Description:The house sits on a very private .65 acre lot at about 800 feet in elevation on a dead end road. The neighborhood is very quiet and this house is perfect for those looking for a quiet place to relax. This house is not suitable for large social gatherings or parties . Our home is in the perfect location for enjoying the fabulous Hawaiian weather - hot and sunny during the day, and cool and breezy once the sun goes down. Private, quiet and secluded, yet only 10 minutes from the Alii Drive beaches, the Keauhou resorts, golf, shopping and the restaurants in Kailua-Kona town. A five to ten minute drive up the mountain is Holualoa which is home to a small market, an upscale restaurant and several art galleries. The property has mature tropical landscaping, saltwater pool and three 100 year old Monkey Pod trees. This provides the home itself with great shade and seclusion, yet leaves the pool area open to full sun. A large yard with tropical fruit trees and native island plants will make you feel like you are staying in your own private paradise with lots of native birds and geckos to enjoy. In the home itself, the upstairs of has a screened in lanai that runs the entire length of the main house and offers ocean views and a view of the pool area below. This large lanai has a dining table, a seating area and a regulation size pool table. One end of the lanai opens up to the family room with comfy sofas and chairs situated to enjoy entertainment on the 60' flat screen TV. The other end of the lanai opens up to the gourmet kitchen. There are two bedrooms upstairs - the master suite has ocean views with a king size bed, Tempurpedic mattress, flat screen TV, and private master bath with a jetted tub and separate shower. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen bed, Tempurpedic mattress and an adjacent full bathroom. All of the bedrooms have ceiling fans to ensure a great night's sleep. The downstairs of this home has two bedrooms, a central seating area, and a separate entrance to the home. One downstairs bedroom has a king size bed, and the other is our 'kids room' with a twin day bed and a full folding bed couch. The kids room also has a flat screen TV with DVD player, and lots and lots of board games, puzzles, etc. There is a large full size 'jack and jill' bathroom between the two bedrooms that can be accessed easily from both bedrooms. There is also a separate Cottage unit down by the pool, if you are wanting a 5th bedroom. It has a king size bed, flat screen TV, Bluray DVD player, mini fridge, coffee maker, and a full bathroom with a stand-up shower. It does require you to descend a stone staircase (as does the pool) so it's something to keep in mind when renting. Outside the kitchen there is a nice outdoor patio with a gas grill and seating area for dining. The patio leads down the lighted stairs to the pool area and ohana, and is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the sunsets and ocean view. We have done everything necessary to make this home a fabulous place to stay and relax. As a gourmet cook, my wife has ensured that the kitchen is not lacking in any amenity that you might need for preparing wonderful meals and beverages. The gas range, dishwasher and large refrigerator with ice maker are all that I would require, but she has made sure that everything from a rice cooker to a Quisanart are available for your cooking needs. In addition, the home is stocked with enough dish-ware so folks won't ever need to worry about running out of clean plates or wine glasses. The family room room is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a movie or sporting event once the sun goes down. The room is set up to allow you to enjoy the entertainment while playing pool. Adjacent to the great room is a library or office room where you can set up at the desk to do some work. There is a printer/scanner available for use, and Wi-Fi. The area that gets the most use is the large screened in lanai. It is a wonderful place to sit and read, watch the sunset, play enjoy a meal with family and friends. W15065750-01... more info >>
