The Granery is about 1k from the SS 72, and 7 k to both Mercatale (small village) and Umbertide (good shopping town) Many lovely hilltowns are within one hour's drive. This is lovely country side, gently rolling hills, and the views from the house which change with the time of day are very pleasing. There is nothing to disturb you here. Description:The apartment is surrounded by the green vineyards of Tuscany in the countryside near Castiglion Fibocchi, Arezzo, under the Pratomagno Mountain, famous for nature, wildlife, little ancient villages, good cuisine and excellent wine. It is part of an old farm house, property of our family, which we have restaured. The house has two apartments (this one and a smaller one for 2-3 people) each with his own entrance. Outside there is a common garden where You can relax during the beautiful Tuscan evenings. The apartment is very suitable for families or groups of friends (4-6 people) who have a car and want to do a tour of Tuscany. The apartment is restored in original country style. It 's 100 square meters and consists of: a large living room with sofa and TV, a typical Tuscan kitchen with stove refrigerator, dishwasher, table and chairs, traditional fireplace, one double bedroom and two twin bedrooms all with wrought iron beds, 2 bathrooms with shower, sink and toilet. The interiors and furnishings are Tuscan style. Most of the objects and furnishings are from the family. The price is very actractive. We have started our activity recently (in 2011) and we have decided, for 2012, to offer our guests the possibility to stay in a very beautiful and relaxing apartment at a very promotional price. Linen and towels are included in the price and will be changed once per week. With an agreement, We offer a swimming pool service, around 2 km from the apartment, to only 5 euro/day (adult), 2,5 euro/day kids (3-12 years) and free for little baby (under 3 years). You can buy the tickets discounted from us. At their arrival, the guests will find a present (a bottle of Chianti Wine from our vineyards) as our welcome. People who will stay for at least 1 week could be our guests for a beautiful, typical Tuscan dinner. The apartment is located in Castiglion Fibocchi. The area is very safe and quiet so, think just relaxing and enjoying it. In Castiglion Fibocchi 0,8 km from the house, you can find farmacy, supermarket and all you need. In the house You will also find the numbers for every emergencies. The location of the apartment is very central and allows to reach easily: Arezzo (12 km) where You can visit the beautiful Pieve (Romanesque church) and the church of San Francesco with the frescoes of Piero della Francesca, the beautiful village of Loro Ciuffenna, Florence (65 km) with all its monuments, museums and the famous Ponte Vecchio, Siena (60 km) and all the Chianti area (40 km), the medieval town of Anghiari (30 km), Casentino area (20-30 km) with its extensive woodlands and beautiful restored historical buildings, including many castles and abbeys and Cortona (40 km), with his etruscan sites. Lucca town is a 10 km/ 6 miles drive away from the house. The distance to Pisa airport is approx. 35 km, whereas Florence city its famous walls enclose a place that can be walked or cycled with ease yet remains full of secrets. Description of the accommodation The Lucca apartment is part of a family residence divided into two parts, each with its own driveway and parking space. The apartment is on the ground floor and has its own large, secluded south-facing terrace immediately adjacent to the olive groves. The accommodation comprises of a good size lounge with sofa and dining areas, leading into a 'living' kitchen with original fireplace from where you can reach the main bedroom and bathroom across a small corridor. The lounge includes a large double pull out bed as well as a settee. The bathroom is fitted with a shower cubicle, washbasin, bidet and toilet. The large double-bedroom is furnished with wooden interiors. The kitchen is fully fitted.. Bed linen and towels are provided. The Lucca apartment was totally renovated and refurnished during the last winter and all interiors are new and in perfect condition, giving the apartment a fresh and clean feeling. Gas and electricity are at extra cost, we only charge for what you use. Description:The structure The Masseria of the 12 grains is a construction that was fortified in the 18th century. It is situated in the middle of the countryside just outside Minervino di Lecce (a 5 minute walk) 7 kms from the beach and only a 20 minute drive from Otranto. It was once a big farm lived in by the landed gentry, and it included the living accommodation for the farmers, the stables, the fodder and harvest deposits and a snow deposit. The structure- approximately 1000 square meters – is surrounded by an ancient wall with a spacious court – and is named after the 12 underground grains , excavated in the stone , but it was also known as the “farm house of Saint Peter” or the “masseria of the Two Masters”. Our Masseria flat is a nice cottage that offers hospitality to friends or to a family that want to spend time in total tranquillity and have a logistical base from where to visit Salent one of the most