THERE’S NOWHERE QUITE LIKE CANNESIt is a trendy destination. A holiday location prized by the great and good of this world. There may be others! But there’s something about Cannes that makes it unique. It has a soul. Quite simply because it is steeped in history dating back nearly one thousand years. A history made from numerous fragments that it has preserved intact. In 1915 it was classified as a seaside resort by ministerial decree. These fragments are often scenes of daily life. A “pointu” fishing boat coming into the port, a market stall in Forville, a lane in the Suquet district, a game of pétanque on the Place de l’Etang a stone’s throw from the chic buildings on the Croisette, a climb up the steps of the Palais. These fragments are also its small architectural treasures. Precious, mediaeval or Belle Epoque stones. Some shine ostentatiously such the palace hotels on the Croisette, Fort Royal on Sainte-Marguerite, Abbaye de Lérins on Ile Saint Honorat, the Tour Carrée in the Le Suquet district, the Russian church at the entrance to Californie district. The Croisette, with its luxury boutiques, palace hotels and Palais des Festivals, has bestowed prosperity and international fame on Cannes. But the city has not forgotten its popular origins. Le Suquet (Suquet district) and the Vieux Port (Old Port) continue to embody Provencal authenticity in the very heart of the most cosmopolitan of cities. Indeed, there might be more yachts and motorboats moored at the Quai Saint-Pierre, birthplace of Cannes’ first port, built in 1838, than fisherman’s boats. However, the latter have not forgotten a thousand year old tradition: fish is still caught out in the Bay of Cannes. To prove it: visit the richly laden stalls of the Marché Forville. Inaugurated in 1870, these canvas-covered constructions were quickly nicknamed the “belly of Cannes”, so important was their place in the daily life of the Cannes people. Come and taste fresh products with Mediterranean flavours in our restaurants next to the beach. Light and airy spaces between sun and sea which promise serenity and intense pleasure. THE BEST ADDRESS IN CANNES Cannes, a top rank international destinationFor several decades tourism has developed a strong cosmopolitan nature. Located 25 minutes from Nice international airport, it is the city of festivals and conventions, a paradise for shoppers, the capital of the 7th art and a tourist city par excellence boasting extraordinary facilities. If Cannes today is one of the global capitals of tourism and business trips, it also boasts an extraordinary natural setting, but also a long tradition of welcoming visitors, successfully combining professional skills and technical infrastructures to make the city a trusted and attractive destination. The natural beauty of the place, combined with a comprehensive range of accommodation, including top end hotels in its Old Port, on its famous Croisette, or its old town with its Italian flavour, or Rue d’Antibes. where luxury and elegance combine, are all assets which make Cannes an unbeatable destination. The mainbusiness tourism city after Paris, it has built its reputation on know-how and top end amenities which make it a competitive destination loved by some of the biggest international events.1.PLENTY OF BEACHES - 33 beaches in Cannes:Bijou Plage Plage de la Croisette N° 3 - L' Ecrin Plage Boulevard de la Croisette N°4 - Plage du Soleil Boulevard de la Croisette N°5 - Les Dunes Plage de la Croisette N° 6 - Z Plage 73 boulevard de la Croisette Plage du Martinez N°7Seaside Plage Plage de la Croisette N°8 - Miramar Beach 64 boulevard de la Croisette N°9 - Croisette Beach Boulevard de la Croisette N°10 SIGHTSEEING“Do you want to discover Cannes? Le îles de Lérins – BEAUTIFUL MEDITERRANEAN ISLANDS TO VISITThe îles de Lérins islands offer visitors intriguing walks, an astonishing combination of nature, history and spirituality.A short boat ride from the Croisette, opposite Cannes Bay, the Lérins Islands are a welcoming sight. Enjoying an unspoilt natural setting, these beauty spots in the Mediterranean offer visitors a unique combination of flora and fauna as well as an unusual history that includes the mysteries of the Man in the Iron Mask and the calm of Cistercian monks. There is a lot to explore and the boat is waiting: come on board ! Le Suquet – OLD TOWNThe hill of Le “Suquet” is the birthplace of Cannes. We advised you to start the visit in the old town. You can reach the old city by different routes, on steep roads intertwined with sinuous and picturesque staircases where the pedestrian is king. Visit the ramparts, the Musée de la