Description:La Ferme Gautre is a beautiful 200 year old Poitou Charentes farmhouse, renovated to a high standard. The farmhouse is located on the edge of the Marais Poitevin, with its excellent cycling, walking and boating. It is close to several villages, and Niort is also nearby, along with the towns of La Rochelle and Poitiers. There is a large outdoor heated pool and a barn with table tennis, pool table, darts, basketball hoop and bicycles (for adults and children). There is also an extensive collection of books and DVDs, and free wifi internet. The farmhouse consists of: On the ground floor - a hand made farmhouse kitchen with wood-burning stove, living room/salon (with large fireplaces for those cooler winter nights), a library with a large and extensive collection of books and DVDs, a conservatory/kids' playroom, cloakroom and large utility room (chaufferie). On the first floor -four bedrooms - three 3 double rooms, and a larger room with 4 single beds and a cot (making it ideal for use as a family room or children's room). There are also two good sized family bathrooms, both with bath and shower. Bathroom 1 has a separate bath and walk in shower, bathroom 2 has bath/shower and toilet. In addition there is a separate WC. Access to the triple height, cavernous barn is via the house and which contains: indoor pool table, table tennis, darts, basketball hoop and bicycles for adults and children.
