Description:Large, elegant Victorian apartment steps away from Buckingham Place and Big Ben perfect for weekends/long weekends in London and the Olympics. The flat has been recently renovated and comes fully equipped. High ceilings, big windows with views of the garden, period charm, a quiet street, a huge bed and bedroom and an enormous living room all add up to a really lovely space. The location is unbeatable. There are 3 tube stations - St James Park, Victoria and Westminster - all within 10 minutes walk. This means it takes about 45 minutes tube travel time to reach from Heathrow, 30 minutes from Gatwick and 20 minutes from the Eurostar (St Pancras). Once you get here you can pretty much walk everywhere! The Thames, Tate Britain, Michelin starred restaurants, Belgravia, Chelsea, Hyde Park, St James Park and the West End are all within easy walking distance. There are great local restaurants and cute pubs close by too. For the sporty, the options are great: as well as the chance to run or cycle (bike hire at the end of the street) in the Royal Parks there is a great local sports and swimming club (open access) as well as a hot yoga studio less than 5 minutes walk away. You can even organise to kayak on the Thames if you dare. There is a 2nd bedroom which can be rented by special arrangement (it is suitable for kids and equipped with bunk beds). Description:A comfortable and quaint two-bedroomed town cottage, in one of the most stunning areas of natural beauty in the UK. There are two double bedrooms, one with a real double bed, the other set up as an office with double sofabed. There is also a sofabed in the lounge. With simple, attractive furnishing throughout, you'll find everything you need for a great stay: a clean, well equipped kitchen a big bathroom a large dining room with open Victorian fireplace comfortable lounge with fireplace, TV, and DVD. You will have wifi access. The Seaside neighbourhood of Eastbourne has convenient supermarkets, shops, pubs, and fish and chips! The house is a five minute stroll (through a park with a lake) from the sea, and just a 10 minute bus ride from the town centre. The bus stops right outside. Eastbourne is an attractive, seaside town with a Victorian pier, High Street shops and independent retailers and cafes. We have an international tennis tournament in early summer, while the autumn brings a beer festival, and you can see stand-up comedy and a range of shows at local venues. Take a walk along the spectacular, rolling cliffs and South Downs, followed by a visit to a country pub. Or why not borrow my kayak and go for a paddle! For art and design buffs, see Towner - Eastbourne's own award-winning gallery, affiliated with London's Tate. There's also the modernist icon, De La Warr Pavillion, just 11 miles away. And Brighton - with its amazing Georgian Pavillion, narrow lanes and trendy, hippie shops - is only 20 miles along the coast. Literature lovers can visit Virginia Woolf or Rudyard Kipling's homes nearby. For small children, as well as the beach, there are plenty of small, fun playparks - indoor and out. Gatwick is only 45 minutes away by train. What's more, London is easily accessible by car or train (1 and a half hours), making an evening in a West End theatre a real possibility. Most of the capital's museums and galleries are now free. But who needs that when Eastbourne has 3 theatres of its own?! For those who want to venture further afield during their trip, London and Ashford nearby offer a gateway to Paris and Europe. Hop on the Eurostar train and be in Paris in 3 hours! Alternatively, take a ferry from Newhaven (20 minute drive from Eastbourne) for a wonderful day trip to Dieppe in north France.... more info >>