Castre, the Tour Carrée and the church. Admire the view over the city, the port, la Croisette and the Lérins Islands. At the foot of the old city lies the bay of Cannes with the Forville market and the typical shops around (butchers, charcuteries, fishmongers, bakers, cellarers…). Facing Le Suquet, the Old Port, the oldest part of which, the “Quai St Pierre”, dates back to 1838, and welcomes the old rigs and yachts. The Royal Regattas'departure takes place from this port, in September. Sainte MargueriteFort Royal. The origin of this vast complex of fortifications dates back to the 17th century with the construction of the first château. It was occupied by the Spanish during the 30-year War who made it into a citadel. Returned to France, it became a State Prison then Vauban, the most famous of the Louis XIV’s military engineers, made it into one of the most beautiful forts on the Mediterranean coast. However, the building owes it current fame to another contemporary of the Sun King: the famous Man in the Iron Mask. For a quarter of a century, the fortress has housed the Musée de la Mer (Sea Museum). Saint HonoratSearching for a spiritual retreat? or just fancy a 100% nature break? Head for Saint-Honorat , the smaller of the two lérins isla nds . People come here to enjoy the peace and quiet, tranquil walks by the sea, smell of the eucalyptus, sound of bird song or the cicadas in the pines. They make wine in Cannes. And what’s more, it’s rather good! It’s the work of the monks at the Abbaye de Lérins on the Ile de Saint- Honorat who planted eight hectares of vines: chardonnay, clairette, syrah, pinot noir, mourvèdre. CANNES SPAThermal Cures, Thalassotherapy or Spa ... CANNES SHOPPING“Forget film. Cannes is a festival of fashion.” Paulo Coehlo, novelistIt combines luxury, pleasure and good life. It constantly reinvents itself, providing each visitor with the finest luxuries of the day. Shopping : famous and luxurious brandsHigh fashion and famous ready-to-wear clothing, jewellers, tanning shops, perfume shops, beauty parlors, decoration stores and art galleries ... between Rue d'Antibes and the Croisette, nothing misses in the realm of the luxury to compete with Paris, Milan, London, New York or Dubai. The most famous French and international brands are represented in Cannes: Cartier, Rolex, Chopard, Dunhill, Bulgari, Boucheron, Fred, Chanel, Dior, Lacroix, Hermès, Vuitton, Lancel, Céline, MaxMara, Escada, Lolita Lempicka, Jean-Paul Gaultier. Cannes Shopping FestivalLifestyle is honored with, every day : street animations, shopping, relaxation and dream, multibrand parades, showrooms on the theme of « fashion and beauty » and « after-parties » in the festive places of the city. This open-to-all event brings to light the shopping offer of Cannes, and is, during the Easter weekend, the opportunity to discover the destination for the French and foreign tourists. Over this period, the partner hotels propose privileged rates for any stay reserved during the Cannes Shopping Festival. CANNES SPORT“Did you know? France’s first tennis court was built in 1879 in Cannes by Sir Thomas Robinson WoolfieldTennis, horse riding, golf, water sports or winter sports? Whatever your preferences, Cannes is a delight for the eyes, with its fabulous scenery as a backdrop for your favourite sports. Indeed, as all Cannes residents will tell you: there are no better beauty products than the sun and the sea. The city is basically one great open air spa. The preferred treatment of devotees of farniente: as dawn approaches, when the air becomes more tender, is simply to rest awhile on a chair on the Croisette, overlooking the beaches, gazing out across the bay and the Iles de Lerins. Bathing in nature, beauty, life to recharge your batteries, relax.Cannes is home to nearly one hundred beauty institutes offering the know-how of the greatest cosmetics laboratories. The offer is varied and original with no less than 3,000m² of thalassotherapy treatment in Cannes since 2009. Indeed Cannes cultivates its nautical prowess all year round with its five ports (Saint-Pierre old port 650 moorings , Pierre Canto port 598 moorings, the first European port built specifically for yachting , Pointe Croisette port, Moure Rouge port and Béal harbour) and numerous water sports centres dotted along its shoreline. They offer jet skis, wake boards, stand-up paddles, sailing, diving or parascending to discover the Coast and the Iles de Lérins from a different perspective.Mediterranean blue might be the colour that dominates Cannes’ sporting life but another color regularly competes for the starring role: green. It comes in