The ground floor level is approximately 3500 square feet. The first large living room is divided by arches into several alcoves for conversation centers. The other living room has a cozy fireplace and is equipped with a stereo. There's a formal dining room and a more informal breakfast room, with a family room besides with TV and game table. The kitchen is very well equipped with modern appliances including a 6 burner stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and clothes washer. 2 half baths complete this level. A grand wooden staircase leads to the upstairs wing which is approximately 1000 square feet. It includes 3 queen bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom, 2 single bedrooms, and 4 full bathrooms with shower of which one is ensuite. The external stone stairway takes you to the main upstairs wing (see Villa Operetta) which is approximately 2500 square feet in area. Here you will find another fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer and dishwasher. A formal dining room is adjacent. The spacious and lovely living room has TV and VCR. The large terrace is approximately 350 square feet and is equipped with table and chairs for eating outdoors. The view of the gardens and countryside is beautiful from here. The Chateau has origins dating back as far as the 14th century. The original founders were Italians in the service of the Popes of Avignon. Blending medieval Italian architecture with French style, this chateau to rent in Provence has become airy and spacious following successive renovations. A large, colonnaded stone courtyard - with pillars salvaged from neighboring Roman villas - welcomes you into the communal sitting room with its grand fireplace and vaulted ceiling. The sizable grounds are well maintained and incorporate elements of French landscaping, including a garden, an old fishpond and lavender fields. A nice sized shared swimming pool is available for guests. Located in the heart of Provence, Beau Chateau is ideal for those visitors to France looking to combine culture and history. Within easy reach are the fascinating towns of Avignon, Uzes, Nimes, Arles, Les Baux and St. Remy. Entrance to the chateau is via a long driveway lined with ancient sycamore trees, parking is abundant and located on site. Beau Chateau has three apartments, a cottage and three rooms available for guests, all carefully renovated with style and comfort in mind. nApartment Pilier sleeps four and is a single-level abode defined by the majestic stone pillar situated in the living area, which is comfortably furnished with a sofa, two armchairs and a coffee table. The two double bedrooms have ensuite facilities (one with a bathtub and the other with shower) and the kitchen is nicely equipped with a fridge/freezer, stove, oven and dishwasher. nConsisting of two levels, Apartment Mirador sleeps four and incorporates the large, square chateau tower revitalized in the 18th century by a renowned traveler. The sitting room boasts plenty of natural light and is comfortably furnished with chairs, a table and a large corner sofa. The kitchen is nicely equipped and includes a fridge/freezer, stove, oven and dishwasher. The main bedroom is on the first floor, up a flight of white-painted stairs, and offers a queen bed and a window with a wonderful view over the neighboring village. The second bedroom is located in the eves and consists of twin beds. A large shared bathroom comes with a double shower. nThe second apartment, Laurent cottage sleeps four in two double bedrooms (with either two twins or queen bed). Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, one with a bathtub, WC and separate shower and the other with a WC and shower. The kitchen is fully equipped (fridge/freezer, stove, oven and washing machine) and the large, living/dining area is comfortably furnished with tasteful decor. A glass door leads out onto a private terrace and small garden. (Please note, Laurent cottage is in a separate building, just to the left of the entrance to Beau Chateau). nThe Cottage More than an apartment, this is independent house from the 18th century has an enclosed garden and a private swimming pool. Access by a double staircase.The interior is decorated in a contemporary style. nIt is about 110 square meters, and has a spacious lounge/dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. nThere are 2 main bedrooms with bathrooms, and a small single room. nA shady terrace in paving stones is provided for you meals. nThe Monastic Room sleeps two and is furnished with a queen bed, large wardrobe and beautifully tiled shower room. Lit by two windows on the east side, the room overlooks the garden adorned with a magnolia tree and colorful hydrangeas. Access to the room is via the inner courtyard gallery. nThe Loggia Room sleeps four and is particularly well-orientated and extremely light, thanks to its two wide mullion windows and the round windows on the first floor. Ideal for a couple with one or two children, it comprises a queen bed on the ground floor plus a mezzanine with bunk beds. Also on the ground floor is a large shower room. Access is via a gallery from the internal courtyard. nThe spacious Garden Room is on the ground floor and sleeps two comfortably in a queen bed. It has a private garden with fig and magnolia trees and a contemporary bathroom with shower and WC. Access is either through the inner courtyard or directly through the garden. For large parties, a fully equipped communal kitchen is available for meal preparation. nA spacious, communal living/dining area with an enormous fireplace is also available for guests. nThe medieval village of Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres is surrounded by the famous vineyards of Cotes du Rhone and Lirac and is dominated by the fortified, Romanesque church at its center and the nearby Ribas Tower. The ramparts and feudal towers testify to the rich history and Roman influence bestowed upon the town.
