Description:The apartment is within the City walls of Chichester, just off one of the main shopping streets, so it’s quiet but still really central. There’s one bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom. The kitchen opens onto the dining area and living room where there is a double sofa bed so you can easily sleep two couples in the apartment, there is a separate toilet (as well as the WC in the en-suite). I have a decent office setup with internet and a WiFi connection, the solid Oak desk / workstation was brilliantly engineered and crafted by one of my good friends. There are games, PS3/BluRay, DVD’s, and a bicycle available for use. The development has a concierge service if you need anything and a secure underground car park on site (available with prior arrangement and a small deposit). I can organise high-chairs / cots for little ones. Chichester is a historical English cathedral city that dates back to Roman times. There’s a fair bit of culture in Chichester, with several art galleries, a well known theatre and an independent cinema. There are plenty of restaurants, including a Carluccio's and a Brassier Blanc literally around the corner if you fancy some thing simple, or there are some really fine restaurants in the area if you are after something special. Goodwood house is 10mins drive up the road up on the South Downs, during the summer they host the popular Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Vintage festivals as well as Glorious Goodwood horse racing event, there’s the flying club too (prices vary during Goodwood Festivals). Going the other direction (South) you have Chichester harbour and West Wittering which are great places for sailing or power boating and Kite / Wind surfing. A days RIB charter can be organised with prior arrangement. To the West the next big City is Portsmouth and to the East Brighton. The train station is 10mins walk away.... more info >>

Osborne Court is located 8 minutes walk from the Red Jet ferry terminal which runs regularly from Southampton Docks to the Isle of Wight. Southampton Docks are serviced by the free bus from Southampton Central. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes. Southampton Central is: - 12 minutes from Southampton Airport (Parkway) - 1 hour 15 minutes from London Waterloo - 2 hours from Gatwick Airport - 3 hours from London Heathrow (on public transport through London, but much quicker by car) Once on the island, bus transport is fairly reliable, if slow. Traveling by car, you can reach any destination no more than 45 minutes. Location... Cowes, Isle of Wight is otherwise known internationally as the spiritual home of sailing. St. Tropez and Monaco may be glamorous and international, Porto Cervo and Portofino may be international and glamorous, Sydney may have its fantastic opera house and harbour, Newport, Rhone Island has even had its day, and lets's not forget the Caribbean and its champagne sailing, but yacht racing was born here, in the form of the original America's Cup in 1851! Today, sailing is a major attraction for visitors to the Isle of Wight, with the highlight of the season being Cowes Week. However, thoughout the summer, numerous regattas take place every weekend and fill the town during the summer months. However, sailing is not all that Cowes has to offer. It is currently home to a number of unique craft boutiques, a handful of mainstream shops, a bakery, speciality wine shop, old fashioned sweet shops, a health food store, fishmonger, traditional butcher, and of course the obligatory sailing chandleries and clothing shops. Oh, and lets not forget more than a handful of good old reliable British pubs. As for other outdoor pursuits, the Isle of Wight pretty much has it all, from kitesurfing to walking, golf to shooting, horse riding to cycling. History... Welcome to Osborne Court, Cowes, Isle of Wight, once home to the Women's Royal Naval Service, popularly known as the Wrens. The Wrens division once included cooks, clerks, wireless telegraphists, radar plotters, weapons analysts, range assessors, electricians and air mechanics. In other words, some talented, driven, intellectual women. This female only branch of the Royal Navy was formed during the First World War in 1917, and by the end of the war had 5,500 members, 500 of them officers. The division was disbanded in 1919, only to be revived in 1939 at the beginning of the Second World War. At this time the Wrens possessed an expanded list of allowable activities, including the flying transport planes in conjunction with the WRAF. At its peak in 1944 there were approximately 75,000 women in the Wrens, approximately 60 of whose number resided in Osborne Court. Today, Osborne Court houses the same 60 apartments, now all privately owned. The entrance hall and restaurant at ground floor are particularly reminiscent of the 1930's era in which the building was constructed. Overlooking the Solent, and the entrance to the River Medina, Osborne Court is a beautiful, historic and central place to stay whilst on the Isle of Wight.... more info >>