a bright, well-tended variety on the ten golf courses around the city of Cannes. Less than 20 minutes from the city, they stretch from the Bay of Cannes-Mandelieu as far as Valbonne-Mougins’ plain along the Grasse upper basin. CANNES WATERSPORTSIn the summer, the pontoons on La Croisette, Boulevard Jean Hibert and the ‘Plages du Midi’ are centres for towed water sports. If you are an experienced water skier or a beginner, if you would like to try parasailing, wake board, etc… pontoon operators will be delighted to arrange an outing. Most of the pontoons operate on weekends in June and September from 10 am to 6 pm and every day in summer from 10 am till around 7 pm. Description:D101 Coco Palms Pool Villa was acquired by new owners in the fall of 2011. The interior decor, furnishings, and amenities of this extraordinary villa were just updated and upgraded by the new property manager in late 2011. In late 2012 we added another half a dozen pieces of hand-selected local original art, an oversized Ralph Lauren living room rug, additional lighting, and outdoor chaise lounges. n nThe new D101 Coco Palms Pool Villa is now an entirely different and much improved experience for guests. Reservations placed at the full advertised price will include no-charge complimentary daily hotel-style housekeeping service (national holidays excluded). n n n nThe Coco Palms Pool Villa at Wailea Beach Villas, also known as Villa D101, is a three bedroom, three and a half bath luxurious upscale residence with a seemingly direct oceanfront setting and broad panoramic close-up ocean views! In contrast to many other residences within the Wailea Beach Villas, the view of the ocean is not pushed off into the distance. n nAt D101, a stunning expanse of the blue Pacific Ocean is visible from the plunge pool garden, the great room, and the master bedroom. Further, D101 has a unique corner location in front of the D building that provides a considerable amount of privacy. This may be the only one of 98 Wailea Beach Villas that offer so much privacy for outdoor relaxation. Also, Coco Palms Pool Villa is wrapped on 3 sides by lush verdant tropical greenery that gives it a tucked into the garden sort of feeling. n nWithin D101 Coco Palms, you have more than 3,200 square feet of bona-fide upscale living space with an abundance of all-new decor. Just installed in fall 2011 are fresh live green plants, new carpet in all rooms, new down-stuffed sofa, new furnishings, new upholstery on indoor and outdoor cushions, new bed and bath linens, new table linens, new wall decor, new bath accessories, new cookware and kitchen goods, and larger size toiletry products - now with locally sourced ingredients. n nThere are three very spacious bedroom suites. Two master bedrooms have king beds, and en-suite baths. The third bedroom has patio access, an en-suite bath and two twins or a 3rd king bed. n nNow D101 is now stocked with useful guest supplies such as coffee beans, teas, popcorn, herbs/spices, full-size containers of assorted soap and paper products, make-up remover, and more. We also provide beach coolers, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and beach towels. These items are provided for your use on Wailea Beach in front of the resort, but the supplies provided in D101 are helpful if you wish to explore other nearby beaches and if participating in water sports or on boat/yacht excursions. n nThe great room has a brand new 60 inch super-thin LED HD TV. All rooms now have HD cable boxes with HD programs. The great room has an HD DVR to record your favorite programs when at the beach. D101 also now provides free NETFLIX unlimited viewing in the great room and all bedrooms. iPod dock alarm clock radios have been added to all bedrooms, and an ipod dock in the living room channels your personal music selection through the villa-wide central speaker system. There is a PS2 in the third bedroom along with an abundant assortment of PS2 games. All bedrooms and the great room have a DVD/CD player. n nThe gourmet kitchen is well-equipped with a generous array of better quality cooking and dining supplies. To mention a few of the generous kitchen appointments there are two Sub-Zero refrigerators with freezer/ice maker and beverage drawers, Gaggenau stainless steel five burner gas cook top, Thermador convection and microwave oven, Bosch electronic dishwasher, Espresso machine, dual coffee makers, coffee grinder, and Viking gas grill. n nCoco Palms Pool Villa D101 is an oasis of tropical splendor in the heart of Wailea Resort. Just outside the villa are abundant lush and verdant tropical palms, hibiscus, banana, heliconia, bird