Description:If you love the sea, you could hardly do better than this apartment in a Sorrento villa. Great for a family getaway, this vacation villa apartment in Italy has three bedrooms, two baths, and a shared swimming pool right on the water. The panoramic terrace is great for dining together or just enjoying endless views. And let's not forget the location! This apartment on the Sorrento Peninsula offers trails throughout the countryside, proximity to Sorrento, and easy access to all of the amazing spots in the area: Amalfi, Positano, Pompeii, and Capri. n nThis villa is one of very few in the area with both private sea frontage and a seawater swimming pool. The villa is built on four levels, with the Attico apartment on Levels 3 and 4. Levels one, two, and four open onto ample terraces equipped with outdoor furniture, while level three opens onto balconies with uninterrupted views of Naples, including the island of Capri, Procida, and Ischia. Mount Vesuvius looms in the background. A separate garden area, shared between the units, hosts a pizza oven with a wood stove and barbecue-- where staff, on request, can arrange handmade pizza parties. The shared swimming pool (10m x 6m, 1.5-3.5m deep) is set in a terrace just above the sea, ideal for sunset cocktail parties, while the sea access is about 100 steps down from the main entrance. Please be aware that the pool terraces are directly above the sea and unfenced, which means that children (and drinking adults!) need supervision at all times. The villa is accessed via a remote-controlled gate on a private street descending from the main road. There is parking available. n nAttico (130 m2) nLevel 4: The entrance on the topmost floor leads into a 40 m2 living room with an open fireplace, two sofas, and two armchairs. A sliding glass door opens onto the terrace, and a large window on the left has a view of Capri. The 180 m2 terrace has 180-degree views from Mount Vesuvius to the island of Capri. It is furnished with two wooden tables and a number of deck chairs, partially shaded by a bamboo roof. This level also has a partially open-plan kitchen equipped with a cook-top, electric oven, Italian coffee maker, dishwasher, and toaster. Another sliding glass door opens onto a stone-paved side terrace shaded by pine trees. A back room is also available for extra food and drinks. nLevel 3: A wooden staircase leads down into a large, open-plan room that can be enclosed with a sliding wooden door. Here there are two twin beds with a wardrobe and chest of drawers. It also has a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. The room is nice and cool and opens onto a small side terrace. From here, a few stairs lead down to a corridor where you will find the master bedroom, which includes a 160-cm queen-size bed, air conditioning, a heating unit, and a small balcony with sea views. There is also a bedroom with two single beds and air conditioning, opening onto the same balcony. Back in the corridor, there is a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and bathtub with fixed showerhead. n nThis villa is located about 1.5 km from the center of Massa Lubrense, a quaint town just a few kilometers outside of Sorrento, on one of the most beautiful coastlines of Italy. The area offers beautiful landscape with more than 100 km of trails throughout the countryside, along with some of the best cuisine in the country! It is only 3 miles away from the Island of Capri and within reach of all of the major towns of the Amalfi Coast. Going into the heart of Sorrento, you'll find yourself in a thriving seaside community, filled with life, good food, and great shopping. Sorrento is famous for two things you can't miss: Limoncello (an alcoholic aperitif) and inlaid wood. The workshops of Sorrento were the first to use the technique of arranging small pieces of wood into intricate patterns, a practice which has been refined and perfected through generations. Take the time to find and visit one of the workshops-- you won't regret it! There are also a couple of places you ought not to miss. The first is the 10th century Basilica di San Antonio. Saint Anthony is the patron of navigators, and sailors have made thousands of votive offerings at his tomb in the crypt. The 11th century Cathedral is also beautiful, housing some frescoes and a bell tower with a ceramic clock. Description:Our villa is set amongst the hills of Umbria, near Orvieto ( 40 minutes from Perugia airport and an hour from Rome airports) and has breathtaking views of Lake Bolsena to the front. We are part of the town of Bagnoregio (Civita di Bagnoregio, a fairytale hill top hamlet where time has stood still, was the set for the latest film Pinocchio with Bob Hoskins). We live in England, but we try to spend as much time at the villa as possible and we plan to move there one day! The ground floor is our holiday apartment and we rent the large luxurious first floor apartment that