Description:This villa offers both rural setting but also walking distance to a village. It has a small private beach, a terrace over the water, a garden, outdoor dining under the wisteria vines, and easy access to Arona and Stresa. La Nuvola is an excellent choice for guests who want to be able to walk to a village. nLa Nuvola is located on the statal road, in the village of Meina, with a private garden (1000 sqm) of roses and magnolias right on the lakeshore. Sunbathe on the large terrace that sits over a small secret harbor. The lake can be accessed from the small private beach just a few steps away. There is a small fishpond in the garden. It is not very large, just a couple of metres in diameter, but guests with small children should be aware of it (and we assume that you would not leave small children alone in a garden with direct lake access). nAs with all houses in the village, there can be some noise from people and traffic. The lake road runs right behind the house, but the back of the house faces the road, and once you step into the garden, you will not feel to be in a noisy place. Only one room (the second floor twin) has windows facing the road. nJust behind the villa is a good and inexpensive pizzeria, and a sport center with tennis and pool is located approx. 300 metres away. Within 700 metres you can find good grocery shops and restaurants, and you can order delicious take-out meals at the nearby gastronomic shop. A bus stop is five minutese28099 walk. Two golf courses are within 10-15 minutese28099 drive, with several others less than an hour away. Just 10 km north is the elegant town of Stresa. Stresa calls invitingly to visitors: the Belle Epoch is now covered by patina, and the plaster is crumbing off the walls but to this day Stresa still exudes the elegance of a fin-de-sic3a8cle bathing resort. In the 19th century, the little town on the west shore of the lake was one of Italy's noblest spas. Arona is 4 km south. nMeina has a ferry connection to the other lake towns and islands docks. Day excursions to the Borromean and Brissago Islands, to Riviera Cannero, the romantic Lago di Orta with the San Giulio Island or the botanical gardens at the Villa Taranto are only a few of the many options. Switzerland is just half an hour away. Sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing as well as excellent golfing can be found nearby. In just one hour by train or car, you can spend the day shopping in the e2809cgolden fashion trianglee2809d of Milan. nThe bus stop is near to the house and you have connections to the Arona railway station from where you can easily reach Milan. Therefore, this accommodation is suitable if you wish to travel without a car: From the main station in Milan there is a direct, regular train connection (Cisalpino) to Arona, from where you can take a taxi for the last 4 km to the property. Once arrived you can make day trips by taxi or by bus.... more info >>

In winter, in the sunniest areas such as Tremezzina, the temperature is never too cold. In summer, the warm weather is mitigated by cool lake breezes. nWhat to see: In Como, the Cathedral and Piazza S.Fedele with many 400-year-old buildings and the Basilica, one of the masterpieces of the Maestri Comacini (masters of Como). The very austere church of San Abbondio or the early Romanesque Basilica of San Corpoforo. Before leaving Como, be sure to take the cable car up to Brunate for a truly spectacular view. From Como, going north along the left shore it 's just a short drive to Cernobbio, whose old town features a delightful collection of picturesque houses and narrow alleys. This is the site of the fictional Villa Balbianello, the elegant family-home-cum-pensione featured in the film A Month by the Lake. Nearby is one of the grandest hotels in all of Europe, the Villa D 'Este, whose rooms are almost like museum galleries and whose grounds boast Italy 's only floating swimming pool. Up the road is Toriggia, where you can visit Villa Passalacqua, a late 18th-century home where Vincenzo Bellini once stayed. nAs you travel north you 'll see Como 's only island, Isola Comacina (St. John 's Day, the week end after June 24th is celebrated with a mass in the ruins of the S. Eufemia basilica, followed by a costumed procession and night-time fireworks). nLake Como is renowned for its exquisite villas, and probably the most famous one is Villa Carlotta, a perfect combination of luxurious interiors (beautiful stuccos, lovely ceiling frescoes and a great art collection, including an Eros and Psyche by Antonio Canova) and luxuriant exteriors (over 500 species of plants, trees and shrubs from