shared between the units, hosts a pizza oven with a wood stove and barbecue-- where staff, on request, can arrange handmade pizza parties. The shared swimming pool (10m x 6m, 1.5-3.5m deep) is set in a terrace just above the sea, ideal for sunset cocktail parties, while the sea access is about 100 steps down from the main entrance. It is furnished with two wooden tables and a number of deck chairs, partially shaded by a bamboo roof. This level also has a partially open-plan kitchen equipped with a cook-top, electric oven, Italian coffee maker, dishwasher, and toaster. Another sliding glass door opens onto a stone-paved side terrace shaded by pine trees. A back room is also available for extra food and drinks. nLevel 3: A wooden staircase leads down into a large, open-plan room that can be enclosed with a sliding wooden door. Here there are two twin beds with a wardrobe and chest of drawers. It also has a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. The room is nice and cool and opens onto a small side terrace. From here, a few stairs lead down to a corridor where you will find the master bedroom, which includes a 160-cm queen-size bed, air conditioning, a heating unit, and a small balcony with sea views. Back in the corridor, there is a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and bathtub with fixed showerhead. n nThis villa is located about 1.5 km from the center of Massa Lubrense, a quaint town just a few kilometers outside of Sorrento, on one of the most beautiful coastlines of Italy. The area offers beautiful landscape with more than 100 km of trails throughout the countryside, along with some of the best cuisine in the country! It is only 3 miles away from the Island of Capri and within reach of all of the major towns of the Amalfi Coast. Going into the heart of Sorrento, you'll find yourself in a thriving seaside community, filled with life, good food, and great shopping. Sorrento is famous for two things you can't miss: Limoncello (an alcoholic aperitif) and inlaid wood. The workshops of Sorrento were the first to use the technique of arranging small pieces of wood into intricate patterns, a practice which has been refined and perfected through generations. Take the time to find and visit one of the workshops-- you won't regret it! There are also a couple of places you ought not to miss. The first is the 10th century Basilica di San Antonio. Saint Anthony is the patron of navigators, and sailors have made thousands of votive offerings at his tomb in the crypt. For example, in the 17th century the cellar, now used for wine storage, was the kitchen. The original details are still visible. Description:In the summer the swallows have the good sense to visit Capestang and the area to rear their families and they are often evident performing their aerobatic displays against the back drop of an azure sky, hence l'Hirondelle, French for Swallow. This is a mostly stone built house with 3 fairly spacious double bedrooms, two twin bedded and one double. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room, then there is the main bathroom which has tub as well as a shower. Veluxe windows in the roof allow extra light giving an airy feel. The beams are exposed on the first floor adding ambience. Description:Casa Hoopoe is a spacious bungalow with 2 large en suite bedrooms. There is something for everyone within 30 minutes drive of Las Golondrinas (which is around the same distance as my out of town supermarket at home) from beaches to scenic drives, market towns to historic treasures and I had a sunshine holiday this year which most people who stayed in the UK did not and for about the same price as going to a UK holiday camp!
