Description:This bright and spacious loft-style penthouse apartment offers majestic views over the canopy of a small park giving the feeling of a truly idyllic retreat in the countryside but is in fact in the middle of the city - less than 20 minutes to Friedrichstrasse. The apartment is located in Alt-Tempelhof, close to Kreuzberg, the multicultural melting pot and currently the most interesting part of Berlin with its vivid art scene, English theater, bars and restaurants. The living room is very bright, has high ceilings and measures 70 square meters. It is divided into three separate areas: a large dining area with a beautiful wooden dining-table and an attractive sunny balcony, a generous sitting area with sofa and armchairs and in the front next to the kitchen a cozy fireplace with a wood-burning stove. A large skylight lets in even more light: a crackling fire in winter and above you twinkling stars - what more could you want? The open-plan kitchen has a breakfast bar, a very good stove, large fridge and a dishwasher. A large larder provides space for essentials such as a freezer, provisions, wood for the oven and other things. The apartment has two large separate bedrooms. which face east and, like the terrace, receive the morning sunshine. The master bedroom has a large king size bed and a desk. The second bedroom is currently arranged as a study with a second desk, but could be converted into a second bedroom. All rooms have central heating. On entering through the front door, you will find beautiful stone tiles in the hall and bathroom. The bathroom, which is also light and sunny, comes with a floor to ceiling shower and is equipped with a high quality new washing machine. Next to the bedroom is a large store room, which is suitable for clothes, shoes and other things like vacuum cleaner, etc. A cellar is also available for storage. Behind the house there is a courtyard with communal garden, lawn and children’s play area. The street is quiet, tree-lined and cobble-stoned and has a number of architecturally beautiful buildings. The park in front of the apartment is a small paradise with ponds, walkways and ancient trees. The former Tempelhof Airport, which is now a huge green area and the creative playground for many Berliners, can be reached on foot within 10 minutes. Here more and more people pursue recreational activities, have fun with urban gardening and come together for barbecues. The famous ‘Bergmannkiez’ (the fashionable area of Kreuzberg) is a mere 10-15 minutes trip by Underground on the U6 or by bicycle. The S-Bahn Südkreuz, which is also one of the main railways terminals, is three bus stops away. There is easy access to both Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schoenefeld airports. In the immediate location of the apartment you will find numerous shopping possibilities, from organic food stores to discounters a large department store is directly opposite of the park. The apartment offers the perfect location for people who want lots of space and who plan to stay in Berlin for approx. 6-12 months. Longer stays may also be arranged by individual agreement. And last but not least: the apartment comes with a built-in fitness facility. Being an older building there is no elevator and so you will need to climb four flights of stairs to enjoy all the above. But it is worth it. If you wish to view the apartment or you would like to book it straight away, please contact Anna Hope, or call her on 49-.... more info >>

Description:Imagine a place that was brilliantly designed and a real gem. Sounds pretty intriguing, right? Well, you 'll find that those are the exact words used to describe this vacation rental in France by previous guests who just loved it! Bordering the Dronne River, this self-catering accommodation near Chenaud has a peaceful and pleasant setting in the beautiful countryside. Incredible, stunning, and lovingly restored, this is just the place to spend the holidays in France! n n2.6 hectares (6.4 acres): The chateau was built in the 17th century, with the foundation dating back to 1090. In the 18th and 19th century the chateau was enlarged with 2 more parts. All sections are attached to each other with 3-foot thick walls. The different styles of the various constructions are visible, which lends an attractive rambling aspect to the building. For example, in the 17th century the cellar, now used for wine storage, was the kitchen. The original details are still visible. The property is accessed via a quiet little road that connects two small villages. The graveled courtyard leads to the house, barn and garden. The backyard overlooks the winding Dronne River where there is a dock (4m x 7m) where guests can sit and to enjoy the riverside and the canoes passing by. The large garden is completely private, the north, south and west sides consist of typical large French walls, the river Dronne is on the east side of the property. The south of the property has a splendid view of the 12th century Roman church of Chenaud. There is garden furniture in both sunny and shaded areas of the garden. There are huge 100-year old oak and line trees, as well as apple, peach, cherry, prune and chestnut trees. New plantain trees have been planted. At the far end of the garden is a little pond. nThe largest part of the chateau, an apartment named Silver Truffle, was built in the 18th century, and the second unit, La Floreale, dates back to the 17th century. Both sections are tastefully decorated with antique and exquisite fabrics, combined with pieces of modern European art. All bedrooms (except the two in La Floreale) still have the original fireplaces, but due to safety reasons they are not useable. The 19th century part is still under restoration and in use by the owners. Beside the main house is a large barn with two towers and an old well. La Vesunna is an apartment in the barn, which has been beautifully restored and decorated. n nSilver Truffle (275m2): nGround floor: One enters the entrance hall with floor tiles and wooden beams from the 17th century. From this hall one can access the living area, a bedroom, and a bathroom with a washing machine and dryer. The living area includes a large fireplace (wood is available for an extra cost), a fully equipped kitchen, dining table and comfortable seating close to the fireplace. The decor is a combination of antique and modern art. The bedroom has a king-size bed (or twin beds, depending upon the preference), 300-year old oak floors, built-in electronic safe, and a small wash basin. The bathroom, separate from the bedroom, has a WC, shower, sink, washing