original and rich regions of Italy. The hospitality is informal without penalizing comfort and professionalty. It’s like being a friend’s house but at the same time we guarantee the privacy one needs. We particularly want to address to our foreign guests because we are sure they will fall in love of these places and we have organized ourselves in order to welcome you (we speak English, French and Spanish). A bit of history Starting in the XVI century, in all Southern Italy, the “masseria” represented the settlement of the typical large feudal properties: they were the centre of life and of the local agricultural economy and of the centre of relations between the barons and the peasants. In 1744 at the “Catasto of Otranto” – in a land that was particularly exposed to the attacks from Turkish pirates – there were at least 54 masserie, many of which were fortified, as a proof of good defence as well as agricultural production. The farm house of the 12 Grains , with is mysterious underground spaces in order to hide and store the products that were grown on the land, emerged throughout those years and still today represents a fascinating historical testimony of that period. The lands that surround the masseria began to be fractioned and sold at the start of the 19th century by the then owner, the last Basalù baroness, but the agricultural and farming activities have continued and have remained alive until today. Description:The old baglio (farm house) is located on a beautiful bank close to Trapani. It overlooks an olive plantation, a soft river valley and the mediterranean sea with the Egadi Islands. Surrounded by olive trees and a newly planted garden the remote estate is the perfect place where to relax and finding inspirations by watching astonishing sunsets There are three spacious studios for two people (max.5) and one big apartment for four people (max.7). In the last years the baglio had been caringly renovated. Through a big archway you enter the yard, from where you get to the studios and apartments. The proprietary, Ms. Mauro spends her holidays on the estate herself. The ground floor studios look northward to Mount Erice and have one big open living/dining room with a kitchenette and a bedroom on the gallery upstairs. On the other, the south-western side of the building lies the spacious two-story apartment. The three ground floor studios have big doors opening to a field with the bold Mount Erice in the background. Looking north you survey a newly planted garden, olive and palm trees. The tyrrhenian sea with the three Egadi Islands lies west. Inside the studios you take the wooden stairs up to the gallery - the bedroom with a big double bed. Downstairs there is a new kitchen, equipped with gas stove, stone finished sink and a fridge. You will find pots, plates, cutlery and everything you need to do your own cooking. There is a sofa and a daybed, where a up to three more persons can sleep if needed. The recently built bathrooms have modern sanitary accessories. The old baglio was renovated in 2007 and is furnished tastefully. With its high ceilings the apartment is very spacious. Kitchen, dinigroom and living room all are connected to make one big living area. The two bedrooms, one up- one downstairs, are situated in the tower-like part in the centre of the building. There are two bathrooms. It's all there: a big sofa and a stereo. Lots of space in the dinig room. The kitchen is fully equipped. with fridge, a gas stove and everything to do your own cooking. You will find garden furniture for the big terrace. (At the moment the terrace is lacking the flagstones.) In the bathroom downstairs, there is a big bathtub. Upstairs, there is an other smaller bathroom with shower.. You have a king size bed in the bedroom upstairs, in the second big bedroom there are the stairs. It is a Durchgangszimmer. The old baglio has been recently renovated and furnished tastefully. Directions Arrival by car: At the Palermo airport take the autostrada A29 towards Trapani. Past Alcamo ouest turn right (highway A29dir.) Shortly after the exit Dattilo the highway bifurcates. Drive left towards Marsala. Take the exit Marausa an turn right towards Trapani. Past Marausa you cross a river valley and arrive at the village of Palma. Turn left at the traffic lights, drive towards the sea and follow the road until you see a railroad crossing. Take the road before that crossing, and turn left. After 100m turn left again. You have arrived. Prices Studio for two persons: 80 EUR per night. For each additional bed we charge 10 EUR. The farmhouse is inside in no hunting zone, of very naturalistic importance, rich of wildflowers and wildlife: hares, pheasants, roes, wild boars and many kind of birds. The farmhouse is divided into two floors: the upper one occuped by the family, the ground floor dedicated to our guests. It is a flat of 70 mq., free from architectural barriers, open all the year. It consists of a large kitchen-stay with fireplace, two double rooms, four beds, large bathroom, wide outer space with pergola. The structure can host up to 4 guests, is possible to add two beds more. All the rooms are complete with eating, and wood for the cozy fireplace is provided. Description:Comignano