In addition within a 10 minutes drive there is a man made lake and beach at Rouffiac with water skiing, boating and swimming. The ancient village of Segur-le-Chateau is on our doorstep, where you can visit the ruins of the once glorious Chateau, the town has a peaceful river flowing through. Why not take a riverside picnic or visit the restaurant, in July and August there are evening markets with barbeques and lively traditional music. The area is also renown for its fine cuisine and there are many fine restaurants locally. All the normal facilties are availble including WiFi, television/DVD and parking. Description:Nestled in four acres in a tranquil hillside position and surrounded by woodland, farms and orchards with panoramic views of the Quercy countryside, the farmhouse, built in 1700, and the barn have been tastefully restored using traditional methods both properties have the wonderful white stone walls and beamed ceilings characteristic of the area, and are beautifully furnished. Roquecor (2km) has a restaurant and shops and Montaigu de Quercy (5km) has a larger range of shops and restaurants and leisure lake, with swimming, boating and picnic facilities. Nearest main towns: Villeneuve sur Lot - 25 minutes. The main entrance to the house is through the large sun-room which overlooks the long stone front terrace, which has a small covered dining barn with a summer kitchen. The lovely light sun-room opens into the eat-in-kitchen that is fully equipped with electric hob, oven, two fridges and a freezer. The kitchen leads into the spacious comfortable sitting and dining room that has a central wood burning stove, telephone, and a door also leading onto the front terrace, that is ideal for alfresco meals. There is WiFi throughout the property. Opposite the farmhouse is the barn which was very recently restored and now offers a very spacious double bedroom with French style bed, a small sitting room, a shower-room with wc and basin and a twin bedroom situated on the second floor. The utility room in the barn has a washing machine, dryer, and the central heating boiler. The terraced pool is surrounded by lavender bushes and mature trees and shrubs. Although perched on the edge of the North York Moors, Gillamoor has easy access to Kirkbymoorside (3 miles), Pickering (10 Miles) & Helmsley (8 miles) where there are a variety of food shops and supermarkets for general provisions. Helpful owners live next door. nThe North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Heritage Coast (Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay) form the regional setting for Keeper's Cottage. In season, Farndale's show of daffodils and The Moors' cover of heather are irresistible attractions for visitors from the four corners of the world. This is walking and cycling country which is difficult to better anywhere in Britain.
