Description:Hello, I have a private 2 bedroom apartment for rent in the Sunny Mission District. I also rent just the master bedroom or a private 1 bedroom apartment which you can see by clicking on my picture and scrolling down that page. The apartment has one master bedroom, a second bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen, a living room, the big outdoor patio, and a huge roof deck which has gorgeous views day or night. The living room has a LCD projector and a large 6' x 6' movie screen which rolls down and back up when not in use. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences including crushed marble countertops, dishwasher, gas stove, disposal, juicer, and even a cute built-in wine rack. It has everything one might need to bake or make a gourmet meal. The bath is finished in marble, has a pedestal sink, a deluge showerhead, and a marble bench in the shower in case you feel like a steam bath. The master bedroom is big and has a queen size bed, plenty of storage in the closet, bookcase, bureau, and bedside tables. It has a big sliding glass door that opens onto a 15ft x 20ft garden patio with BBQ and fire-pit. The second bedroom has a large window which faces a small green area, queen size bed, and a custom-made mini armoire/closet that locks for security. The apartment is about a 5 minute drive from either the 101 or 280 freeway and a 5 minute walk to grocery stores, a hardware store, fruit market, post office, UPS, CPMC/St. Luke's Hospital, museums, galleries, places for kids, all kinds of restaurants, a swimming pool, banks, clubs, underground places, a movie theater, fun dives, bookstores, parks, clothing stores, thrift shops, and the library. In other words, everything is very close and convenient. MUNI / Public transportation is half a block away on Mission Street or Valencia, BART is 5 blocks away, and the J Church street car is 2 blocks away. Downtown can be reached in about 20-25 minutes by public transportation. If you park west of my apartment you only have to move your car once a week for street cleaning the rest is 2 hour parking or metered. There is also a big roof deck for everyone to use with BBQ, weights, a weight bench, and of course, incredible views. I'm about a 30 minute walk to San Francisco General Hospital or a 10 minute bike ride and UCSF has free shuttles that go to all their other sites. That is the closest shuttle pickup just in case you're coming to SF for a fellowship or internship. 's closest shuttle pickup is only three blocks away in case you're here to work there either for an internship or permanently, or if you want to use that service to get down the peninsula, (for example, I believe they have a stop at Stanford/Palo Alto). Description:The Sunflower House is a spacious two-story residence in the heart of the traditional Catalan neighborhood of Poblenou in Barcelona, next to the beach. After 20 years of being the Blue Moon lamp factory, it it has been getting converted to an artistic type of loft space over the last three years. It has 3 double bedrooms, (2 upstairs, 1 downstairs) that can be rented individually or together. The house is in a quiet corner of a great little neighborhood: a block away from metro Poblenou (10 minutes to BCN center), buses, night bus, Bicing, the tram, shops, supermarkets and everything else you may need. The Mar Bella/Bogatell/Nova Icaría beaches are a short stroll down c/Bilbao or the beautiful tree-lined Rambla de Poblenou. The large reception/lamp exhibition space is now the living room, with big mirrored sliding doors to the kitchen. It has a dining room set, another desk, 2 couches, TV, VHS, DVD player and a large collection of VHS cassettes. There is no television reception, you can only watch movies. Also, there is a large collection of guide and history books of Spain, Catalunya and Barcelona in a variety of languages. The kitchen is big, sunny and has a large collection of international teas and spices, which guests are welcome to use. A BBQ outside and a large variety of pots and pans give the gourmet plenty of possibilities to make delicious meals. The guests have an entire fridge to themselves. Outside the kitchen is a small Andalusian-style patio, with lots of plants, herbs, a BBQ, two chairs and a table. There are three double bedrooms. The first two are on the top floor, the third one at ground level. We are in the process of painting murals in all the rooms. 1) The Study and Map Room: divided by a large wardrobe, the front of the room is covered with maps of the Barcelona and Mediterrenean region and has a big worktable in addition to the desk. A bookcase in the room holds an eclectic collection of National Geographics, assorted magazines, books and encyclopeadias. The bedroom in the back has a double bed, sidetables and individual reading lamps. This is the bedroom that does not have a mural (yet). We are planning a Flamenco music and dance mural in this room. 2) The Fantasy Room: a large mural featuring a coastal landscape at sunset dominates this room. On the walls are further decorations of planet-type orbs. To store clothes, suitcases etc. there is a large walk-in closet at the end of the room. The room has a double bed, a side table, 2 chairs, a wooden table and a desk. 3) Next to the entrance downstairs is the last bedroom, with a double bed, large table, chairs, a wardrobe and shelves. We are in the process of painting