Description:Villa Eleonora is named after the type of falcons that swoop over its elevated position above the unspoiled hill village of Glossa (only 10 minutes away with ite28098s shops and tavernas). Its private location feels secluded, despite its proximity to the beaches, the port , the Mamma Mia church and the village itself, and the Villa is not overlooked by anything but the birds! n nThe views are truly staggering taking in the islands of Evia and Skiathos the Pelion, away to the mainland as far as Mt Parnasus and of course down to the village of Glossa and its port of Loutraki too. n nThe Villa itself is built in the traditional style of the island ,with opened beamed ceilings of chestnut and pine , wooden balconies and tiled roofs , but with a modern clean touch and a high spec of equipment, accessories and bedding,. There are plenty of outside spaces ,verandahs, terraces , tables, seating areas and a barbecue to enjoy and eat alfresco in the wonderful climate of this Greek Island paradise. n n nNotes on accommodation nBoth bedrooms are light and airy and have beautiful views. Both are equipped with two way air conditioning. The bed linen and towels are from the White Company. The ceilings are tastefully finished with painted wood, there are chests of drawers in each and ample storage. The bedrooms are suitable for children. There are radiators in both bedrooms and both bathrooms. Guest are welcome to use the open fire in the sitting room as they wish. All wood is included. n nAccessibility nDue to the situation of the property on the apex of a hill, and the steep slopes around the house, it is not suitable for wheelchair users, or indeed people with mobility difficulties. Car hire is necessary. I can recommend a local family run car hire company. n nOutside nThe house has been specifically designed to offer guests the maximum benefit of outdoor living. The balcony runs along two sides of the house and faces south west. Measuring 3m wide x 9m long at the front it provides a perfect space to entertain and dine alfresco whilst taking in the stunning view over loutraki harbour and the bay beyond. There is a sizable patio area on the ground floor level, complete with tables, chairs, awnings and sun loungers. The barbecue area is located to the rear of the house, and is replete with bbq/sink/fr. The pergola style roofing, and soft outdoor furnishings allow for a cool and relaxed dining alternative when the sun is at its zenith! The private swimming pool below measures 8x4m and looks out over the bay below. It is enclosed by railings, with a latched gate to restrict access by underage children. The property extends to 2.5 acres set out in terraces, gardens and indigenous trees, and therefore provides guests with privacy, space and seclusion. nCoast/Beach nOur nearest swimming beach is a fifteen minute drive from the house. It is a sheltered, pebbles and sandy, clean and safe beach. This beach adjoins the village and is therefore close to amenities such as shops and restaurants. There are scores of small, private beaches and coves that are ideal for bathing and picnics to be found on both sides of the island as close as ten minutes from the house. They are accessible by foot, car and boat. nSpecial interest holidays nThe island also offers great Mountain biking, walking and Bird watching. A five minute taxi from the airport will take you to the ferry/hydrofoil ticket office, which offers regular ferry/hydrofoil connections to Loutraki and takes no more than 30/20 minutes. Description:This 230 m2 residence is built on two levels and has a ground floor and a first floor. Internally the levels are connected by a wooden staircase but they can also function independently via their exterior entries. All the rooms have large wooden French windows, as well as windows with double panes and screens. The first level floor is made of wood, in the local tradition, and the ceilings are supported by trunks of pine and cypress. The ground level floor is set with marble and the ceilings are of traditional Lefkas island white wood. The paint and plastering of the walls and ceilings are based on natural materials that allow the underlying elements to breathe. Their soothing colors add to the serene atmosphere. On the first level there is a living room, a kitchen and a bedroom with a bathroom. The living room is spacious with an exceptional view and has a large couch (seats 5), manufactured with ecological materials, that can be changed into a comfortable bed (0.90 x 2.40 m). There is also a traditional black iron wood stove, TV, DVD and CD players. The kitchen, at one end of the living room, has a large dining table and chairs and is completely equipped with a big refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and coffee machine. The bedroom is fully equipped with a double wooden bed (1.70 x 2.10 m), headrest, mattress and support chosen for their ecological materials. It also has bedside tables, dressing room, wardrobe, armchair, iron and ironing board, TV, DVD and CD players. The bed faces the 2 m wide French windows which open onto a large veranda with a view to the sea and the islands Ithaca, Cephalonia and several smaller ones. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi and a hair dryer. The bathroom floor is marble and the wall tiles are handmade. Descending the internal wooden staircase from the first floor to the ground floor we find a central room which has a double sofa bed (1.40 x 2.00 m), and an armchair bed (0.90 x 2.00 m), a small range, dishwasher, a small walled refrigerator and a coffee machine. In this space there is also a separate WC and a small storage closet. On either side of this room there is a bedroom with an adjoining bathroom. Each bedroom has two large separate beds (1.00 x 2.10 m) which can be joined into a double bed (2.00 x 2.10 m) without a gap in between. The rest of the bedroom equipment is the same as in the bedroom of the top floor. The adjoining bathrooms are the same as the top floor bathroom and both have a Jacuzzi. The bedrooms have big French windows which open onto a roofed stone veranda that leads to the courtyard and swimming pool area. The residence has its own rectangular 4 x 10 m swimming pool, 0.80 to 1.6 m deep with steps. Around the pool, there is a 100 m2 lounge area with deck chairs and umbrellas. There are more outdoor lounges, BBQ and a parking space in front. There is air conditioning in every room. However, the excellent microclimatic conditions of the region, the summer breeze and the local winds, in combination with the orientation of the house and the arrangement of the exterior openings ensure natural cooling even during hot summer days, and render air conditioning unnecessary. There is Wi-Fi Internet access in the villa.
