The houses are surrounded by pretty gardens with lawns and pots of flowers, where each apartment has an area with table and chairs for dining al fresco. In a lovely position in the grounds overlooking the verdant countryside is a pretty swimming pool (12m x 6m) and the attentive owners have added an indoor spa area with heated hydro massage tub, aromatherapy showers and sauna. r n r nThe apartments are comfortably furnished in Umbrian country style, with many original features such as beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and fireplaces being retained creating a warm and homely atmosphere, and the crafts of local artisans are apparent in the handmade wooden and wrought iron details throughout the interiors. r n r nTuderte P0, is a pretty studio apartment on the ground floor, consisting of a living area with kitchen unit, dining table and chairs and settee, separated by curtains from the sleeping area which has a lovely wrought iron double bed, and there is a shower room. The apartment has its own area in the garden furnished with table and chairs for dining al fresco, and there is a barbecue in the grounds for guests use. r n r nIf required breakfast can be arranged locally and meals are also served on request. The estate in fact produces pasta made from their own wheat, as well as olive oil, pulses and wine, all of which are featured in the cooking and can be tasted and purchased locally. The lovely swimming pool in a pretty position overlooking the valley is the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquillity, and the indoor hydro massage tub and sauna are welcome little extras (payable locally). r n r nThe countryside surrounding the estate is also a joy to explore on foot. The location is a great base from which to explore Umbria, the beautiful town of Todi is just 10 minutes drive away (10km) and the regions excellent road links make visiting other equally beautiful towns easy. There is a large stunning swimming pool (5 x 14m), with spacious terraces, set into the hillside. There is plenty of shade and excellent views of the surrounding area (the views are similar to an infinity pool). There are comfortable sunloungers and chairs and there is a paddling pool for babies. COAST/BEACH Fano beach is about 1 hours drive from the farm and is perfect for families with young children as it is very wide beach with shallow water. The wonderful sandy beaches of Sirolo are only 1 hour 20 mins drive away. Lake Trasimeno (35 min drive) has a life guarded beach and some excellent seafood restaurants. Pisa airport is about 2.5 hours drive away and Easy Jet, among other airlines, flies to Pisa. DISTANCES Umbria is the undiscovered heart of Italy. It is rich in art and history as well as landscape. There is a great variety of sculpture, painting, architecture, and religious heritage to explore. Gubbi One of most beautiful, well preserved medieval towns in Italy (20 mins). There are 10 traditional Umbrian restaurants within 5-10 minutes of the house. The local restaurants serve typical Umbrian food such as, 'affettati' -plates of superb ham, salami and cheese, simple rustic pasta dishes with 'sugo' or truffles and roast meats and game. The medieval towns of Perugia and Gubbio (20 mins drive away) have some of the best restaurants in Umbria and a lively nightlife. The speciality is rich truffle dishes made with local black and white truffles. Gubbio also has several bars and pubs, which are great fun and rather lively during the summer evenings. The local towns of Ramazano and Casa del Diavolo both have bars, where you can drink into the small hours with the locals. You can walk to both of the bars (5 mins walk), they are both typical Umbrian bars, with beer on tap and a lively banter. If you are still reading a book when you are due to leave and would like to take the book with you, no problem. If you could leave a book of your own in it's place that would be great. Villa Arnata is no smoking both in the house and in most of the grounds. Accessibility The house was built on many levels and is unsuitable for those with mobility problems. Outside There are flower gardens all around the house. A shady terrace next to the house with tables and chairs. A gazebo with tables and chairs near to the barbecues. Two barbecues. A terrace with loungers and parasols next to the outside unheated massage pool. Great for cooling off the the summer.
