Description:My fully furnished studio is in downtown Oakland in a quiet, yet urban neighborhood between City Center and Lake Merritt. There are 3 BART (subway) stations within easy walking distance, as well as buses to Berkeley and San Francisco. My place is close to shopping, restaurants, bars/pubs, ArtMurmur, the Main Library, Lake Merritt and farmers' markets, the Oakland Museum, the marinas for boat rentals and Jack London Square. There is coin-op laundry in my building, bike parking, wi-fi, and a cuddly cat. There is a balcony and lots of sun. There is usually pretty easy street parking if you have a car. Small, well-behaved dogs are welcome for short stays. My place easily sleeps 3. There is a double bed and a sleeper-sofa. I do live in the house and I'm happy to host 1-3 people. Sometimes I go on vacation for extended periods (I will make sure I edit the posting) and would be willing to rent while I'm not there, I'd just like you to arrive while I'm still there so that I can show you the ropes. I am a super host for a single or a couple if you don’t mind sharing the space (about 450 sq ft) with me. Downtown Oakland is really underrated! There are some amazing restaurants, live music, concert venues, and bars nearby. There is always something fun happening around the Lake. Description:Hey travelers! Thanks for checking us out! We have a huge 800 sq ft 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment in the middle of Downtown Berkeley. The location simply cannot be beat (corner of MLK and University) - a five minute (or less) walk to BART, movie theatres, gyms, bars, and Cal! The place itself is sort of funky - sits nicely on top of a sushi restaurant and has super high ceilings. Inside you'll find a huge living room stacked with two large couches (one large enough to sleep on) and a gigantic flat screen tv. Help yourself to unlimited cable, dvds and books galore! The kitchen and bedroom are set away from the living room so you can be loud in one room without disturbing the other. The bedroom is furnished with a full size bed and plenty of floor space for a blow up mattress or for people who just really love sleeping on the floor. The kitchen is fully loaded with everything people need in kitchens. We have an electric stove :( but we make up for it with our incredible kitchen aid mixer. Bake away! This apartment is is clean, safe, and in a fabulous location. It may not be the fanciest thing out there - but you really can't beat the price (which could potentially be negotiable). We have two weeks free in August (8th-22) where you can rent the whole house from us. Otherwise we can rent out the couch to individuals for $20-30 a night. I am traveling on and off between January and August 2012 and can let you stay in my 1 bedroom for very little as I am just trying to offset the cost of my travels. I have a really cute 1 bedroom in the Temescal neighborhood, in the East Bay, a couple of blocks away from the subway (Bart) in a residential neighborhood. It's 15 minutes Bart ride to downtown San Francisco and a 10 minutes Bart ride to the Berkeley campus. I have Wifi, a large flat screen TV with Apple TV (in the bedroom) and possibly parking if my car is leaving on my trip with me. I can be easily reached while you stay in my place and just ask that you be respectful of my things and my neighbors :) Also, if you're looking for nightlife and don't feel like barting to SF, I am five minutes walking to all the restaurants and bars in Temescal, the hipster area of oakland.... more info >>
