Description:Chalet Grand Bec is located in a quiet French lotissement a few minutes walk from the centre of the charming and conveniently located Alpine village of Bozel, an ideal base for both winter (Courchevel and La Plagne ski resorts within 15 mins reach) and summer holidays alike. In the winter, aside from the nearby world class Alpine ski slopes, there are numerous cross country ski trails around Bozel and surrounding are (e.g. Champagny Le Haut). In the heart of the Vanoise National Park (perfect for walking, cycling, mountain biking, triathlon, fishing, paragliding etc.), Bozel benefits from a beautiful small lake with a small family beach and bar/restaurant. This makes Bozel an ideal base for triathlon training, having access to open water swimming, numerous running routes and both road and off-road cycling. Bozel also has a range of local shops and restaurants, sufficient for all your holiday needs with the larger towns of Moutiers (twice weekly market), Albertville, Annecy and Chambery within easy drive for the more adventurous. Other local amenities include a 400m athletics running track, sports field, tennis courts and children's play area - all with the most stunning views imaginable! Chalet Grand Bec was bought by the the Whitwell family 3 years ago following a year spent living in Bozel (long enough to appreciate its understated charm). Renovated to a high standard, the chalet has 4 bedrooms (2 double, 1 with en-suite and 2 twins( though the second twin comprises a single bed and a double bed at mezzanine level which would easily accommodate 3 children if required). The spacious downstairs has an open plan feel with a new kitchen with large table and comfortable seating for 8-9 in the lounge which benefits from a roaring wood burner (wood provided). A large decked terrace is reached through the glass sliding doors from where stunning panoramic views of Courchevel and the surrounding Alps (including the Grand Bec) can be enjoyed. There is a TV room (UK freeview channels only DVD, French channels available on separate TV DVD in lounge) in the basement area plus a ski boot warmer and ample space for skis, boots etc. There is a table tennis table available for use in the integrated garage. Further details outdoors: Apart from the large garage there is ample space outside for 2 cars. There is a small, natural (i.e. not manicured!) garden to the rear of the chalet. The front door is reached via steps to the side of the house so wheelchair access would be challenging. There is also access to the property via the garage (the chalet is built on a a slope with the garage, TV room, shower room and boot warmer in the basement) though there is also access to the house via the garage from the road. Sunday changeover. Will consider short breaks though weekend breaks to finish on Sunday (e.g. arrive Wed evening leave Sunday) to avoid eating into 2 weeks of letting. No pets allowed and strictly no smoking except on the terrace. Refundable breakages deposit of £100 required on booking, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection). 25% of rental fee due on booking with balance due six weeks before your stay. No cancellation refunds unless chalet successfully re-let (subject to £50 admin fee) The property and area is great for kids (we have four!) but toddlers and younger children may need close supervision as there are no stair gates or other toddler specific provisions NB: Prices may be subject to change at the advertiser's discretion.