country-house Comignano country house was in ‘800 and in ‘900 a wonderful agricultural farm that produced fruits for the whole Mugello valley. It was built, in late 1700, with a functional project: to build it at the bottom of a natural basin. The reason for this was to let carts, loaded with agricultural products, reach the house going downhill, with less effort for men and animals. The farm building, following customs of the period, was started after a meticulous watching of the place by masons who were used to choosing the best place to build, through careful thought, after having slept there some nights in winter and summer. Territorial plentiful waters are free from any contamination and reach the country house by a spring and an artesian well. The water coming from the well has beneficial diuretic effects, coming directly from the taps to drink. Following farmer’s customs, there is also a rainwater harvesting of 20.000 liters. In uncultivated areas you can find, amidst the natural vegetation, ancient fruit trees that bear record to times when those places were intensively cultivated. You can find them along the stream Lora that marks the boundary of what remains of a big farm that in the beginning of 1900 extended for hundreds of hectares. During the second half of 1900, the abandonment of agricultural work towards industry, led to the degradation of this agricultural land. At the end of the second world war, in 1943 the house was blasted leaving intact the only loft that has now been recovered and restructured. The blasted house was rebuilt in the same place but with a new and different shape and in the ’50s lodged a rural school in part of it. It has been lived in by farmers until 1980 and then put on sale in the ’90s when we bought it. The abandonment of agriculture and the consequent absence of chemical treatments, has helped the preservation of rich and full fauna environment, as much as the presence of insects that are their food source. Now we use part of the arable land as orchard, part as kitchen garden, but the most part is left on loan to the neighbouring sheep breeding (that you can also reach afoot, pictures on the slide show) where you can buy very good cheese and fresh ricotta, made by sheep’s milk grazing under your eyes.... more info >>

Description:Luca’s House is an old country small-holding dating back to the 19th century. Built entirely in stone it has been renovated respecting the typical architectural characteristics of the area blended with touches of artistic masonry. Two apartments are also available for long or short stays for 7-8 people .The surrounding area Located in the area where the Maremma and the Val D’Orcia Nature Park meet, Mount Amiata is an ancient volcano (1774 m.) with an abundance of underground thermal waters. People can ski at the top of the mountain whose slopes reach down to the outskirts of the Argento coast. Skiing: the ski slopes are about 10 minutes by car from the farm. In winter there are several kilometers of slopes equipped with two chair lifts and ski lifts. The closest thermal bath (20 minutes by car) is at San Filippo in the area there are thermal baths at Bagni Vignone or San Casciano up to those at Petriolo and Saturnia. Mount Amiata has always been a crossroads of intense spiritual activity thanks to its churches and to the Via Francigena which flanks it in the north. At the beginning of the 19th century it witnessed the rise of David Lazzaretti’s social-Christian community on Mount Labro. At the moment it is home to Merigar, the seat of the Dzogchen Community, one of the biggest Tibetan Buddhist centres in Italy whose monuments attract tourists from all over the world every year. In the area of Seggiano and Pescina you can visit the Spoerri Garden, a museum of contemporary art created by Daniel Spoerri which attracts an international audience. Description:In the harmonic land of the enchanted hills and the blue mountains, steeped in greenery and cared-for in every detail is to be found ‘Il Salino’, a country house for those who wish to relax and regenerate in blissful peace. The Salino Country House which has been renovated with expertise is to be found in the midst of the green hills of the Marche region, and situated in the county of Contro at about 3 km from Gualdo ( 650 metres above sea-level), a medieval town in the province of Macerata and part of the ‘Comunità Montana dei Monti Azzurri’ ( The Mountain Community of the Blue Mountains). The farmhouse, from which there is a beautiful view of the countryside, stands on a strip of land of approximately one hectare, on a hillside that runs gently down to the stream named ‘Salino’, from which the property takes it’s name. The construction, which provides every comfort, is composed of the farmhouse and an annex with a swimming pool, able to sleep 15 people in a mini apartment, a one-room flat and four rooms, as well as a communal living area composed of a polyvalent lounge, a dining-room and a kitchen. Also included are a large garden, a car park and an olive grove. The ‘Salino’ Country House is essentially composed of: -> the farm house: an expert eye will see that it was built in various stages from the end of the 1800’s onwards.
