Description:THE FLAT My one bedroom flat is in zone 2 (postcode W10) and it's on the 4th floor (accessible with a lift). It has a big balcony over looking the 'Grand Union Canal'. From there you can sit and enjoy the evening sun and sunset while small house boats pass by. I love waking up in the morning being able to see the sky, it gives the flat a bright and airy feeling. My flat has dark wooden floor except in the bedroom where I have cream carpet. The bedroom has a double bed and the living room has a comfortable double bed sofa. I provide with bed linens, towels, washing liquid, shampoo and body wash- so one less thing for you to pack:-) And please feel free to have a cup of tea/​coffee or some cereals whenever you want. THE AREA The flat is 5 minutes away from a huge Sainsbury's supermarket but a smaller convenience store is just cross the road. One of London's best yoga studios is in the same building There's also a very small gym down the road that currently charges £35/​month with no sign up fee and can be cancelled at any time without penalties. The famous 'Portobello market' packed with boutique shops, antiques and lots of bars and restaurants is 10 minutes walk away. TRANSPORTATION The closest tube is Westborne Park which is also about 5-10 minutes walk away. Bus 23 takes you right from my house into Oxford street's busy shopping district in about 40 minutes (buses are slow in London...). One of UK's biggest shopping malls, Westfield, is 3 tube stops away. I have hosted models from all over the world through a model agency and I have also done a very successful 'home exchange' with a flat in Barcelona. I love hosting people making sure they feel at home in 'my' city (although I'm actually Swedish). I have free WiFi internet and of course, a washing machine but no dish washer. CHARGES FOR THE ENTIRE FLAT I'm flexible with the length of stay anything from a night to a month. I charge £100/​night, £675/​week, £2000/​month. If you are more then two people, I add £15 per night/​per person. However, during the London Olympic games (27/​07-12/​08) my flat is only available for a minimum of 3 weeks for a flat rate of £2000. During the Paralympic games (29/​8-9/​11) there's a minimum stay of 2 weeks for the flat rate of £1330. CHARGES FOR THE DOUBLE BED ROOM ONLY A cheaper option (£50 per person/​per night) is to rent the double room only- with access to the kitchen and bathroom while I stay/​sleep in the living room. This option is obviously less private but the good thing is that I'm here to assist you with any questions you might have about London- I can truly make you feel at home. As mentioned above, I have hosted models this way before and it worked out brilliantly! Again, I'm open for suggestions and I will try to get a deal that suits YOU. It is a tasteful loft conversion of an old copper factory with shipyard floors and old brick walls downstairs, a minstrel gallery upstairs (the bedroom area) and a roof terrace with skyline views in all four directions, from the BT tower to the city. The bathroom has a shower and a bath and there is a fully equipped kitchen with modern dishes etc. and all amenities. There is wireless hi speed internet and cable TV. It's central location is sandwiched between Clerckenwell, Old St, Barbican, Shoreditch and Liverpool St in one of the most sought out areas of london 3 mins from the Barbican which has theatre, dance, films, a library etc., 3 mins from Old St roundabout and 10 mins to Soho. There are many shops, cafe's deli's galleries, markets and restaurants immediately nearby as well as lots of clubs and bars in the area, although the street is very quiet and residential. It is also about 10 mins walk to the river near the Tate modern and the Southbank. There are massive windows throughout giving tons of light. the back of the loft looks onto a large open courtyard with a centuries old tree. This location is superb any time of year but is extra special for the Olympics. Experience London life in a trendy neighbourhood with fast transport links to enjoy the 2012 venues. Linens provided. For stays longer than seven nights, the flat will be serviced by a cleaner at weekly intervals at no additional cost. In fact there are no cleaning fees on this rental at all! I've lived in this area of London for nine years and absolutely love it and hope you will too. I'm happy to also provide a list of local places for you to reference... I've lived in the area for so long I know many of the area business owners by name! Transport links are the real perk to this property - you're just three minutes walk to Highbury & Islington Underground & Overground. Canonbury Overground is also three minutes walk. For London 2012 visitors - the Overground goes right from H&I and Canonbury into Stratford. H&I Underground is on the Victoria Line, but Kings Cross is just one stop away with links to many other tube lines. If you prefer to walk directly to the Piccadilly line, its a 15 minute walk north from Highbury & Islington Station to Holloway tube. As is the Northern line 15 minutes south to Angel. Many buses also pickup outside the flat and take you straight into Central London. For example the 19 will take you to Piccadilly Circus and the 43 goes by Bank on the way to London Bridge. Buses outside the flat will also drop you by Oxford Street, Waterloo, and the Strand. If you don't feel like taking a short tube ride to Covent Garden the number 19 bus drops on Charing Cross Road and you can walk to Apple Market at Covent Garden, the Royal Opera House, London Transport Museum, Leciester Square, London's China Town, and Trafalgar Square. As for the flat itself, it is a fully furnished one bedroom flat. The master bedroom is a healthy size for London at 4m x 3.5m (13.12ft x 11.5 ft). Storage in the master is a huge Pax IKEA wardrobe system. The bedroom has neutral carpeting. The bathroom has recently been refurbished and includes a bathtub with both a shower head on gas and an electronic power shower. It is fully titled. However, if you prefer the lauderette, there is one on the corner of St Pauls Road and other up at Highbury Barn. If visitors are interested in going to the gym, Highbury Pool and Fitness Centre is just across from Highbury & Islington Station. It has a beautiful indoor pool with skylight, children's pool, yoga studios, cardio, and other gym weights. You can pay per visit so there's no need to sign any contracts. Fees are very reasonable. If tennis is your thing than this really is the flat for you. Highbury Fields Park just up the road has some of the best tennis courts in all of London. The park is free to enter and includes a children's play area, fantastic tennis courts, and cafe for breakfast and lunch in the park. As for local churches, the closest are an beautiful old Anglican Church just by Highbury Fields on Highbuy Park and a Catholic Church a further few minutes up the road still on Highbury Park. Both are walking distance from the flat. There is a local Buddist Centre walking distance from the flat just off St Paul's Road on Holloway that offers yoga and meditation classes. And there are also nearby neighbourhood mosques and synagogues as well. And if you're just after some relaxation there a few spa and relaxation places on Upper Street including Neals Yard Spa and Herbal Inn. As for emergencies: The closest trauma hospital is University College London by Warren Street tube off the Victoria Line. It's a main hospital that takes walk-ins and trauma cases. It is an established teaching hospital in London staffed with some of the best Consultants in the world. It is a ten minute ride on the Victoria line from H&I. For eyecare Moorfields Eye Hospital is by Old Street and can be reached by catching the 43 bus at Highbury & Islington Station. The bus drops out front the eye hospital. Moorfields has a 24-hour emergency room for any eye concerns. And finally, for emergency dental concerns Eastman Dental Hospital is located on Grays Inn Road. The quickest way to get there is to take the Underground to Kings Cross and walk down. All of these hospitals are within 30 minutes travel time on public transport and 20 in a taxi (including traffic and minor travel delays).
