Description:We are situated in the heart of beautiful, peaceful countryside, about 45 mins from Cherbourg on the west coast of the Cotentin peninsula. We have three self-catering holiday cottages (or in Normandy, Gites) - The Stables,ChÃ,¨,vrefeuille and Jasmin, all of which are described later. Our farm is a veritable haven of peace and tranquillity where children can play in safety, and help out with our animals. The gites in manche are close to sandy beaches (only 6km), and ideally placed for visiting Mont St Michel, Bayeux, and the Landing Beaches, or house hunting in the cotentin area. The attractive market towns of La Haye du Puits and Portbail, 6km and 8km away, have all the shops you need, including two supermarkets. If you are a fan of French street markets there is one available every day within easy driving distance. There are many fetes, fairs and festivals during the year, or you might just want to enjoy the quietness tennis, golf, horse riding, canoeing, windsurfing, sailing, karting and ice-skating, all of which we can help you organise. There is now a network of cycle routes going to La Haye du Puits and Coutances in one direction, and Portbail and Briquebec in the other, all of which can be joined very close to the house. r n r nWe are situated within the Parc des Marais and have a wealth of information available on local fauna and flora, binoculars for observing local bird life, and an 8km round walk. This starts from our house, going via the Mont de Doville and along the marshes, before returning. r n r nThe newest of our three gites, The Stables will comfortably accommodate 6 people. Some of the finest oysters are farmed in and around Agon-Coutainville. Miles of accessible and clean sandy beaches stretch up to the chic boutique ports of Barneville-Carteret. Solid polished travertine marble flooring is a feature throughout the Villa and terraces. Alternatively, the Villa can be reached by a private residential road leading to the front of the Villa where there is parking and a garden gate. Guests should be aware that both access routes to the Villa involve a set of stone steps. The top floor consists of a drawing room, 2 large terraces, 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (bath and separate shower) and fully fitted kitchen. The drawing room is luxuriously furnished with antiques and a wood burning stove for cold winter evenings. The middle floor consists of a drawing room, 2 large terraces, 2 double bedrooms, one twin-bedded room, a spacious study library, 2 bathrooms (bath and separate shower) and fully-fitted kitchen. A stroll of 10 minutes from the front of the Villa takes one to a private beach and mooring area for the exclusive use of the residents of the private road leading to the front of the Villa. The private beach is in a wonderful setting with tables and chairs, sun loungers and shower with changing facilities. SKYitalia, BBC (TV & Radio) and ITV television are available on the top 2 floors and a Broadband WIFI network can be accessed from anywhere in the Villa. For guests who use a wheelchair, we have a ground-floor accessible bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, lounge, terrace and garden. All bedrooms are tastefully furnished, with original wood flooring. There are a total of13 beds, plus 2 folding campbeds and 3 baby cots. All of the beds are singles (or we can put them together to make doubles), making sleeping arrangements really easy for mixed groups of friends and families. Five of the bedrooms have brand new, private ensuite bathrooms / shower-rooms. We also provide many bulky items to make holidaying with young children easier e.g. baby cots, high chairs, cutlery, baby swing, toys, changing mat and table. The cosy lounge has satellite television, DVD (plus large collection of films), 2 double sofa beds and free wifi internet connection. The french windows ensure more lovely views of the open countryside at the rear of the house. The well-equipped kitchen adjoins the lounge and was designed with large groups in mind . Large, private garden and dining terrace.... Although the house is in the heart of a village with shops and restaurants, you will have the best of both worlds. Once you step out of the back door, the peaceful views of open countryside really make you feel that you are in a completely rural location. The attractive terrace is a wonderful location for a cool, relaxing drink on a warm evening. There is also an enormous barbecue for alfresco dining! There are reclining seats, 2 large dining tables / benches and even a parasol if you need some more shade.
