Description:This bright and spacious loft-style penthouse apartment offers majestic views over the canopy of a small park giving the feeling of a truly idyllic retreat in the countryside but is in fact in the middle of the city - less than 20 minutes to Friedrichstrasse. The apartment is located in Alt-Tempelhof, close to Kreuzberg, the multicultural melting pot and currently the most interesting part of Berlin with its vivid art scene, English theater, bars and restaurants. The living room is very bright, has high ceilings and measures 70 square meters. It is divided into three separate areas: a large dining area with a beautiful wooden dining-table and an attractive sunny balcony, a generous sitting area with sofa and armchairs and in the front next to the kitchen a cozy fireplace with a wood-burning stove. A large skylight lets in even more light: a crackling fire in winter and above you twinkling stars - what more could you want? The open-plan kitchen has a breakfast bar, a very good stove, large fridge and a dishwasher. A large larder provides space for essentials such as a freezer, provisions, wood for the oven and other things. The apartment has two large separate bedrooms. which face east and, like the terrace, receive the morning sunshine. The master bedroom has a large king size bed and a desk. The second bedroom is currently arranged as a study with a second desk, but could be converted into a second bedroom. All rooms have central heating. On entering through the front door, you will find beautiful stone tiles in the hall and bathroom. The bathroom, which is also light and sunny, comes with a floor to ceiling shower and is equipped with a high quality new washing machine. Next to the bedroom is a large store room, which is suitable for clothes, shoes and other things like vacuum cleaner, etc. A cellar is also available for storage. Behind the house there is a courtyard with communal garden, lawn and children’s play area. The street is quiet, tree-lined and cobble-stoned and has a number of architecturally beautiful buildings. The park in front of the apartment is a small paradise with ponds, walkways and ancient trees. The former Tempelhof Airport, which is now a huge green area and the creative playground for many Berliners, can be reached on foot within 10 minutes. Here more and more people pursue recreational activities, have fun with urban gardening and come together for barbecues. The famous ‘Bergmannkiez’ (the fashionable area of Kreuzberg) is a mere 10-15 minutes trip by Underground on the U6 or by bicycle. The S-Bahn Südkreuz, which is also one of the main railways terminals, is three bus stops away. There is easy access to both Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schoenefeld airports. In the immediate location of the apartment you will find numerous shopping possibilities, from organic food stores to discounters a large department store is directly opposite of the park. Handicap Access This home is fairly accessible for those with limited mobility since there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main level. The main entrance has 2 steps to enter the home. Once you are on the main level, there is a living room, TV, kitchen, dining area, BBQ, and 55 foot deck with amazing views. Layout You walk in the front door and straight ahead is the large living room with lots of comfy couches, table seating for 6 and a TV with DirecTV, DVD player. Next to the TV is a wood burning stove and we provide the wood. It is very rare to find homes in Tahoe with real wood burning stoves and fireplaces since a rule came out over 6 years ago that fireplaces must be removed when a home is sold. I bought this house before that rule so I am able to keep the wood stove and fireplace. There are large double paned windows facing the mountain and meadows in this room. The sliding glass door leads you out to the large 55 foot deck with picnic table seating for 18 and a high quality BBQ. The views of the mountains and meadow are amazing and you can see coyotes, birds, chipmunks and sometimes a beaver running around. On the right side of the deck is a door that leads into the master suite with a queen bed, seating, and ensuite bathroom. You can also enter this private master suite through the garage. Off of the upstairs living room is a hallway which leads you to a bathroom with a shower/tub on the left, a queen bedroom on the right, a king bedroom on the right and then a second master bedroom on the left with a king bed, TV, DirecTV service, and a private bathroom with shower. Off of the upstairs living room is the open kitchen and dining seating for 12. The kitchen was recently remodeled with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and new sink. Continue through the kitchen and walk down the stairs to the lower level. You will enter the billiards room with a large pool table. On the right are three bedrooms with queen beds. After you pass the billiards room, there is a large bathroom on the left with a shower. Continue down the hallway and you will enter the great room with a large TV with DirecTV, DVD player, DVD library, wet bar, bar stools, shuffleboard table, large cozy fireplace and I provide the wood. Pass this room and you will enter the sunroom. There is a ping pong table, couches and great views. To the right is a large bedroom with 3 full beds. There is a sliding glass door that leads outside to the hot tub. This hot tub was recently purchased and has lots of jets. Around the corner from the hot tub is the wood room. The driveway can fit 4 cars and 2 cars can fit in the garage. In the garage is a storage room for skis, boards, poles, boots, etc. Snow Removal I have a company that plows the driveway when there is more than 5 inches of snow. Description:This is a family cabin located in the lush greenery of the Mt Hood National Forest outdoor activites year round are right outside the door. Our cabin has an open floor plan, newly installed bamboo floors, vaulted ceilings, and a wood burning stove. There is a covered entryway, a long curcular driveway, and no near-by neighbors to bother you. There is a full cord of wood in our woodshed for many cozy evenings reading by the fire. The cabin is secluded, but only a 50 minute drive from downtown Portland. Besides the wood stove, we have central heating, so you will never be cold. There are several sleeping options: a king-sized log bed an upper loft with two twins which is perfect for kids a couch and an inflatable queen mattress for use in the great room area. We have a full bathroom with a tub on the first floor and a half bathroom just off the king-sized bedroom on the second floor. The kitchen has a stove, fridge, microwave, coffee bean grinder, coffee maker, and everything you need to cook a great meal. The open floor plan allows the cook to be part of everthing that is going on in the great room. There are so many fun things to do in the Mt Hood national Forest -- year-round there are activites to keep a family busy. The Flag Mountian hiking trial is nearby, no driving required. Trillium Lake is a beautiful location for a hike, a paddle, or a snowshoe expedition. Cross country skiing is fun when there is snow on the ground. Teacup is a nice place to cross country ski, as is the Nordic Center at Mt. Hood Meadows. Its a short drive to Ski Bowl, Timberline, and Mount Hood Meadows downhill ski areas. Our kids really like to watch the salmon spawn in the fall huge fish swim upstream in an attempt to return home to die. The house has been built ten years ago and recently an extra floor and an annex have been added. With three double bedrooms it sleeps six persons. Because of the hilly area and the swimming pool, the house seems less appropriate for children under six years old. On the upper floor, the spacious main bedroom has a double bed, washstand, picture windows and doors opening to a large terrace with stunning mountains views. The second bedroom has two single beds and the new bathroom next door, with washstand, bath and toilet. The bedrooms have floor heating for the cold times. Downstairs, a second bathroom has another toilet, a wash basin and an unusual semi-circular shower. While showering one can admire the view over the mountains and the village of Mecina. The entire church has been updated and freshly painted. I keep the church spotless. Property description & amenities: The ceiling is 30 feet high surrounded by eight, 4’ x 12 ‘ stained glass windows. The master bedroom with private bath is located on the balcony, (formerly the choir loft). There is a flat screen TV with cable and DVD player at the foot of the queen bed. Linens, comforter, pillows, towels, hair dryer & shampoo are provided. The loft/balcony master bedroom is private from view from below and separate from the second bedroom.
