Golf Algarve is known for it's abundant golf courses. Within a 20km radius there are 7 courses to choose from. Nearest is Benamor ((website hidden)) 20 minutes away and two other championship courses are a further 5 minutes along the same road and can be reached easily (Quinta da Ria). The prestigious new course of Monte Rei ((website hidden)) was designed by Jack Nicklaus. Traveling only 10kms further on towards Spain, the challenging course of Castro Marim, approximately 25 minutes away. Just across the border are the Costa Esuri and Quinta do Vale (designed by Severiano Ballesteros) courses now growing in popularity. There are many more golf courses within easy reach. If you wanted a change or a day out you could go along the west coast, where there are many more prestigious courses, and are easily accessible in around 30/60 minutes along the A22 motorway.
