Description:We are a couple and have a great private room available for rent in our apartment. The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and living room. The room is very beautiful, spacious and clean. Located in Barcelona's bustling Raval district, the apartment is just a few steps from Rambla del Raval. It's a safe and relaxed haven after a busy day in the streets of Catalonia's capital. The room is very bright and fully furnished, there is also use of closet space. We have our own room so you will be sharing the kitchen and bathroom with us only. You will have your own keys and 24 hour access to the apartment. Smoking is allowed but on the balconies. The apartment is in a building with elevator. Metro Sant Antoni is the closest stop. Description:The Sunflower House is a spacious two-story residence in the heart of the traditional Catalan neighborhood of Poblenou in Barcelona, next to the beach. After 20 years of being the Blue Moon lamp factory, it it has been getting converted to an artistic type of loft space over the last three years. It has 3 double bedrooms, (2 upstairs, 1 downstairs) that can be rented individually or together. The house is in a quiet corner of a great little neighborhood: a block away from metro Poblenou (10 minutes to BCN center), buses, night bus, Bicing, the tram, shops, supermarkets and everything else you may need. The Mar Bella/Bogatell/Nova Icaría beaches are a short stroll down c/Bilbao or the beautiful tree-lined Rambla de Poblenou. The large reception/lamp exhibition space is now the living room, with big mirrored sliding doors to the kitchen. It has a dining room set, another desk, 2 couches, TV, VHS, DVD player and a large collection of VHS cassettes. There is no television reception, you can only watch movies. Also, there is a large collection of guide and history books of Spain, Catalunya and Barcelona in a variety of languages. The kitchen is big, sunny and has a large collection of international teas and spices, which guests are welcome to use. A BBQ outside and a large variety of pots and pans give the gourmet plenty of possibilities to make delicious meals. The guests have an entire fridge to themselves. Outside the kitchen is a small Andalusian-style patio, with lots of plants, herbs, a BBQ, two chairs and a table. There are three double bedrooms. The first two are on the top floor, the third one at ground level. We are in the process of painting murals in all the rooms. 1) The Study and Map Room: divided by a large wardrobe, the front of the room is covered with maps of the Barcelona and Mediterrenean region and has a big worktable in addition to the desk. A bookcase in the room holds an eclectic collection of National Geographics, assorted magazines, books and encyclopeadias. The bedroom in the back has a double bed, sidetables and individual reading lamps. This is the bedroom that does not have a mural (yet). We are planning a Flamenco music and dance mural in this room. 2) The Fantasy Room: a large mural featuring a coastal landscape at sunset dominates this room. On the walls are further decorations of planet-type orbs. To store clothes, suitcases etc. there is a large walk-in closet at the end of the room. The room has a double bed, a side table, 2 chairs, a wooden table and a desk. 3) Next to the entrance downstairs is the last bedroom, with a double bed, large table, chairs, a wardrobe and shelves. We are in the process of painting a large Cadaqués / Salvador Dalí mural in this room the days the room is not rented. It is possible to sleep two more in the living room on the fold out couch to accomodate 7 or 8 people in total. Perfect for a family, a small company or a group of friends. LGTB friendly. Pets and children are welcome. Behind the 3rd room is the artist studio/workshop and where I live/work with my fiancé, a carpenter. We will be on call for whatever questions or problems you may have during your stay, and hope to show you a bit of Barcelona, our favorite city! Internet is increasingly important, whether you are just traveling or also working remote. Just last month fiber optic cable got installed in the neighborhood, and we made sure this house got connected to it. We now have a 50 mega connection to ensure speedy access even if a lot of people in the house are using their computers, tablets etc. Also, for trans-Atlantic travelers, we have an American-European power converter. If you have a car, you can park it for free on the communal parking lot on c/Espronceda 2 blocks away, or for a fee on the streets. The area is a Green Zone. This beautifully classical place is on the first floor of a traditional 19th century building in the Eixample district, very centrally located in an area with great selection of restaurants and bars, close to public transportation and with many stores and supermarkets nearby. If your group consists of 6 or more people, why stay in a small apartment with insufficient showers, toilets and rooms? for just a bit more this apartment offers you 5 bedrooms, three toilets and two showers to make your stay comfortable and pleasant!! It is an 6 min walk to Pl. Universitat (red metro line running north-south), 7 min to Passeig de Gracia, the upscale shopping artery of the city (yellow and green metro lines running east-west) or Hospital Clinic (blue metro line) metro stations. Many buses stop 1-2 mins walk from the apartment. The apartment is 110 m2 plus 40 m2 for the patio (1185 sq ft 430 sq ft), with very high ceilings with original plaster crown molding (two of them polychrome), and beautiful floors with original hydraulic tiles. It has been just restored, faithfully following the original floor plan and style, but with an up to date reinterpretation. The apartment has a modest size living room, a large dining room, a total of 5 bedrooms (two of the bedrooms face the street and have some traffic noise, the other three bedrooms are to the inside and quiet), all with plenty of closet space. This makes a total of three double beds and three twin beds. It also has a fully equipped kitchen. It is not a modern one but has all you might need to cook plus dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee maker, electric kettle, and large refrigerator. There are two full bathrooms (one with shower and one with bathtub) and one half bathroom. There is a washer and a dryer, 2 TVs (in each of two of the rooms) and WiFi. And the most amazing and unique, you can use the large patio to chill out in the evenings or have memorable dinners. I provide with blankets and there are space heaters, so even if it´s a bit chilly you can sit outside under the canopy. The building has elevator and intercom. We provide you with clean linens, towels, table cloths, ironing equipment, slippers, 3 hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner, soap, body lotion and assorted toiletries. Also, complimentary Nespresso capsules, tea bags and ground coffee, plus basics for cooking like oil, vinegar, salt and spices… Check in and check out are flexible, except in cases in which there is a group coming/leaving the same day (doesn't happen often), in which case check out is 11 am and check in is 3 pm, although you can leave your bags in the apartment... The whole apartment fits a maximum of 9 people. Please be reminded that this is an apartment within a residential building. It is important not to disturb the neighbors, so no parties or loud music are allowed. The rental apt at one extreme of the flat. 2 (purple). A long common entrance corridor that separate both parts. 3 (orange). My studio workplace at the opossite extreme. I live in the upper part of the city but normally each day i go to the studio to work. The flat its really spacious and light-filled with high ceilings and windows. All the photos are recent (Sept Nov 2011 and Jan 2012) and I like to update them to reflect the current season and changes in furniture, objects and plants....it's not a frozen scenario. -Calm The apt is very quiet with large courtyard windows and terrace. Having your place located in this kind of courtyard is NOT irrelevant. At the center you must be prepared to have your neighbor just at 3-4 meters in front of your window and to have a lot of noise at night from the street. ********** -Singularities: 01. The rental apt have a typical old school bath distribution: bath in one room (bath sink) and a separate toilet (wc sink) located at the entrance corridor. It's NOT a shared toilet. 02.
