Description:Asheville is such a wonderful place to visit! I love living here next to the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are amazing restaurants, microbreweries (we are the 1 beer city in the country), hiking, river sports, music scene, theater, eclectic shops, and so much more that you will absolutely fall in love with our beautiful town. When you stay in my home, you will truly experience the serenity of this country like setting and the convenience of being just 10 minutes from downtown. You will have your own bedroom with a queen bed with your own bathroom in my 3 bedroom 2 bath house. I have an open room to use for yoga, dance, tai chi, etc. Hardwood floors are throughout the home. There are 5 acres of woods in the back. There is no TV, but if you bring your laptop you can surf the web and watch movies. I'll provide some movies for you to choose from. A make it yourself breakfast is included in the price which consists of my farm fresh eggs, homemade muffins, homemade jam, fresh fruit, OJ, coffee and tea. I have a business that I run out of my home, so I'm here most all the time during the day. I love to meet people from other places and hear their stories if you'd like to share. Bikes can also easily be rented in town too, heck you can just walk to a bike store and rent one. Earth Fare (healthy living food store), is just around the corner. Downtown is a 15 minute bike ride or less than 5 minute drive. The entrance to Biltmore is a little over 5 minutes away. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 10 minutes away. Downtown is about 2 miles away, less as the crow flies, so much to do and see. TV with Netflix and Pandora. We live in the other portion of the house with our three kids. Description:We own a historic home built in 1929. Jenna is a musician and a music teacher and M.C. is an educator, private tutor and writer. You may see us but it it is unlikely you will hear us. The 1929 concrete walls are very thick. You won't hear from us, unless we hear from you. Once in a while though in the summer, I have become quite excited when our Night Blooming Cereus, blossoms and I envite guests over for wine and to bask in it's scent and beauty. We have had our business since 2008 and loved it since. Your bedroom is an addition to the home. We live in one side and you the other of the 4000 total sq. ft. The 700 sq.ft. luxury suite. Jenna will give you a tour, show you the books in the suite about the area, hiking, a large resource binder on everything you want to know about Asheville, tell you about all of the amazing local restaurants, and more. I am available by cell 24hrs. and provide an airport driving service for a small gas fee. I also provide a designated driving service all night hours for a small cost so you can drink and not drive! Laundry service is available as well. If your stay is longer than two weeks then we clean and change the sheets. Of course your towels are changed weekly or as needed. As for the beauty of your space, it fills with the morning eastern sun as well as the setting sun all with large windows. You bedroom opens to sliding doors onto a patio and into a private backyard. Furnished with antiques yet housed with all the comforts of modern technology. Convenient to downtown though located in a beautiful quite historic neighborhood. Walking distance to the popular West Asheville neighborhood. Amenities: private bath, NO smoking, Wi-Fi, two TV's, DVD/VCR combo with over 100 movie choices. Description:A traditional brick colonial solidly built in 1925 situated in a pleasant, calm in town neighborhood with fabulous old oaks and plenty of strolling possibilities. 1.5 mile from downtown Asheville, and 0.8 mile from Biltmore Village and the entrance to the Biltmore House. The Blue Ridge Parkway is just minutes away. Mission Hospital is 0.5 mile away. Veterans Administration Hospital is 5 minutes away. The house is also available for monthly rentals. The house is tastefully decorated to provide you with a calm oasis very close to central Asheville, also know as the Paris of the South for its many cafes and European flavor. Accomodates 6 people with ease. The living room is bright and casually elegant. There is a fireplace with gas logs for cozy ambiance. The bedrooms have plush mattresses. The master bedroom has a kig size bed. The middle bedroom has a queen and the third bedroom has two twin beds. All linens are provided. The bedrooms provide beautiful views of the trees and distant mountains can be seen from the front bedroom through the leaves. They are very bright and airy and perfect for napping, sleeping, or reading quietly. Please note that all bedrooms are on the second floor. There is a television room off the living room with a 32 flat screen television. We provide expanded cable channel selection for television viewing as well as high speed internet. Netflix is provided as well. The house has wifi throughout. Ceiling fans are provided in each room of the house. There is a private deck with a view of the back garden. Patio furniture is provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove and oven and refrigerator, but it is a country kitchen meaning that it is not super modern (no diswasher or disposal). We provide recycling bins and encourage you to use them.We also compost vegetable material. There are pots and pans and cutlery provided. If you have special needs, let us know and we will try to accomodate. We live very close by. The dining room table has two leaves for expansion and seats 6 people. The main bathroom has a tub and shower with a rain showerhead and small heating fan. The second bathroom provides a toilet and sink. A washer and dryer are provided for your use. They are located in the basement. The heat is radiated steam heat. Perfect and even throughout the house. We suggest you turn the thermostat down in the evening for cooler sleeping. Located in a beautiful two story, owner-occupied home, the apartment is on the ground floor on the right hand side of the house. The home is on a quiet side street and offers off-street parking and a safe and friendly neighborhood. On site eco-considerations: organically raised chickens (NO ROOSTERS), rain barrels for water cachement, organic vegetable gardens, composting, and vermiculture (worms eat my garbage and provide me with their nutrient rich castings). Enjoy the lovely back yard gardens and be entertained