all over the world). nTremezzo is another lovely lakeside town. There 's a classic lakeside promenade, as well as many wonderful old villas (some of which have been converted to hotels), and it 's from here you can take a car ferry over to Bellaggio and Varenna, on the opposite shore. nOn the southern shore is Bellaggio, la perla del lago (the pearl of the lake), considered by many to be the most beautiful town in Europe. Its narrow cobbled streets, breathtaking views, impeccable homes and glorious villas make it a most enchanting spot to spend your own unforgettable Month by the Lake. nSpecialties: Obviously, the lake cuisine is based on fish. Its most famous specialties are: misultitt, that is fish soaked in special containers called misolte, soused fish, which is first fried and then pickled, crispy fresh water fish and other typical dishes like risotto con pesce persico (rice with perch) fillet and smoked trout in oil. On the lake shore, particularly in the area called Tremezzina, first quality vegetables like asparagus from Rogano are grown.... more info >>

The house, before being restored as a modern house, used to be part of agricultural estate which nowadays no longer exists. In their large and beautiful home the owners have created two small studio apartments, which are a great place to return to after a long day of sightseeing, especially if you are travelling on a budget. n nThe complex can be reached by bus or by car. Water skiing is also available, and there is an 18-hole golf course 30 minutes away. From Chevrio (a 15-minute drive) you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Como . Several cafes and restaurants, as well as shops, are available in the center of Bellagio (a 5-minute drive or a 20-minute walk). n nBellagio is the most well-known resort of the area, often referred as the pearl of the lake. It lies at the tip of the headland that splits Lake Como',s two branches (the west branch toward the town of Como, and the east branch toward Lecco). Its charm fascinated, in past centuries, artists and poets, such as Pliny the Younger, who once owned what is now Villa Serbelloni , and then Taine, Longfellow, Twain, Stendhal, Flaubert, Faure, Liszt. The original charm is still intact, and makes of this destination a must-see for travellers to Lake Como. n nIf you prefer, you can enjoy the beautiful garden that surrounds the countryhouse, and, when you',re tired, you could rest at the shared relax lounge, where you can read a good book, or just enjoy the quietness of nature around you. n nThe garden is 500 square meters (5380 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by trees and by a gazebo. It is equipped with a table, chairs, deck chairs and sun loungers. Here you will also find a barbecue. The garden is shared with the other guests staying at the complex, and there will be an area reserved for your exclusive use. n nThe ceiling of the living room has characteristic exposed wood beams. The furnishings are warm and welcoming. Here you will find a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). There is a big fireplace made of stone. In the living room you will also find a cooking area. Description:Residence Celeste Nove is a 50-square-meter (540-square-feet) apartment which sleeps five. It has high sloping ceilings with windows that make the apartment very luminous. Guests of the apartments are able to use a shared swimming pool and a shared garden. n nThe apartment has a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a double divan bed and kitchenette and a bathroom. A fold-out single bed can be placed in the living room. n nThe place n nResidence Celeste was built at the end of the eighteenth century by members of the noble family Brentano- Mezzegra . The reason for building the mansion is singular, to say the least. Legend has it that the sons of the Count Brentano-Mezzegra, upset with their father during a family feud, erected a new building just in front of the family palace, to block the view of the lake that the Count so much enjoyed. We don 't know how much is history and how much is tale, but something is for sure: the new residence enjoys a spectacular view of the lake, while the imposing building right at its back has been obscured, so to speak. n nThroughout the following centuries the building has been used as a monastery and then as a farmhouse. It was an old country residence still in 2001, when it has been restored and divided into nine holiday apartments. n nThe residence is located in the quiet village of Mezzegra, approximately 500 meters (550 yards) from the town center, in an uphill position that offers a wide and