Description:This fully furnished one-bedroom Silverlake apartment is a 1920's style, with hardwood floors, high ceilings, and it's flooded with a great deal of warm afternoon light. There is plenty of space to hang out or work in the large living room, and there's a full kitchen equipped with a great antique stove and a cozy dining space. No roommates here, unless you count the house plants you will have the whole place to yourself! Amenities include: - Full-sized bed - Gas heater - Bathroom with shower/bath (good water pressure on the shower head) - Coin-operated Washer/dryer on the premises (about 3 feet from your door) - High Speed Wi-Fi - Record player (and records) slash CD/radio/iPod player - Guitar - All utilities included in the price (gas, water, electric, internet) -There is a secure parking space available, for an extra $75 per month The location is ideal, as you are in the thick of Silverlake and you can walk in moments to all of the Sunset Junction locations including Cafe Stella (great French food), Intelligentsia (amazing coffee), Forage (farm-to-table California cuisine), and Berlin Currywurst (in a word: Bratwurst). If you walk in the other direction, you'll hit Cafe Organecito, another great coffee spot. If you hop in your car, you are a 2-3 minute drive from a number of amazing locations: Los Feliz (where you can have a cocktail and a great Italian meal with Jon Hamm at Little Dom's, then drink an excellent glass of wine at Bar Covell) Griffith Park (where you can watch a concert at the Greek Theater, take a hike, or play tennis or golf) Echo Park (where you can catch a concert at the Echo or the Echoplex, buy a record at Origami Vinyl, take a dance class at the Sweat Spot, or buy a great used book at Stories). You are also about a 7 minute drive from the rest of Hollywood. That's close enough to enjoy all of the benefits, but far enough so you are not stuck in the madness! If you're a public transportation guy/gal, you are about 4 city blocks from the metro station, which goes Downtown and to the Valley, and a number of bus stops are closer than that, 1-2 blocks away. It's a large, bright, happy space, and all of the benefits of Silverlake are close to your doorstep!... more info >>

Amenities: * Wireless Internet Connection * Lockers * Housekeeping Maid Service * Kitchen Privileges Directions: North Hollywood Station (Metro Red line). Last Stop North Hollywood! Depart the North Hollywood Metro station. Proceed to street level and head south on Lankershim Blvd. towards Magnolia Blvd. Reviews: I loved staying at the Chateau. I was weary at first and didn't know what to expect, but Gary made me feel very comfortable and provided me with so many resources that it made for an easy adjustment. The location in North Hollywood was very convenient with access to the freeway, shops, restaurants, etc. The other guests staying at the Chateau were great and provided me with a sense of close community I couldn't get by staying somewhere else. I attended Acting Corps during my stay and found out that many of my other suite mates were doing the same so it made it fun and interesting. I met people from all over the world there with all different backgrounds and ended up having a great experience. A Gary was the nicest guy I had met in LA when I checked in. I went there because it was cheap like nothing else in LA and everyone was just like me, a stranger in pursuit a dream and themselves. It was a great stepping stone. I was pleaseantly surprised by Chateau de Soleil so much that I cancelled a two day reservation at another hostel and extended my stay at the Chateau. I found the manager Gary extremely helpful and chatty, and he provided me with assistance beyond the simple practicalities of the stay itself (such as directions, printing a few documents etc.). My stay was in the low season there were plenty of open beds which probably have given me a different experience than someone arriving in the peak season when the place is buzzing. The atmosphere is relaxed and most of the people living here were long term residents who studied in the neighborhood (mainly actors, directors, dancers etc). If you're expecting to meet tons of new people to do things with and party all the time, then this place might not be for you (at least in the off season ,can't speak for the peak season). On the other hand if you're looking for a good and cheap place to live along with a bunch of other nice people then I highly recommend you to consider staying at the Chateau. The location is not that bad, but don't expect to walk out the front door and be in the middle of all the action. Personally I didn't mind walking for 10 15 minuttes to and from the North Hollywood metro station. There's a police station right across the street, so you feel pretty safe safer than a lot of other places I can imagine. Add on Services Free Wifi Lockers Free House Keeper... more info >>
