Description:THE MAIN COTTAGE on Badour Island, was designed and built by Jonathan Rousham and was written up in Fine Homebuilding.It is a beautiful post and beam cottage, with windows everywhere. The floors are pine, there is an open plan kitchen, dining room, and living room. A wood burning stove sits in the middle of the large room. The ceilings are two floors high, with a second set of windows on all four sides 16 feet high. It looks like a pagoda.There are three small bedrooms. One flight up is a bedroom with a queen size bed, surrounded on three sides by windows. photo below . The 4th side overlooks the living room. It is like a crows nest, which was one name we thought of for the building.On the main floor, are two bedrooms, each with a wall of windows. One has a very expensive and especially comfortable queen size bed below The bathroom is on the main floor and has a shower and fancy flush compost toilet that operates like a normal toilet.The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, trash compactor, and just about any spice you can imagine. There are many pots and pans, including a wok, and many small appliances such as a cappuccino machine, coffee grinder, coffee maker, waffle maker, electric ice cream machine, Sunbeam mixer, blender, toaster, microwave, food processor etc.We have a water purification system and the water is safe to drink from all the faucets. We also have a water cooler, which takes the 5 gallon water bottles.There is a large deck across the front of the cottage that wraps around to the back where there is a new Napoleon gas bbq. There are hammocks and swinging chairs on the property. There are tables to eat out on the deck and chairs to relax in as you take in the beautiful view of the lake.In back of the cottage is a shed with a washer and dryer, a half size basketball court with mural, and an outdoor hot shower.The dock 79 steps down has a deck with two Adirondack chairs, a swinging bench and a chaise lounge, a shed with refrigerator for cool drinks and storage for tubes, fishing poles, water skis and paddles.The cottage is equipped with a kayak and a canoe. We share a paddleboat with the little cottage on the rock Isaacs Acres , two minutes away by canoeWe compost our fruits and vegetables in a composter in the back of the cottage, not only for environmental reasons, but to limit the trash that we collect. All trash has to be brought to the dump. The trash compactor considerably limits the amount. We also recycle.The dining table seats 8 comfortably, but can be extended to fit 10, 12 or even 16 by adding on any of the three outdoor tables that are the same height and width.Most people bring their iPods, but there is a CD player in the living room. Alongside the path lay more beautiful pebble beaches and throughout the vicinity numerous coves with crystal clear water are scattered.Virtually everything you need is within very short walking distance – restaurants, bars, bakeries, pizzerias, supermarkets, open market (fresh fish, fruits and vegetables), rent-a-car (also bikes and motorcycles), post office, bank, pharmacy, open air cinema... Sport facilities are also steps away from the house – diving, snorkelling, cayaking, water skiing, jet skiing, banana boating... Tennis courts, scuba diving and wind surfing centre are also within walking distance. But Bol is not about some of the most exquisite Adriatic beaches only. The little town (population ca. 1600) is dotted with small parks and numerous sculptures of local artists. The medieval town centre is not extensive, but, like everything else, it is spotlessly maintained. All neccessities are within easy reach. A visit to any of the seafood restaurants is a must – one can enjoy fresh delicacies on the very seashore. Quality local products include virgin olive oil and highly praised red wine, Bolski plavac. Bol has an average of 2600 sunshine hours a year and July sea temperature is usually around 25 degrees C. Daily breeze changes make air temperature quite enjoyable.Split Airport is about 50 km away plus a 50 min ferry ride from Split to Supetar, Brac. Ferries are very frequent. Air taxi between the two airports can be arranged. There is also daily high speed passenger ferry from Split to Bol. Description:The Villa Belvedere is a brand new building with only 4 units. It is conveniently located a 5 minute walk from the center of town. A few quick steps outside your front door and you'll have the choice of two of the beaches of the island. In 10 minute walk you will find yourself on the best beach of the island, Podvrske beach. There is a small parking area and kayak rentals. Causeway leads out to a small island with many wonderful spots for swimming and snorkeling. At the end of the day, stroll back to your luxury apartment and enjoy a glass of wine on an ocean-view balcony before walking to main part of town to enjoy a drink or alfresco seafood dinner at one of the many bars and restaurants along the waterfront. While you never need to leave Murter to enjoy a complete vacation, you can venture out and enjoy a wonderful day trip to Split or other destination along the Dalmatian coast. Alternatively, hire a boat at the marina and spend the day exploring the Kornati Island National Park, consisting of 89 islands, just off of Murter. KORNATI ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK is a group of about 130 islands, islets and reefs sprinkled in the deep blue sea of the Adriatic covering an area of about 64 square km. The Kornati have no permanent inhabitants, although the present owners from nearby larger Dalmatian islands periodically visit Kornati to tend their vineyards and olive groves, bringing their sheep to graze. The sea around the islands is rich with fish and a variety of marine life.... The islands have no spring water, only rainwater collected in water holes. The unique feature of the islands lies in their rugged shores with many caves and coves. The landscape of chalk limestone is covered with bushes of rosemary, juniper, lavender, thyme, myrtle and sage. Besides making trips to the National Park, exploring the countryside and seeing what sport opportunities there are is also recommended. As already mentioned there are many water sports you can join here like sailing, water skiing, windsurfing...Nautical center is situated in Šibenik where you can get all detailed information. We must not forget diving around Kornati, since it is a really special event, as is also the rafting on the river Cetina. Rafting on the river Cetina is a special adventure where you can see the karst area by the river and test your adventure spirit. For the brave and those who search a true adventure there is bungee jumping from the Sibenik Bridge.