charming view of the lake, of the town of Bellagio on the opposite shore, and of the surrounding mountains. Mezzegra is a tiny lakeside village, which has a place in history because it 's here that, on April 28th 1945, Benito Mussolini was executed, or assassinated, depending on who tells the story. n nResidence Celeste can be reached by car, or, if you don 't mind a bit of uphill/downhill walking, you will be able to stay at this place and move around by bus and ferry. The bus stop is at approximately 500 meters (550 yards) from the villa, and the owners provide a shuttle service to and from the bus stop for a small fee, if requested. If you have a car, you will be able to park it on the premises, inside a fenced area. n nThe nine apartments at Residence Celeste are arranged on four floors, and they all share a very nice heated swimming pool of 12 x 5.50 meters (40 x 18 feet), 1.40 meters (4.6 feet) deep, a solarium equipped with umbrellas and sun beds, and a garden with tables and chairs. The swimming pool is open from June 1st until September 15th, from 9 am to 7 pm. The residence is also equipped with a sauna (pay-per-use). n nAt the residence you will also find a laundry room, with a washing machine, a dryer, iron and ironing board. The washing machine and the dryer are token-operated, and tokens can be bought on the premises. n nA kids ' playground is at approximately 100 meters (110 yards) from the residence, and nearby you will also find a tennis court. At 500 meters (550 yards) there is the closest restaurant, a cafe and grocery stores. More restaurants, cafes and stores are in the nearby village of Lenno , approximately 1.5 km (1 mile) from Residence Celeste. n nThe apartment n nResidence Celeste Nove is located on the third floor of the building. You can reach the entrance door entering the building from the back, which is at the street level, and climbing a stairway made up of 46 steps. The swimming pool and the garden are 35 steps from the street level. n nThe entrance door takes you directly into the living room, which has high sloping ceilings. From the living room you will be able to reach the bedroom and the bathroom. In the living room you will find a divan bed to sleep two, a table with chairs and a satellite television, as well as a kitchenette. The kitchenette is equipped with with a four-burner cooker, a microwave oven, a small refrigerator with freezer and a dishwasher. n nThe bedroom has a double bed. A fold-out bed for one guest can be placed in the living room. n nBoth the living room and the bedroom have windows in the ceiling, which make them very luminous, and small windows placed at the floor level. These windows offer a great view of the lake and the mountains, even though view is best appreciated when seated. n nThe bathroom is equipped with a shower. The apartment is equipped with a safe box. n nNearby tourist attractions n nThe village of Mezzegra lies on the western shore of Lake Como , 30 km (20 miles) from Como and from Lugano, and 80 km (50 miles) from Milan. You will be staying just 10 minutes for the well-known village of Lenno, with its famous Villa del Balbianello , where, among other things, scenes for Star Wars and A Month by the Lake where shot. n nOther nearby attractions are Villa Carlotta , in the neighbouring village of Tremezzo , and, across the lake, the villages of Bellagio and Varenna . You will be able to reach Bellagio and Varenna by ferry (departures from Menaggio and Cadenabbia, cars can be taken on board). n nIn the Lake Como area you will find a wide range of tourist services: fitness center, squash facilities, mountain bike rentals, tennis courts and gyms. Description:Residence Celeste Cinque is a 50-square-meter (540-square-feet) apartment which sleeps five. It has balcony and windows which offer a beautiful view of the lake and of the shared swimming pool and garden. n nThe apartment has a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a double divan bed and kitchenette and a bathroom. A fold-out single bed can be placed either in the living room or in the bedroom. n nThe place n nResidence Celeste was built at the end of the eighteenth century by members of the noble family Brentano- Mezzegra .c2a0 The reason for building the mansion is singular, to say the least.c2a0 Legend has it that the sons of the Count Brentano-Mezzegra, upset with their father during a family feud, erected a new building just in front of the family palace, to block the view of the lake that the Count so much enjoyed. We don 't know how much is history and how much is tale, but something is for sure: the new residence enjoys a spectacular