Description:Remodeled 1/1 condo just east of I-35 and a short drive or cab ride to SOCO and the downtown entertainment district. Our condo is located within a gated community just off of Riverside Drive in the up and coming South Shore District with ample free parking and a bus stop 1/3 of a mile away. Mexican food and margaritas half a block away at Baby Acapulco’s, pizza and burgers at Draft Pick Sports Bar and a new food trailer court right around the corner. Unit features beautiful tile floors, a private courtyard facing the park with a partial view of the lake and access to the community pool and lakeside dock. Enjoy a drink while watching the famous Congress Avenue Bridge bat colony fly directly overhead every evening, mid-March through November. The queen bed sleeps two and there is a sleeper sofa in the living room. I will consider hosting 4 guests for event weekends such as SXSW and ACL but prefer couples. Keep in mind that the one bathroom is accessed though the bedroom only so a small inconvenience for anyone sleeping on the sofa. It has a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, granite countertop, toaster and coffee maker. Our street is beautiful and calm with low rise brownstone buildings all along and there is an abundance of wonderful restaurants and shops all around. The apt itself is a duplex. I use the lower floor as an office. My assistant will be there Mon to Fri. She will able to help you for check in, check out, cell phone, SIM card and car service to airport. If you need cleaning, she can arrange that as well for $40 per day (laundry is additional $30 per load). For people who stays more than 5 days, every 5 days we will clean your place. ADDITIONAL FEES: There will be $100 cleaning fee due upon arrival. After first 2 people, additional person will be charged $10/night due upon arrival. This secluded Historic Rustic Cabin is located on a wooded 1-acre lot (1505 Edwards Blvd., New Braunfels 78132), just 1/2 Mile upstream from the Historic Gruene District, on a 140-foot span of the Guadalupe Riverbank. A rustic cedar privacy fence encloses the Cabin and private deck area with seating. The Cabin has its own private view of the surrounding woods and landscaped and lighted walkways. Additionally, the private deck has a large Weber Kettle Charcoal Barbecue Grill, with cooking utensils and self-starting charcoal provided. The interior of the Cabin has been completely redone, since its original construction as a 1940's Fishing Camp Cabin, which was the only structure originally on this property deeded by the original German Immigrants who settled in New Braunfels. Description:This home is being offered for long term, unfurnished. Congratulations, you are about to visit one of the best kept secrets in the world. San Miguel Allende offers beauty at every turn, intellectual and artistic stimulation of such high quality, and at such low prices, that it will knock your socks off! This is a world class destination. If you want art or languages classes, we can make suggestions, just ask! We have little stores on every street, but the Monday and Saturday open air markets are within 6 blocks, are lovely to shop at! Grab your market bags and straw hat, and all the fresh fruit and vegetables are at your finger tips. There is also an organic market and restaurant and art supply store a level mile away. You may bring your well behaved, non-noisy, medium sized or small, house-broken dog(s) with prior conversation and approval of owner. Artists, Writers, Creative Types: The studio (or wonderful office) is on the terrace with a full view of the Parroquia and skyline of San Miguel! The Southern windows open wide, the Northern wall is all window, with the top most part opening for extra ventilation. The Eastern wall is all most all glass, and has a large glass door and screen door. There is a ceiling fan, phone line, and intercom for answering the street door. There is a sink just at the entrance to the studio. The Western wall is solid but for 5 built in glass bricks, letting in a touch of afternoon sun. The terrace is a gorgeous rose (or whatever you want) garden. Bugainvillea, herbs, flowering vines, grow in pots on the terrace. Downstairs you have areas to have plants in the soil and in pots, as there are front and back courtyard garden areas and patios. For about $4 per hour you can have a house cleaner and the same for a gardener. The rent of $650 per month is for periods of one year or more...minimum rental is 6 months, and is billed at $750 per month. There is a dual water treatment system and pressurization, so the water is potable. In total, the house has 5 ceiling fans and 2 gas fireplaces. These are located in the living room and master bedroom. Except for the rooftop terrace and art studio or office, the home is entirely on one level, with walls of windows looking out to courtyard and patio gardens. The view from the terrace and studio is gorgeous, taking in mountains, greenbelt and the city skyline, including the Parroquia. The studio would also make a marvelous office, and it has an intercom to the street door and phone line, as do the master bedroom and kitchen. You will have: 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, Artist's studio or Office, huge walk in closet in master BR, bidet and tub in bathroom (shower over), and beautiful huge windows looking out to your patios. The alcove with doors off the dining room, makes a great computer 'room', and storage area. The master bedroom has a huge dressing room- closet with skylights. The second bedroom has a large domed, brick ceiling with copula skylight, and a wall of windows/door to the courtyard. The opposing wall is all built in closet and cupboards and drawers. A great office and/or 2nd bedroom. The half bath is located near the living room. There is a half bath in the laundry room as well. The common rooms are built with an open, but defined plan. The house is the larger of 3 casitas within high colonial walls, surrounding a courtyard. The 2 one bedroom apartments are separated from the main house by a fence with flowering vines. There is a shared laundry room. No pets are allowed in the apartments, but this house has ample outdoor room for medium sized or small Quiet pets. The first link here is for this, the main house. The others are for your information. The downstairs casita is rented for half the year to a retired college and high school teacher, the upstairs is rented to a retired professor emeritus, who lives here full time. The downstairs would be available to rent at a discounted rent as additional space, for yourselves or your guests when available. It is fully furnished, down to linens and dishes, etc. Our neighborhood is a typical Mexican colonia with little stores on every street, and with open markets on Saturday and Monday. The nearest good restaurants are a 15 minute walk, though there are little taco or gordita stands near by. Another 15 minute walk brings you into the center, where there are too many restaurants to count! There is a bus a half a block from the house that heads straight to the center. There are good places nearby for mountain bike riding. We are 2.5 blocks from a basketball court where Zumba is held each morning and evening, and a gym where you can pay 20 pesos ($1.60 u.s.)a visit, or 200 pesos ($16 US) for a month! It is not fancy, but is chock-full of good equipment. The owner is happy to give you personal instruction..almost like having a personal trainer, no extra charge! This house has never been smoked in...If it is important to you to smoke inside, and you are a long term tenant and double your deposit, we will permit smoking inside. We will require references, and a $1,000 security deposit, directly to us, which will be returned after your departure if there are no losses or damage, as well as first and last month's rent and a lease. One does not need a car in San Miguel, but should you bring one, there is on-street parking, and there are places scattered about town where you may rent off street parking. In fact, a very close neighbor may rent a space for your car if available. 6 months is the shortest rental term we will accept. We look forward to talking to you!
