Description:so many places say they are close to the action but really they aren't. i've lived here 18 years and know a ton of great local spts so if you need any advice i'm happy to help. this is my house i live here, my belongings will be here during your stay. i'd like for my guests to be a good fit with my home. Normally $200 night for 4 people $50 more each person staying per night up to 6 maybe 7 have done 8. Easy access to the SXSW action by bicycle. Only three miles from the Austin Convention Center and Sixth Street area. We're also a hop, skip and jump from the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar for you movie buffs. The house is a 1950s bungalow with gorgeous wood floors, freshly painted and restored. It will be furnished with two full beds, a twin bed, futon and sofas to sleep up to seven people. Other amenities include Wifi and TV, and the university across the street has a library and a great track for running. Description:We have a wonderful,completely renovated 1930's stucco cottage across the river from down town. Travis Heights is arguably the MOST precious of Austin's neighborhoods: safe and walkable with huge oak and pecan trees,beautiful old(1880's) and new houses ranging from adorable to amazing. NOTE: The cottage has one private bedroom with a queen bed, the other beds are futons, couches and a mattress. It is close to EVERYTHING: UT, the Capitol, the Texas History Museum, the airport, the Convention Center, Barton Springs,Zilker, the Sculpture Garden, the Botanical Garden, the Wildflower center- to most points of interest in Austin. Woodland intersects South Congress, which is the center of SOCO with restaurants, artsy shops, fun, lots of people, and has a view of down town and the Texas Capitol. You MUST eat at Home Slice, Vespaio's and South Congress Cafe- and you MUST go to the historic Continental Club as well as Guero's ( all a right turn on Congress from Woodland). My husband's great-grandparents and grandparents had grocery store and butcher shop at the Vespaio location, and some of his old family photos are on the walls inside the entrance:- The amazing Stacy Park walking/biking trail is just a 5 minute stroll from home across Travis Heights blvd down the hill. It is not crowded, like Town Lake Trail can be some times. If you go left on the trail in Stacy Park you end up at the swimming pool (open all year), and a right turn takes you to the shaded playground, tennis courts and kiddie pool(open in the summer). DOG PARK The Austin dog park is at the intersection of Riverside and Travis Heights blvd, a nice walk through Travis Heights, across Riverside, to Edgecliff. TOWN LAKE TRAIL The Riverside/Travis Heights intersection is also where you can start your walk on the Lady Bird Trail by turning either left or right on Riverside. If you go right, you come to the protected sidewalk along 35 that takes you to the trail on the other side. If you go left on Riverside you can walk to The Statesman and enter the trail through their parking lot. BATS This is also the way you go to see the bats- the trail from the Statesman goes to the stairs at the bat bridge. Down town is just across the water from there. LAKEVIEW W/FOOD Joe's Crabshack is on the way to the Statesman, and has a great view from the outside dining area.Most of the food is not to my liking, but you can't beat it for a drink and a down town view- and for watching the UT rowing team, if you're lucky. You can rent canoes and kayaks yourself several places on the lake. If driving to the Town Lake trail: take a left on Riverside, go across Barton Springs Road and South First Street to Lamar. The dedicated walking/ biking bridge across the lake is wonderful. GROCERIES - There is a small, locally owned ( the owner is often there working) grocery store at the corner of Woodland and Congress. It is called Farm to Market,and has quality food and wine. There is an HEB at the corner of Congress and Oltorf. It is an OLD one- my husband shopped there with his grandparents in the 50's! Description:This home was renovated on HGTV's Property Brothers in December and is PERFECT for staying a night or a few nights. Everything is new and as seen on TV. We've just bought the Tempur-pedic Allura mattress so you will surely get a relaxing night's sleep. 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms (2 queen beds, 1 sofa bed, 1 couch, and 2 blow up mattresses) The condo has a full sized kitchen and an open concept living/dining room. This property was completely renovated by Jon and Drew from Property Brothers (it just completed and should air end of April!). 1000 sq ft, hardwood floors throughout, very spacious, fully furnished, washer/dryer, stocked kitchen, free internet, cable and up to 3 designated parking spots right next to the condo and many more visitor spots within 50 ft). Generally the fridge is stocked with eggs, bacon and fresh milk and we have a coffee maker, coffee, splenda, sugar, cereal, etc...We love our breakfast so it is generally well-stocked. There is a grill right next to our condo by the pool also. The condo is located just steps from the 24 hour fitness center,which features a 24 hour hot tub (awesome in the winter or summer), 3 pools including a water volleyball court, full gym, outdoor grilling cabana and a private theater (seriously!). Large wrap around deck that has gorgeous views overlooking the beautiful Hill Country and a private grill (and one by the pool)...When we bought the condo, they advertised it as resort style living and that is exactly what it is. Also beautiful views of the Austin skyline from the top of Shepherd Mountain (~.5 mile walk or 1 minute drive). 15 minutes from downtown via Route 2222 or Hwy 360, so it's in an excellent location that is by far one of the the nicest neighborhoods in Austin. The condo is walking distance from some of the most famous trails in Austin specifically the cliff overlooking the 360 bridge (as seen in above pictures). Truly an enjoyable experience, especially since the complete renovation by the Property Brothers! The condo complex is called Monte Vista. The fridge is generally stocked with necessities, and there is an HEB 7-10 minutes away and a Wal-Mart 10-12 minutes away. is the website. Description:Summer Rental- 3 bedroom, 2 full Bathroom House in South Austin! Perfect for a couple or small family. 1 Bed, 2 Air Mattresses, Couch opens into a full size bed. Sleeps 7-8 comfortably. Full kitchen, towels, etc. Large living room and kitchen. Big backyard with fire pit and space to relax. There's a pool table and washer and dryer in the garage, as well as storage space. 15 Mins to Barton Creek and the Green Belt! 15 mins to downtown, 10 mins to S. Congress. Parking for 2 cars in driveway and also street parking. A great neighborhood that is very safe. Easy access to south austin clubs, and 5 mins to 35 or Mopac, so you can access downtown and north austin quickly. Five minutes to Evangeline cafe, the best cajun food in town and killer live music venue. 3 mins to grocery stores, cleaners, etc... Come stay at a killer hang pad for the Summer! The place is available anywhere from June 10- Aug. 18, however I would like to rent it for two months. My start and finish dates are flexible within a couple of days- just ask!