view of the lake, while the imposing building right at its back has been obscured, so to speak. n nThroughout the following centuries the building has been used as a monastery and then as a farmhouse.c2a0 It was an old country residence still in 2001, when it has been restored and divided into nine holiday apartments. n nThe residence is located in the quiet village of Mezzegra, approximately 500 meters (550 yards) from the town center, in an uphill position that offers a wide and charming view of the lake, of the town of Bellagio on the opposite shore, and of the surrounding mountains.c2a0 Mezzegra is a tiny lakeside village, which has a place in history because it 's here that, on April 28th 1945, Benito Mussolini was executed, or assassinated, depending on who tells the story. n nResidence Celeste can be reached by car, or, if you don 't mind a bit of uphill/downhill walking, you will be able to stay at this place and move around by bus and ferry.c2a0 The bus stop is at approximately 500 meters (550 yards) from the villa, and the owners provide a shuttle service to and from the bus stop for a small fee, if requested.c2a0 If you have a car, you will be able to park it on the premises, inside a fenced area. n nThe nine apartments at Residence Celeste are arranged on four floors, and they all share a very nice heated swimming pool of 12 x 5.50 meters (40 xc2a0 18 feet), 1.40 meters (4.6 feet) deep, a solarium equipped with umbrellas and sun beds, and a garden with tables and chairs.c2a0 The swimming pool is open from June 1st until September 15th, from 9 am to 7 pm.c2a0 The residence is also equipped with a sauna (pay-per-use). n nAt the residence you will also find a laundry room, with a washing machine, a dryer, iron and ironing board.c2a0 The washing machine and the dryer are token-operated, and tokens can be bought on the premises. n nA kids ' playground is at approximately 100 meters (110 yards) from the residence, and nearby you will also find a tennis court.c2a0 At 500 meters (550 yards) there is the closest restaurant, a cafe and grocery stores.c2a0 More restaurants, cafes and stores are in the nearby village of Lenno , approximately 1.5 km (1 mile) from Residence Celeste. n nThe apartment n nResidence Celeste Cinque is located on the first floor of the building.c2a0 You can reach the entrance door entering the building from the back, which is at the street level, and will be able to reach the swimming pool and garden level along a stairway made up of 35 steps. n nThe entrance door takes you into a short corridor, which connects the living room to the bedroom and to the bathroom.c2a0 In the living room you will find a divan bed to sleep two, a table with chairs and a satellite television, as well as a kitchenette.c2a0 The kitchenette is equipped with with a four-burner cooker, a microwave oven, a small refrigerator with freezer and a dishwasher.c2a0 The ceiling of the living room is made of decorated wood panels.c2a0 The living room has a balcony and a window from which you will be able to enjoy a wide and open view of the swimming pool, of the garden and of the lake and mountains. n nThe bedroom, which has a window that overlooks the back of the building, has a double bed.c2a0 A fold-out bed can be placed either in the bedroom or in the living room, according to your preference. n nThe bathroom, which can be entered from the corridor as well, is equipped with a shower. The apartment is equipped with a safe box. n nNearby tourist attractions n nThe village of Mezzegra lies on the western shore of Lake Como , 30 km (20 miles) from Como and from Lugano, and 80 km (50 miles) from Milan.c2a0 You will be staying just 10 minutes for the well-known village of Lenno, with its famous Villa del Balbianello , where, among other things, scenes for Star Wars and A Month by the Lake where shot. n nOther nearby attractions are Villa Carlotta , in the neighbouring village of Tremezzo , and, across the lake, the villages of Bellagio and Varenna .c2a0 You will be able to reach Bellagio and Varenna by ferry (departures from Menaggio and Cadenabbia, cars can be taken on board). n nIn the Lake Como area you will find a wide range of tourist services: fitness center, squash facilities, mountain bike rentals, tennis courts and gyms. Description:Karina is a striking and fully updated 19th Century Liberty-style villa that benefits from a particularly beautiful setting. This luxury accommodation overlooking Lake Como can accommodate up to 6 people. nKarina rents from SATURDAY to SATURDAY. nThe location is a short distance from the famous Villa de28099Este hotel and George Clooneye28099s lakeside