Description:Luca’s House is an old country small-holding dating back to the 19th century. Built entirely in stone it has been renovated respecting the typical architectural characteristics of the area blended with touches of artistic masonry. The result is a small ‘village’ whose rustic hospitality has grown over the years so that an ‘agriturismo’ or farmhouse accommodation ,for 6 person, has been created. Two apartments are also available for long or short stays for 7-8 people .The surrounding area Located in the area where the Maremma and the Val D’Orcia Nature Park meet, Mount Amiata is an ancient volcano (1774 m.) with an abundance of underground thermal waters. People can ski at the top of the mountain whose slopes reach down to the outskirts of the Argento coast. Skiing: the ski slopes are about 10 minutes by car from the farm. In winter there are several kilometers of slopes equipped with two chair lifts and ski lifts. The closest thermal bath (20 minutes by car) is at San Filippo in the area there are thermal baths at Bagni Vignone or San Casciano up to those at Petriolo and Saturnia. Mount Amiata has always been a crossroads of intense spiritual activity thanks to its churches and to the Via Francigena which flanks it in the north. At the beginning of the 19th century it witnessed the rise of David Lazzaretti’s social-Christian community on Mount Labro. At the moment it is home to Merigar, the seat of the Dzogchen Community, one of the biggest Tibetan Buddhist centres in Italy whose monuments attract tourists from all over the world every year. In the area of Seggiano and Pescina you can visit the Spoerri Garden, a museum of contemporary art created by Daniel Spoerri which attracts an international audience. From Santa Fiora and Arcidosso to Pienza and Montepulciano there is a succession of medieval villages and Renaissance towns to visit and numerous local activities in any season.... more info >>

There is space all around, it is a great area for walking and mountain biking. Trails lead off directly from the house. Town is less than 7k about an hour's walk. There is ample parking. The Granery is about 1k from the SS 72, and 7 k to both Mercatale (small village) and Umbertide (good shopping town) Many lovely hilltowns are within one hour's drive. This is lovely country side, gently rolling hills, and the views from the house which change with the time of day are very pleasing. There is nothing to disturb you here. From many years our Family is guests of Caldaruccio Podere La Pineta and continues to live with respect for nature and traditions attached to it. We Cultivate olive trees, grapevines, fruit and vegetables and produce our oil and wine following traditional and ancient methods, available to an orchard and organic garden. There is a large stunning swimming pool (5 x 14m), with spacious terraces, set into the hillside. There is plenty of shade and excellent views of the surrounding area (the views are similar to an infinity pool). There are comfortable sunloungers and chairs and there is a paddling pool for babies. Each accommodation has private terraces with shade. Each terrace has comfortable outdoor furniture and barbecue grill. There are well established herb and flowers gardens that surround the property. Bikes are available to borrow. There are 15 acres of farm, woodland and countryside to enjoy while staying with us. The unspoilt countryside is abundant with wildlife. Deer, wild boar, porcupines, hares, eagles, lizards and a wide variety of birds frequently roam the land. COAST/BEACH Fano beach is about 1 hours drive from the farm and is perfect for families with young children as it is very wide beach with shallow water. The wonderful sandy beaches of Sirolo are only 1 hour 20 mins drive away. Lake Trasimeno (35 min drive) has a life guarded beach and some excellent seafood restaurants. SPECIAL INTEREST HOLIDAYS We are open all year round, You can walk to the two local villages of Ramazzano (4 mins), Casa del Diavolo (10 mins) and surrounding the farm there are miles of stunning open countryside, perfect for walking, climbing, painting and cycling. You could also fly into Bologna Forli airport with Ryan Air, making the drive to the house is less than 2.0 hours. Pisa airport is about 2.5 hours drive away and Easy Jet, among other airlines, flies to Pisa. DISTANCES Umbria is the undiscovered heart of Italy. It is rich in art and history as well as landscape. There is a great variety of sculpture, painting, architecture, and religious heritage to explore. Gubbi One of most beautiful, well preserved medieval towns in Italy (20 mins). Perugia: The regional capital, home to Umbrian art (15 mins). Assisi: Most visited place in Italy, birthplace of St Francis (30 mins). There are 10 traditional Umbrian restaurants within 5-10 minutes of the house. The local restaurants serve typical Umbrian food such as, 'affettati' -plates of superb ham, salami and cheese, simple rustic pasta dishes with 'sugo' or truffles and roast meats and game. The medieval towns of Perugia and Gubbio (20 mins drive away) have some of the best restaurants in Umbria and a lively nightlife. The speciality is rich truffle dishes made with local black and white truffles. Gubbio also has several bars and pubs, which are great fun and rather lively during the summer evenings. The local towns of Ramazano and Casa del Diavolo both have bars, where you can drink into the small hours with the locals. You can walk to both of the bars (5 mins walk), they are both typical Umbrian bars, with beer on tap and a lively banter.
