Description:Kalim Beach House was the very first beach house in Phuket, built long before any roads criss crossed the island with cars. Over the last 30 years, it has been added and improved to the point it is a wonderful relaxing beach house that sits comfortably on its private beach, rather than a purpose built Villa high-end on the hillside.The Villa sits directly on the sand at Kalim and enjoys breathtaking West Coast sunset views over Patong Bay. At high tide the water is good for snorkeling right in front of the Villa out to a protected reef. At low tide, the beach is rocky and exploring the rock pools and reef walking is best done with old sports shoes. No jetskis, no beach sellers, no hassle.This Villa is all about the beach and outdoor living. The 17 meter salt chlorinated swimming pool with built in Jacuzzi are right outside your lounge and the only thing between you and the beach all yours to enjoy. Surrounding the pool are modern pool recliners and oversized beach towels as well as a range of seating options and the poolside sala.On the lower level of the Villa are 2 bedrooms each with private ensuite. One of the bedrooms is a double, the other is a twin. On the top level are 2 double bedrooms that share a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a small lounge with flat screen TV and an extra fold out sofa bed which is ideal for any young children that might need supervision.The other bedroom is as close to the lapping water and sand as you can possibly get, and has a large folding glass doors that open out on to a private balcony with fantastic views of the ocean and across to Patong Beach. There is another single bedroom and a separate sofa bedroom that are available, but we recommend these only for children or maid staff as they are smaller rooms, but perfectly comfortable. All 6 bedrooms are fully air conditioned and furnished with lovely fresh linens and towels, as well as robes and slippers to relax around your Villa.The lounge opens up full width to the pool for maximum indoor/outdoor living. It has a large flat screen TV with DVD player and satellite connection to HBO, CNN, Star Sports, E, cartoon network and another 50 or so English speaking channels. Just send us your list of some movies you d like to see whilst you stay in the Villa and we ll be pleased to have them ready and waiting for you.The fully equipped kitchen is where you meals will be prepared by our resident Chef or you are welcome to use yourself. Her specialty is Thai food, but she can cook up a good English breakfast, poolside snacks or BBQ and whip up a tasty fruit shake. Just let us know what you would like to eat and we will buy it fresh daily at the markets and charge you only what it cost us. Preparation is complimentary. We will put bottled water and a few cases of soft drinks of your choice in the fridge for your stay, with our compliments. And if you want some things bought and waiting for you at the Villa before you arrive, just let us know and we ll be happy to do it for you.You can dine at the indoor dining table, or you can sit at the outside pool sala and have the best beachside dining in Phuket all in your private Villa. Both seat 10 people.If you must stay connected with the office during your vacation you have a few options. Description:Our collection of 12 villas are situated just a 10-minute stroll from the sand-dune backed beach of Campomarino, with all the comforts needed for a nice seaside holiday. Each villa has its own entrance, private gated parking, garden and terrace for eating al fresco. Each of the luxury self catering villas has three bedrooms and two shower-rooms. The villas come fully equipped with air-conditioning, linen, towels, TV, iron & iron board, kitchen utensils and washing machine. On arrival, you will find a bottle of local Italian wine on the table – and if you send us a shopping list in advance, we will ensure you have fresh, locally sourced food for your first Italian meal. You can reach the village of Campomarino di Maruggio by flying to either Bari (Palese) or Brindisi (Papola Casale) Airports with less than a 1.5hrs drive. The region of Puglia has 800km of stunning coastline, covering the entire heel of south of Italy. With the beach just around the corner, go-karting, snorkelling and horse-riding – not to mention all those gelaterias – there is something for the whole group.Puglia is the ‘heel of Italy’ – the long peninsula in the south of the country that juts out into the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas. The region is particularly popular in the summer months of July and August, when temperatures reach 30*C and above. In the quieter months of May, June, September and October, temperatures range between 20-25*C. Famed for its culinary produce – from olive oil to wine and from raw fish to 200 types of pasta – Puglia is known as the garden of Italy. The region is dotted with little white conical buildings called trulli, which were originally used as dry storehouses, but are now converted into dwellings. There are many historic towns to explore, with narrow mazes of streets and piazzas surrounded by Baroque ad Greek architecture. What to find nearby GROCERY SHOPPING: The two nearest supermarkets are just a five minute walk from the villas. PHARMACY: There is a local pharmacy a ten-minute walk from the villas and another in Maruggio, a slightly longer walk away or accessible by car. BARS AND GELATERIA: There are a few bars within walking distance from the villas – try ‘Il planet’ for excellent cocktails.A ten-minute stroll away from the villas is the beach bar Frutteria Annibale –perfect for a fresh fruit platter, an afternoon drink or a casual evening out. Combining a bar with an ice-cream parlour is a uniquely Italian concept: Panna e Cioccolato , La Meringa and Sandrino are all within walking distance of the villas. Our favourite bar gelateria is Panna e Cioccolato, especially for its ‘aperitivo’: try the refreshing combination of Aperol (a light version of Campari) and cedrata (made from a local citrus fruit called etrog). RESTAURANTS: For a light meal, head to a ‘rosticcerie’. Il Bomber and Rosticceria Longo sell ‘panzerotto’ (pastries filled with tasty tomato sauce and mozzarella) and ‘focaccia’ (delicious local bread topped with onions, olive oil, capers and black olives) and are just a few minutes’ walk from the villas.Le Piccole Ore is a family friendy restaurant favoured by locals. It offers an outside terrace or inside tables and serves traditional Italian fare.La Siesta is a family-run restaurant is known for its delicious traditional food and amazing wood-fired pizza oven in the heart of Sava, about 10km inland from Campomarino.Two of our favourite beachfront restaurants are situated between Campomarino and Torre Oveo. Both Elisir and Posto 9 (10-minutes drive) are relaxing family-friendly, and offer a variety of delicious dishes, from pizza to seafood.Surrounded by acres of olive groves and countryside, the “La 'nchianata Pub can offers delicious local food and a fantastic atmosphere. The restaurant is just a short drive towards Torre Ovo, following signs to Torricella. ACTIVITIES:Wine Tour - Cantine di San Marzano is one of the most modern wine production facilities in the south. The tour of the winery includes tasting, a visit to one of the more ancient vineyards and a potted history of the wine production in the area. During the ‘Cantine Aperte’ event, this winery opens the door over few days during which guided tours, tasting of wines, cultural events, music performances and dance. Diving - The Mare del Sud Diving Centre is 10 min walk from the villas, inside the Campomarino seaport. They organise dives at nearby San Pietro in Bevagna, where you can swim around the 22 white marble sarcophagi dating from AD150-300. Another interesting diving point is the Chidro river, a natural oasis of rare beauty. And to end the experience, they offer you a snack of ‘taralli’ (a pretzel-shaped breadstick) with a glass of wine. Snorkelling / diving: Only 50m off the sandy beach between Casalbate and San Cataldo is an incredible wreck, sunk by the Royal Navy in 1941. You can actually swim from room to room inside it. The turnoff is just beyond Torre Rinalda if you are heading towards San Cataldo. Go-karting - There are two go-karting tracks nearby: one between Torricella and Sava and another at nearby Maruggio, no more than a 15-mis drive. The villa is tucked away in a quiet enclave surrounded by expats living in Bali long term. There is a general store within 1 minute walk, clothes stores, spas, restaurant, bars and clubs all within walking distance. The choice of them all being La Plancha on the beach for cocktails and sunsets on their beanbags.Each bedroom is large and has a queen size bed, crisp cotton linen, wardrobe and A/C. The open plan living/kitchen area is simply appointed with Indonesian furniture and features a TV with DVD player.
