Asheville, NC is home to many cultural events, shopping and great restaurants and is just 20 miles away. n nOur home is centrally located to many spectacular scenic areas such as Chimney Rock (filming location of The Last of the Mohicans), with its sweeping mountain vistas, and quaint downtown along the Broad River. Take the kids to play in the refreshing river waters or at the beach at Lake Lure. Elegant and casual fine dining abound. n nTake a boat tour of Lake Lure and see the filming location of the movie Dirty Dancing. If you love to shop for handmade crafts or locally grown foods and honey, Gerton is seven minutes from the cabin and Black Mountain, Asheville, and Hendersonville are just 25 minutes away! n nThe Flat Rock Playhouse, Biltmore Estates, Brevard Music Center and numerous fine art galleries are all within a short drive. If photography or nature hikes are your delight, Dupont and Pisgah National Forest overflow with gorgeous waterfalls and scenic overlooks of the Blue Ridge Parkway. n nMain level bedrooms (3) have 1 queen bed, downstairs bedroom has 1 king bed, twin with trundle and a Porta-crib. Parking for 4 cars, level entry w/3 steps up into home. Deck is accessed from main level. Perfect for visitors who are elderly or have minor to moderate mobility problems. Kitchen is very well equipped. We have recently completed a new 400 square foot outside living area that has rocking chairs, a gas grill and a dining table. Description:The Applehouse cabin is located in Bat Cave and 2 miles from Chimney Rock Park and Lake Lure. The cabin is riverfront,fully equipped with central a/c, and has a deck on the riverside with full access to the river for fishing, swimming and tubing. The river is stocked weekly by the State of NC Hatchery Dept from April- September . We are centrally located for you to go out and enjoy a a day of white water rafting, horseback riding, rock climbing at Chimney Rock Park, hiking and golfing.