machine and dryer, and radiant floor heating. nFirst floor: From the hall there is access to the 300-year old staircase to the first floor. From the landing there is a wonderful view over the Dronne River. From here there are three spacious bedrooms. The first bedroom, with a safari theme, has a king-size bed, and an en suite bathroom with a WC, circle-shaped shower, sink and floor heating. This bedroom also has a built-in electronic safe. The second bedroom, decorated in red, has twin beds which can be made into a king-size bed upon request, and an en suite bathroom with WC, shower and sink. There is a built-in electronic safe. The third bedroom has twin beds which can be made into a king-size bed upon request, and an en suite bathroom with WC, shower, sink and radiant floor heating. The bedroom has a built-in electronic safe. There is central heating and each radiator can be individually adjusted. nLa Floreale (120m2): nGround floor: On the ground floor is the living area, including a living/dining room, kitchen an entrance hall and guest bathroom. From the entrance hall one can access the guest bathroom with a WC and sink, as well as the washing machine and dryer, iron and ironing board (located in a closet). Also from the entrance one can access the living/dining room and the fully equipped kitchen. The living room is the oldest part of the chateau, dating back to 1626. The living/dining room decor is modern with antique elements and the room features a wood stove with the furniture surrounding the stove. From the kitchen you can access a large balcony where you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning sun. There is a built-in electronic safe. nFirst floor: A staircase goes to the first floor, where there are two double bedrooms, each with king-size beds (or twin beds, depending upon the preference). There are two en suite bathrooms, each with a shower, sink and WC. There is central heating. nLa Vesunna (90m2): nGround floor: This accommodation is in the old barn. From the entrance one can access the guest bathroom with WC and sink and the laundry room with a washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board. The gites in manche are close to sandy beaches (only 6km), and ideally placed for visiting Mont St Michel, Bayeux, and the Landing Beaches, or house hunting in the cotentin area. The attractive market towns of La Haye du Puits and Portbail, 6km and 8km away, have all the shops you need, including two supermarkets. If you are a fan of French street markets there is one available every day within easy driving distance. There are many fetes, fairs and festivals during the year, or you might just want to enjoy the quietness tennis, golf, horse riding, canoeing, windsurfing, sailing, karting and ice-skating, all of which we can help you organise. There is now a network of cycle routes going to La Haye du Puits and Coutances in one direction, and Portbail and Briquebec in the other, all of which can be joined very close to the house. r n r nWe are situated within the Parc des Marais and have a wealth of information available on local fauna and flora, binoculars for observing local bird life, and an 8km round walk. This starts from our house, going via the Mont de Doville and along the marshes, before returning. r n r nThe newest of our three gites, The Stables will comfortably accommodate 6 people. On the ground floor are the entrance hall, large living/dining room, separate kitchen, a bedroom with double bed and its own bathroom (bath, separate shower, bidet, toilet). Upstairs there are two further bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two single beds, and a shower room with toilet. All rooms are equipped with modern electric heaters, and in addition the lounge has a log-burning stove. The cottage has an automatic washing machine and TV (4 English channels as well as 5 French). The private garden has a paved patio with garden furniture. r n r nCreated from three stables, and the first of our Normandy gites, ChÃ,¨,vrefeuille is a large, spacious cottage designed to accommodate 6/7 people in comfort. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room with wood-burning stove and kitchen area. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor and has an en-suite showeroom equipped for wheelchair users. Upstairs are two further bedrooms, a shower room and separate toilet. The gite now has full oil-fired central heating. The gÃ,®,te is accessible to wheelchair users and has been inspected and approved by the Association des ParalysÃ,©,s de France. r nThe gÃ,®,te has a washing machine and TV (4 English channels). r n r nOutside is a large stone patio area with a table and benches. Comfortable garden chairs and a barbecue are provided. r n r nJasmin, our 2 bedroom Normandy gite is able to accommodate 4 people. Downstairs there is the living area, separated from the well equipped kitchen, a shower room with basin, and separate toilet. Upstairs are the two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. Electric heating is provided in all rooms. r nThe gÃ,®,te has a washing machine and TV (4 English channels). r n r nOutside is a grassy area with table and comfortable garden chairs. r nA barbecue is also available. r n r nThe peninsula of La Manche is surrounded by over 200km of fantastic and varied coastline. Starting on the west coast, the bay of Mont St. Michel sweeps round to the glamorous spa resort of Granville with its Christian Dior Museum and gardens. Some of the finest oysters are farmed in and around Agon-Coutainville. Miles of accessible and clean sandy beaches stretch up to the chic boutique ports of Barneville-Carteret. Following the route des Caps, or the sentier des douaniers (coastal footpath) is a great way to explore the cliffs and coves of the pink granite coast up to the rugged landscape of La Hague. Heading east from Cherbourg with its wealth of shops, galleries and state of the art aquarium, the region of Val de Saire, with its ports of St.Vaast and Barfleur, famed for their mussels and the fascinating Ile de Tatihou nature reserve. The plains of the East coast are home to some of Normandy's finest stud farms, and Utah beach, which marks the beginning of the landing beaches, war cemeteries and museums. r n r nInland, the landscape is defined by traditional agricultural practices, which over the centuries have created the 'bocage', a network of small fields, hedgerows and ancient sunken lanes.Normandy boasts many fine manoirs, ChÃ,¢,teaux and gardens, many open to the public r n r nNEW for 2010 - Free Wi-Fi Access r n... more info >>
