Built entirely in stone it has been renovated respecting the typical architectural characteristics of the area blended with touches of artistic masonry. In winter there are several kilometers of slopes equipped with two chair lifts and ski lifts. The closest thermal bath (20 minutes by car) is at San Filippo in the area there are thermal baths at Bagni Vignone or San Casciano up to those at Petriolo and Saturnia. Mount Amiata has always been a crossroads of intense spiritual activity thanks to its churches and to the Via Francigena which flanks it in the north. The Granery is about 1k from the SS 72, and 7 k to both Mercatale (small village) and Umbertide (good shopping town) Many lovely hilltowns are within one hour's drive. This is lovely country side, gently rolling hills, and the views from the house which change with the time of day are very pleasing. There is nothing to disturb you here. Description:Villa Sonia C is a characteristic and welcoming apartment located on top of a small hill. It sleeps four people. From Villa Sonia C you will enjoy an enchanting view of the Umbrian hills. Villa Sonia C is 60 square meters (645 square feet). It features a shared swimming pool, a shared garden, a reserved outdoor area and winter heating. n nYou will be roughly 8 km (5 miles) from Gualdo Cattaneo , where you will find restaurants and the shops. n nVilla Sonia C is located on the first floor of an ancient farmhouse. You will reach it along an external stairway which consists of approximately 16 steps. n nTo stay at Villa Sonia C you will need a car. You will be able to park it on the premises. n nThe Sonia apartments are part of an over 200 hectare farming estate, situated on a hill about 450 meters above sea level. Almost the whole farm is covered in woods. About 30 hectares of the farming estate are cultivated with organically grown olive trees. The apartments are situated in two of the three farmhouses of the estate and they stand on the top of the hill, surrounded by a centuries-old olive grove and a cultivation of new olive trees. Eight apartments are located in the main farmhouse, the other two apartments are located in the other farmhouse. In the mansion house, where the landlords live, you will find a restaurant and some rooms. n nOnce at the property, you will see some beautiful buildings made of yellowish marble stones, situated on a higher level and surrounded by a green lawn: from here, you will be able to enjoy the beauty of the uncontaminated countryside. Every angle of the garden enables you to have a 360-degree view of a boundless expanse of hills covered in green of woods or in silver of olive groves. A few reddish roofs and the bell-tower of a small village nearby can be spotted away when you are in the garden. The air is clear, colors are vivid and bright, and there is peace and tranquility. The smell of herbs and flowers fill the air... n nAt roughly 200 meters, you will find the the mansion where the landlords live. Here is a small restaurant where you can taste the genuine family-dishes of Umbria . Goods produced in the farm are also for sale: extra-virgin olive oil, wine, grappa, pasta, and sauces with truffle. The landlords are very fond of their farm and will greet you in a warm and friendly way. They will help with anything you need making sure you have your privacy respected. n nYou will find a beautiful swimming pool in the garden. Part of the garden is consecrated to children, being equipped with swings and slides. Also, a ping-pong table and mountain bikes are available for the guests of the apartments. n nIf you are keen on hiking, you will be able to walk along paths traced into the woods of the farming estate. n nAt roughly 5 km from the estate you will find riding stables, tennis courts and sport fishing areas. n nA laundry service is available at the property upon request, for extra cost. You can ask for this service to the property managers, once you are at the property. n nThe swimming pool is 7 meters (23 feet) large by 14 meters (46 feet) long. The swimming pool area is equipped with sun umbrellas, sun loungers and an external shower. From the swimming pool you will enjoy a spellbinding view of the Umbrian hills. You will share the pool with the other guests staying at the complex. It is open from the beginning of May until the end of September, from 9 am to 8 pm. n nThe garden is equipped with tables and chairs. In the garden you will find a children's playgrounds. Here you will also find a brickwork barbecue. From the garden you will enjoy a spellbinding view of the vegetation. You will share the garden with the other guests staying at the complex, and there will be an area reserved for your exclusive use. n nThe living room is paved with Tuscan terracotta tiles. The ceiling is sloping and has characteristic exposed wood beams and terraccotta tiles. The furnishings are warm and welcoming. They include a divan that unfolds into a double bed. There is a fireplace made of bricks. In this room you will find a small satellite television. n nThe kitchen is equipped with a four-burner electric cooker, a small refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, an Italian-style coffee-maker and a toaster. There is a table to seat four guests. The kitchen has a window with a view of the garden. n nYou will be able to enter the bedroom from the living room. The furnishings are warm and elegant.