villa. Karina is a 5 minute walk from the lake shore and the closest village is also within easy walking distance. In the village there is an ancient boatyard as well as restaurants, cafc3a9/bars and food shops offering local products. The town of Como is 12 km from Karina and can be reached by car in about 10 minutes. You can also go by ferry or bus. The historic city centre is surrounded by old medieval walls and here you can enjoy the ancient monuments, fashionable shops and lakeside restaurants and cafc3a9s. Como also has the closest train station and Milan by train takes less than one hour. nBy car you can explore Switzerland and the border town of Lugano is approximately 40 minutes away. Also just across the border is Foxtown, a designer outlet village with Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci and Ferragamo outlets. nKarina measures approximately 285 square meters in size and comprises the raised ground floor and the garden level (lower-ground floor) of the villa. The top floor of the villa has two apartments that are not permanently inhabited. They owners may stay there on an occasional basis and have an independent and separate entrance from the back of the villa. The expansive grounds that run in front of the villa are for the sole and private use of our guests. nAs you enter the villa grounds, you pass the 4 person hot tub, set in a corner of the well maintained garden where you can relax overlooking the attractive blue waters of Lake Como. Impressive stone steps lead up to the 70 sq meter terrace, which runs along the entire front of the villa. The terrace has vaulted ceilings and terrific lake views. The large dining table offers ample opportunity for enjoyable outdoor dining. nThe main floor of Karina is air conditioned and you enter it from the terrace through large French doors. Here you find the office/library, which was once the original entrance hall. The office is well equipped with a television, laptop, printer and Skype telephone. The villa also has wireless (WIFI) Internet. nTurning left in the marble hallway, you come to the large living and dining room. This room is elegant in design and inviting with its overstuffed sofas and armchairs. The windows run the full length of the room offering nice light and beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There is direct access to the terrace from this room which also has wood floors with underfloor heating, Venetian stucco walls, Murano chandeliers and air conditioning. nThere is also a large flat screen TV with satellite channels and a Bose surround sound audio system with speakers. The formal circular glass dining table can comfortably seat up to eight people. nThe kitchen is located off of the living/dining room and is a well equipped designer kitchen. It features granite counter tops, newly updated appliances, a double oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator with freezer. There is also a table for less formal dining. nBack along the hallway on the opposite side of the main entrance is the master bedroom suite. It has access to the garden through two French doors and is stylish with a queen designer bed, armchair and ottoman, silk tapestries and hand painted ceilings. Next to the master suite are two full-sized bathrooms. One is masculine and contemporary with a Teuco power shower and the other more feminine and refined with a Teuco ultrasonic Jacuzzi tub. nThe lower ground garden level is reached externally with access from the garden. This level is comfortable and nicely appointed but more modest than the main floor. It does not have air conditioning. The garden level has a pleasant twin bedded room (beds cannot be joined) that has access to the terrace. This room has a modern feel yet is still in keeping with the classical surroundings. There is a bathroom with shower located next to this room. nDown the hall is a fitness room with large plasma TV. The room is private and can accommodate two additional guests on a double sofa bed. Next to the fitness room is a well equipped laundry room with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board. nThe garden and grounds are comprised of established Mediterranean trees and plants and flowers that thrive in the local micro climate. There are shady areas with tables, chairs and loungers. nDue to the high quality of furnishings throughout the villa, children between 1 and 12 are admitted only upon request. Please inquire. nBecause the garden level floor of Karina is more modest in quality and scope, the villa works best for one couple or a family with teenage/young adult children. nKarina is a non smoking villa.