by my seven goofy chickens. Take a walk to downtown and along the way you'll see historic homes, several luxury bed and breakfasts like The Lion and The Rose and The Black Walnut Inn. Side walks still have some of the original bricks from the early 1900's. If you happen to be here on a Wednesday and decide to walk downtown for lunch, stop at the local farmer's market on the way back. It's located in the parking lot of the Chamber of Commerce. You'll find artisan goat cheese, pastries, fresh flowers and mouth watering vegetables, all locally grown. Perhaps you'll stop in one of our two neighborhood pubs, Tod's and Nine Mile Cafe, which is just two blocks from the apartment. In the other direction, you'll find the Asheville Botanical Garden an easy walk. Each species of native vegetation is marked for easy identification. Enjoy their quaint gift shop. Adjacent to the Botanical Gardens is University of North Carolina's Asheville campus. The apartment has Wi-Fi . A sunny large kitchen with dining table and chairs. Full size refrigerator and full size gas stove/oven. The shower has plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure. High count cotton bed linens and bath towels are provided. As a special treat, my girls happily provide a basket of fresh eggs for a morning breakfast omelet. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans/cooking utensils, wine glasses, toaster, and blender. I am a former professional chef and baking instructor (pastry chef at The Biltmore Estate) and so recommending great food is my passion. There's plenty to choose from here. I can tell you where Anthony Bourdain ate when he was here. Come see for yourself why Asheville has been called The Paris of the South and Trip Advisor lists Asheville on the Top 10 Destinations for Food and Wine. Have a spa experience and enjoy a restful yoga class and enjoy a late lunch ... all downtown and within walking distance. Recent guest remarks: We met Cathy when we rented her furnished apartment in Asheville for a month (August 2011). We immediately became great friends. The apartment was beautiful -- clean, light and open. She had thought of all the little details to make us completely comfortable during our stay, and the kitchen was the best outfitted of any short term furnished rental I have come across. Since I love to cook (and that's one of the reasons I use a furnished rental instead of motel/hotel options when I travel) this was really important to me. Chickens and an organic garden in the back yard in an area full of trees and greenery made an urban location feel like a country retreat. There was also a beautiful common sitting area in the back yard which was the locus of many a pleasant evening conversation or spontaneous potluck meal. We were close to downtown and to the University with its wonderful Saturday tailgate market. Perfect location and perfect hostess! We made a friend for life when we had the good fortune to rent this lovely place from Cathy! January 2012 guests from Winston-Salem: Cathy's house is a wonderful way to visit Asheville. Close walk to the downtown and a stone's throw from Montford Park. The apartment, moreover, is comfortable and quiet, with useful amenities and private bathroom. Description:My house in Asheville NC is a completely remodeled historic home built 100 years ago. Regarding the location, I live in a safe, quiet middle class neighborhood very close to downtown. The walk to restaurants, clubs and bars is around 7-10 minutes, depending on where you're headed. If you're here during April-October, I live just up the street, ( 2 minute walk ) from one of the nicest tailgate farmers' markets in the city. There is plenty of room between my house and the neighbors, so when you look outside you see nature, not other people. The space I'm renting out is the first floor, which you'll have all to yourself since my boyfriend and I live on the second floor. It's around 800 square feet. All of the facilities described below are private and not shared. The apartment has thick walls and new windows, so the heater and the AC function efficiently, and noise from outside is minimal. There's a private entrance for you which we never use. (PLEASE NOTE: The stairs that lead from the street up to the entrance are quite steep, so if you have physical limitations please consider this when booking). You'll find a very comfortable queen size Tempur Pedic bed with nice linens to sleep soundly in, and a queen size futon that can be used for a couch in the cozy living room area, or converted to an extra bed. There's a separate kitchenette with microwave, fridge, sink & countertop, toaster oven, coffee maker and electric kettle as well as a small dining table and all the utensils you will need. There's a nice newly remodeled full bathroom. All of the water in the house is on a filtration system making it great for drinking and showers. There is wireless internet access. You'll have a private covered porch. In the winter you can see downtown clearly from your window, but in the other seasons the view is of the trees. It's a really beautiful place. Parking is easy, there's always a spot on my street. Although the apartment is separate, renters and host are able to hear each other. The spiral stairway between the 2 floors of the house is sealed off with thick foam which cuts down on, but does not eliminate, sounds traveling between the 2 spaces. For the price of a cramped hotel room you get two generously sized bedrooms with queen-sized beds, living room, dining room, and kitchen (with awesome vintage 1950s details!). Asheville has great weather most months of the year - take advantage and enjoy your morning coffee on the front or back porch. Located on a quiet, dead-end street in a convenient north Asheville neighborhood. Just minutes to shopping on Merrimon Avenue, a 12-minute drive to downtown Asheville and 6-minute drive to to UNC-Asheville, and 30 minutes to hiking and hot tubs in Hot Springs. It's also 2 blocks from the north Asheville bus line, and I'm happy to provide routes and schedules if you're interested. You can also walk to the recently-opened free yoga studio and take advantage of drop-in classes (they are a non-profit that accepts love offerings). TV and DVD player are available, as well as a DVD collection (as long as your taste runs to BBC dramas or sci-fi!). The guest bedroom has a private entrance on to the back porch.