a large Cadaqués / Salvador Dalí mural in this room the days the room is not rented. It is possible to sleep two more in the living room on the fold out couch to accomodate 7 or 8 people in total. Perfect for a family, a small company or a group of friends. LGTB friendly. Pets and children are welcome. Behind the 3rd room is the artist studio/workshop and where I live/work with my fiancé, a carpenter. We will be on call for whatever questions or problems you may have during your stay, and hope to show you a bit of Barcelona, our favorite city! Internet is increasingly important, whether you are just traveling or also working remote. Just last month fiber optic cable got installed in the neighborhood, and we made sure this house got connected to it. We now have a 50 mega connection to ensure speedy access even if a lot of people in the house are using their computers, tablets etc. Also, for trans-Atlantic travelers, we have an American-European power converter. If you have a car, you can park it for free on the communal parking lot on c/Espronceda 2 blocks away, or for a fee on the streets. The area is a Green Zone. CANDLES: Only “flameless” candles allowed CHECK-IN: We provide our guests easy and convenient self check-in through our lock box entry system and electronic keypad locks. Immediately RETURN KEY TO LOCK BOX once you have opened the property gate, as the code is changed after each guests arrival. CHECK-OUT : Check-out is no later than 12:00 noon. Late check-out fee of $25 per each half hour effective 12:01 noon. No exceptions. This fee would be collected from the security deposit for this reservation. Thank you for your understanding. HOUSEKEEPING: We do not provide maid service or replenish housekeeping items during your stay. This is how we keep our rates low for you and also respect your privacy. KEYS: Guests are provided a key ring containing a key to their unit (or electronic lock code) two keys to East side guest entry pedestrian gate, safe code, and a flashlight. Never give keys or codes to unauthorized individuals! Always take your keys with you so you are not locked out! Always lock the gates. LAUNDRY: Onsite shared coin laundry. Not in unit. LEGAL DISCLOSURE: Guests are “lodgers” not “tenants” and agree to abide by all terms/rules set forth. Owner/management reserves the right to refuse or terminate lodging in the event guest(s) become disruptive, unruly, problematic, demanding, violent or threatening to others. Guests hold owner/management harmless against any legal actions. LOST AND FOUND (Donated to Charity): Check closet, drawers, safe, and floor to make sure you don’t leave anything behind as we do not mail lost and found items. Any left over food or beauty products that you choose not to take back with you can be left on the table, and will be donated to charity. MAIL: USPS does not deliver mail to non-residents. Mail may be left at the gate through a delivery service (UPS, Fed. Ex, etc.) but we will not sign for it or accept responsibility. OFFICE: Our on-site office (purple building) is open daily 10:00 AM-6:00 PM PST. If closed, contact us by email any time or by phone during those same hours only. PARKING: Free street parking provided in front of our property. There are no meters, restrictions, or parking fees. If all spaces are taken, park on our side of the street. PETS: Pets are welcome upon approval. Certain dog breed requirements due to liability issues. We can refer non-allowed pets to a local pet resort. Never leave small pets unattended outdoors in the early morning hours or after dusk, as coyotes roam the area. If you are staying in the Spanish Hacienda or Hollywood Loft, do not leave pets in the back yard alone on Thursday mornings, the day the gardener comes. No additional pets permitted without pre-approval. $100 refundable pet deposit required. POOL: No children alone in pool. No glass containers allowed in pool area. Bring pool towels/supplies in. Description:A note about my reviews: As of November 2011 a new water boiler and shower have been installed. There are now two aircon units for both heating and cooling. Hidden paradise in between the beautiful Catalan Music Palace and the Market Santa Caterina within an easy walk to all the great tourist attractions and transport. You are privately renting anentire apartment in the heart of the Old Town Barcelona. Secure ground floor space so no carrying your suitcase up thin winding stairwells... Small outdoor patio for smoking or a coffee. A renovated loft space on the ground floor with its own Roman arch. There are 3 beds and 1 bathroom (and a separate 2nd toilet) so more than comfortable for 4 with room for 6 when at a stretch. Exposed brick walls with modern kitchen and bath facilities. I´m happy for you to check in early or check out late if there are not other guests before or afterwards, otherwise check in is after 16:00 and check out before 10:00 to allow plenty of time for the flat to be professionally cleaned. You can always store your bags at my office where you will also pick up the keys. GoCar is less than 100m from the apartment. GoCar Tours Barcelona, Carrer Freixures 23. Open from 10:00 - 19:00 every day and from 9:00 - 21:00 from April - October. Public transport is available within 100m - metro L4 & L1 at Plaza Urquinaona although you will probably just walk everywhere. Walk 5 mins to Picasso Museum, Plaza Catalyuna and Ramblas.
