Around the house covers an acre of land fenced in which we created a garden, an olive grove that produces an excellent extra virgin, strictly organic garden and a grove of tall trees. So we can enjoy tomatoes, chard, zucchini, salads of various kinds, peas, beans, broccoli and cauliflower, grapes, strawberries, depending on the season. We also collect from our belowed trees plums, peaches, apricots, apples and walnuts. The tranquil location is a heaven of peace and quiet while at the same time being very close to all amenities offered by the busy market town of Marsciano. The house is located about 12 km from the main road through the centre of Umbria linking Assisi (30 minutes), Perugia (20 minutes), Orvieto (40 minutes), Todi (15 minutes) and Spoleto (50 minutes). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FURTHER DETAILS Normally guests are welcome no earlier than 15 and check out is at 11 o'clock. A welcome pack of wine, water,milk, home made bread and oil extra virgin home produced is provided and the kitchen is supplied with basics such as tea, coffee, sugar etc. We can offer guests some extras that they not find elsewhere such as home cooked meals on arrival or during their stay. People can ski at the top of the mountain whose slopes reach down to the outskirts of the Argento coast. Skiing: the ski slopes are about 10 minutes by car from the farm. In winter there are several kilometers of slopes equipped with two chair lifts and ski lifts. The closest thermal bath (20 minutes by car) is at San Filippo in the area there are thermal baths at Bagni Vignone or San Casciano up to those at Petriolo and Saturnia. Mount Amiata has always been a crossroads of intense spiritual activity thanks to its churches and to the Via Francigena which flanks it in the north. We Cultivate olive trees, grapevines, fruit and vegetables and produce our oil and wine following traditional and ancient methods, available to an orchard and organic garden. There is a large stunning swimming pool (5 x 14m), with spacious terraces, set into the hillside. There is plenty of shade and excellent views of the surrounding area (the views are similar to an infinity pool). There are comfortable sunloungers and chairs and there is a paddling pool for babies. Each accommodation has private terraces with shade. Each terrace has comfortable outdoor furniture and barbecue grill. There are well established herb and flowers gardens that surround the property. Bikes are available to borrow. There are 15 acres of farm, woodland and countryside to enjoy while staying with us. The unspoilt countryside is abundant with wildlife. Deer, wild boar, porcupines, hares, eagles, lizards and a wide variety of birds frequently roam the land. COAST/BEACH Fano beach is about 1 hours drive from the farm and is perfect for families with young children as it is very wide beach with shallow water. The wonderful sandy beaches of Sirolo are only 1 hour 20 mins drive away. Lake Trasimeno (35 min drive) has a life guarded beach and some excellent seafood restaurants. SPECIAL INTEREST HOLIDAYS We are open all year round, You can walk to the two local villages of Ramazzano (4 mins), Casa del Diavolo (10 mins) and surrounding the farm there are miles of stunning open countryside, perfect for walking, climbing, painting and cycling. The medieval towns of Perugia and Gubbio (20 mins drive away) have some of the best restaurants in Umbria and a lively nightlife.
