By car you reach it the best by motorway, take exit Adlershof, from there take the Ernst Ruska Ufer about 2.5 km to Adlergestell (railway bridge) and then keep right. After 1 km keep right direction to Schmöckwitz. You drive straight to the S Grunau station over, drive through the wooded area about 8 miles, and then you have finally reachthe district Schmöckwitz. The Brandenburg Gate, a landmark both before and after reunification, is the most famous monument in Berlin. From here the magnificent boulevard Unter den Linden runs almost all the way to Alexanderplatz with its Television Tower and World Time Clock. On the way you will be passing the Humboldt University, the oldest university in Berlin, Staatsopera (the Operahouse), Museumsinsel (the Museum Island) and the site of the future Stadtschloss (town castle). The Museumsinsel (Museum Island) is a World Heritage site. It is a treasure trove of famous museums. Friedrichstrasse is today a commercial shopping boulevard with noble and grand shopping stores like Galerie Lafayette, Quartier Latin and various international couture boutiques.