has its own independent entrance. The apartment is large (130 square metres) and it has been beautifully renovated by using local materials such as cotto, basalt and chestnut wood. It has all the comforts of modern life, home from home, including dish washer, washing machine and free wi fi connection. There are magnificent views from every window of the apartment and the large loggia is ideal for lazy lunches or long suppers or simply to sit and watch the sun sets on ...Lake Bolsena and the skies on fire, with a cool glass of Orvieto or Est! Est! Est! If you come in the summer the lake is deliciously clean and warm and it is always possible to find a secluded beach around the lake, safe from the Italian summer bank holiday. The late spring is beautiful and it makes you want to take up painting, when the hills become yellow with the Ginestra in flower and the fields around the house are turned to purple by the clover and red by the poppies and all the other vivid colours of the palette by hundreds of wild flowers in competition. The autumn is warm and makes you feel good to be alive and want to sample the fruits of the land, the porcini and truffles, the bore stews, the grapes and the chestnuts. This is one of the best regions for the Italian traditional cuisine, based on fresh local ingredients and what is in season. However it is still good value and the local wine is excellent at 2/3 euros per bottle at the restaurant. The area is in between 3 regions, Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio and although we are away from it all in a hidden corner of paradise, we are really close to the main Italian railway and motorway network. This makes the villa an ideal base to explore the wonderful sites in central Italy and visit Rome which is only 50 minutes train ride away. However there is so much to do and see that you will be hard pressed to travel further then half an hour radius if you stay for a week. Please book early to avoid disappointment. Description:Il Castello is a two bedroomed apartment accommodating 4 guests, in the Mill known as Dimora la Cascata, which has three apartments in total. There is room for two further guests on the large, comfortable sofa bed in the lounge area making the apartment idea for a family group or for up to 6 friends looking for a budget holiday in this superb part of Tuscany. Il Castello is located on the middle level of the Mill. It is a comfortable, spacious apartment with an open plan living/dining/kitchen area with tv/dvd/video (large selection of films and music), many books and some games. The apartment has full gas central heating and an efficient wood-burning stove for cooler evenings. The fully equipped kitchen has a microwave, large fridge/freezer and full oven facilities with more than enough utensils, cutlery and crockery etc for 7 persons. The two bedrooms each contain large queen sized beds with ample drawer and wardrobe space, one room also contains a single bed. The shower/wet room is fully tiled. The apartment has a small breakfast terrace outside the door and a larger terrace with sun shade, table, chairs and a portable bbq overlooking the stream with an interesting view through the arch of the bridge to the medieval village of Verrucola. The Mill has shared laundry and drying facilities, loungers, and bicycle for the use of all guests. To book the apartment a deposit of £100 is required, once received together with your party details the booking will be confirmed in writing. The remaining balance must be sent 6 weeks before arrival. If the booking is made within 6 weeks of arrival or is for a short break, the full sum is payable. The booking fee includes electricity, gas, water, one clean of the apartment, before the start of the rental period, logs for the stove and one change of bed linen and towels per week. Short breaks are acceptable subject to availability (min 3 night stay) and cost between £70 and £75 per night depending on the season. There is also a small cantina across the borgo which opens in the evening during the summer months where you can sample locally made bread, salamis, pickles etc and sample some fine wines from an extensive collection. The apartment is about 80sqm. in size and has a seperate kitchen boasting a modern fully equipped kitchen including a microwave, gas cooker and hob, fridge/freezer, toaster and filter coffee machine. The living area is unusually large containing a dining table and chairs. For relaxation there are two comfortable sofas (one is a sofa bed). There is satelite TV, a DVD player and sound system in the flat. We have a small library of DVDs for guests. The wood burning stove provides a warm cosy atmosphere during those cool evenings. For very cold days there is the additional convenience of a full central heating system. The main bedroom of the apartment contains a double bed with side tables, a chest of drawers, mirror and wardrobe. The bathroom is en-suite.