of paradise, ferns, and other enchanting flora and fauna. We call this a Pool Villa because it is one of just a few villas within this resort with its own petite plunge pool. The plunge pool is surrounded by a pretty little grass lawn and tropical gardens. Located off the master bedroom suite is a lava-rock encircled outdoor hot/cold grotto shower. The shower area may also be accessed by key for private use after the beach. n nD101 is in the D building which is one of the front row buildings that is close to the ocean, the oceanfront Wailea Resort walking promenade boardwalk, the adult heated swimming pool, and Wailea Beach. D101 is also close to the family pool - the second heated pool & hot tub spa complex within Wailea Beach Villas Resort. Access the adult pool and Wailea Beach by stepping outside and strolling one short block down a staircase facing a gorgeous cascading waterfall, then along a stream decorated with lily pads and pastel colored hibiscus flowers. At night, blazing tiki torches frame the beach and pool access walkway. n nEnjoy this private sanctuary of secluded and generously sized luxurious villa residences with upscale hotel services and amenities at owner direct rates. You are guaranteed the specific residence, location, decor, and view as represented on this individual property display. Just a few of the inclusive complimentary benefits provided for the esteemed guests of The Coco Palms Pool Villa are Personal Concierge Service, high speed wireless internet access, unlimited Netflix service, HD television programs, daily housekeeping service, in-villa safe, tropical bath treats, use of the swimming pools, whirlpool spas and gym/fitness center, pool towel service, and personalized in-villa greeting orientation. Unlike at most nearby hotels there are no extra Resort Fees charged! n nThere is a difference in quality between some of the Wailea Beach Villa residences offered for rent. The abundant and effusive guest comments collected to date for all of our villas are direct testimony to the outstanding cleanliness standards and white glove inspections we employ. n nThis privately owned, uniquely decorated, and professionally managed garden level villa has superior amenities and housekeeping, a plunge pool and a full panoramic direct ocean view. Facing towards the setting sun, filtered sun light sparkles through the creme colored great room, illuminating the richly colored custom decor. Floor to ceiling solid glass and screen doors fully retract into hidden pockets, creating a complete open-air living experience. n nIf you are planning to visit Maui with a larger family or group, and you need more than three private bedrooms, we invite you to consider pairing The Coco Palms Pool Villa D101 with additional various size Wailea Beach Villas in the D building such as D102 (immediately adjacent next door on the same ground floor), and D302 on the top floor corner overlooking all of Wailea Beach and Wailea Resort. Each of the D building villas sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. You can easily assemble a 6 or 9 bedroom configuration and have separate private accommodations just a few steps from each other. n nThe Wailea Beach Villas were designed as a world-class residential resort comprised of only 98 elegant private residences set on 11 acres nestled between the Shops At Wailea, Wailea Beach and the Pacific Ocean. This gated vacation paradise with its polite and attentive 24 hour security personnel, is embellished with verdant manicured gardens, blooming colorful tropical flowers, and cascading waterfalls. Tiki torches blaze after sunset creating a truly tropical South Pacific ambiance. From the beachfront adult pool, gaze down the entire length of golden Wailea Beach with its stunning panorama of sparkling sapphire seas, scarlet sunsets, and powder blue skies punctuated with white cotton candy clouds. n nVacation at the Wailea Beach Villas and you do not have to be unnecessarily concerned about the availability of lounge chairs or sun umbrellas. There is no need to spend extra money to rent a cabana to be guaranteed some quiet space or sun shade. There are plenty of sun umbrellas, lounge chairs, and shaded areas at both swimming pools for all guests to enjoy on a no-charge basis. In fact, the friendly pool attendants will set up your lounge chair on Wailea Beach. Towel and water service is also available pool-side. In contrast to other nearby resorts, the Wailea Beach Villas are never crowded or excessively noisy. n nWithin the resort there are two swimming pools, one designated for adults and the other for families.
