Description:Aloha. We have a wonderful and unique solar Hawaiian home, furnished, for a 6 month rental on the Big Island to make your dream come true! This is your chance to experience green, eco-friendly simple living and be in touch with your environment. Available from June 1 to December 1. Eight acres of paradise, 30 minutes from Hilo, with a wrap around covered lanai (porch) with director's chairs and hammock and multiple views of ocean, banana groves, coconut palms, citrus, liliokoi, mango, papaya trees and more as well as a household organic garden at your doorstep. We are three miles from the water, surfing and soaking hot ponds or snorkeling at the tide pools, two miles from Lava Tree Park and next door to a yoga center. Warning: It is so peaceful, you may have no desire to go anywhere while you are here! There is a 16 x 20 deck for sun bathing, yoga and star gazing. We have one queen bed in the large main bedroom/sitting room upstairs and a single and also hammocks for naps or guest on the lanai. Two smaller bedrooms downstairs for your guests and an office room, and a second bathroom (one up and one down) and ping pong table. Description:Our little cottage is partially tucked under a big Banyan tree. The back wall is all screened and looks out into the gardens. It has a magical feeling of being a part of nature. It has a queen size bed, linens, kitchen counter with a double stainless sink, 2 burner propane stove, coffee press, dishes, pots, blender, cooler,a private hot outdoor shower, and indoor bathroom with a toilet. All of the purified Hawaiian rain water that you'll need is provided for you. Snorkel gear is available, as well as wifi internet. It is featured with a gorgeous stained glass window. The cottage has a very peaceful feeling. Located just off of the historical Red Road on the southeast coast of the Big Island, which is the sunniest part of the east side of the island. Just a few miles away from where the lava is flowing down the mountain, creating the newest land on earth! This is truly an awesome part of the Big Island that most people don't venture out to see! Only a 7 minute walk down to Kehena black sand beach, where you can swim with the dolphins, or just sit and watch them play. A 15 minute drive to the warm pond, where you can soak your bones in water that is thermally heated by the volcano. 20 minutes to Kapoho tidepools, where you can snorkel at one of the best spots on the island with it's many varities of fish and corals. 20 minutes to Pahoa town for groceries, gas, banks, restaurants, etc. 45 minutes to Hilo, and 55 to Volcano National Park. Description:A cozy one bedroom, one bath cottage with an open floor plan kitchen/dining/living room is your home base for exploring the Kalapana Coast on the Big Island. The manager and local artist, Heather Wilkinson, lives next door in a two-story house in Seaview Kalapana Estates with her wily cat Mr. Undertoes. Heather will be your source for how to get the most out of your stay on the Puna (east side) of the island. Your unit accommodates up to two persons with a full size bed in the bedroom and a single size futon in the living room. The kitchen is equipped with dishware, pots and pans, etc. and has a microwave oven, coffee maker, gas stove and refrigerator. Parking is provided just outside your front door. Wireless internet is complimentary and coin operated washer and dryer are located outside your back door under a spacious covered patio common area. But you may prefer to dry your clothes on your breezy patio clothesline. The atmosphere here in Puna is totally laid back, friendly, and in tune with Nature. A local Saturday market with the island's freshest produce is within walking distance. Wednesday evenings another local market in Kalapana welcomes the community with dinner sold by a couple dozen food vendors and live Hawaiian music. Kahena Black Sand Beach is only a three minute drive from the Ohana and many great attractions including flowing lava, warm ponds , snorkeling, surfing, and steam bathing are within easy driving distance down the Red Dirt Road, which is actually paved now. Heather and Mr. Undertoes invite you to experience a unique lifestyle in Seaview Kalapana Estates. Important additional information Upon arrival you will need to pay Heather the cleaning fee and a refundable damage deposit. Four blocks from ocean cliffs (sorry, not safe for swimming but terrific view). Cottage is located at the top white dot on the right at the very top edge of the aerial view. The studio has a queen size bed, cork floor, new bathroom and kitchen area. Includes wireless high speed Internet, cable TV, DVD player, new quiet ceiling fan, refrigerator with large separate freezer, coffee maker, blender, microwave, toaster, electric tea kettle, utensils, dishes etc. Please note there is no stove but there is a propane BBQ grill. Extra pillow in closet. Beach towels and beach chairs are included as well as two sizes of coolers for day trips. A phone is available in the main house for outgoing calls. Cigarette smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property. Covered parking area to protect your vehicle (and you) from rain and sun. Nearby attractions include flowing red lava, the Hot Ponds, Kapoho tide pools, Lava Tree State Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Kaimu black sand beach, and the quaint village town of Pahoa with several small but excellent places to eat including a health food store. If you want to be adventurous, you may travel half the island for $1.00 on the Hawaii County Hele-On Bus System. Talk about convenience, the bus can be waved down just in front of the guest house between 7 am and 9 pm. The house has a full kitchen equipped with everything you need to prepare gourmet meals, with gas range and oven, Gas BBQ Grill on the Lanai, dishwasher and ice water and ice dispenser in the refrigerator. This property is connected to the city and county water system. In addition, purified water from a water filtration system is provided in the kitchen for your comfort and health. We also provide, ironing board and steam iron, hair dryer, towels, beach towels, two small coolers, and umbrellas. We also provide covered beach chairs, beach umbrellas, boogie board, and foam flotation devices. A Playpen/bassinet and two high chairs are provided for babies and toddlers. Child appropriate toys are available by request at no additional cost. An extensive Karaoke library and Karaoke Sound System is provided for your entertainment. DVD Movies, Children Appropriate Programs, Documentary's, CD Music collection and Play Station 2 Game unit /games are included. Alarm clock radios at each bedside and an Ipod docking station are also provided for your pleasure. We live at the main house and are able to assist you with any house matters or questions about the island.
