Although I have been letting out my home(s) for the last twenty five years, I am new to Airbnb and so sorry, not many reviews. I have only had three Airbnb lets [the first was on the 16th April] - two have given reviews and a third is on the way I am told [and hope]. Having one of London’s exclusive Post/Zip Codes, SW1Y, the apartment is in the area where most of the private clubs are located. Just off Piccadilly Circus and only 150m from Trafalgar Square, it is near to The Ritz, Café Royal and is surrounded by many of the top 5* hotels [St Johns, Edwardian Hampshire, The Carlton, The Athenaeum, The Piccadilly, The W – rates for these hotels start at £295 a night up to £700 a night – the price reflecting just how central and exclusive the area is.] Most of London’s main attractions are only 5-10 minutes’ walk away – The Mall, St. James’ Park, Green Park, Buckingham Palace, St. James’ Palace, Clarence House, Spencer House, the Houses of Parliament, the Royal Academy, the National Gallery, the White Cube Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, Soho and China Town. The similar close proximity of Jermyn Street, Regent Street, Oxford Street, Carnaby Street and Bond Street makes shopping easy – no need for a train journey with lots of bags! Within a 500m radius, there are 15 theatres and 15 cinemas with numerous screens. It is 50m from Piccadilly Tube Station - the Piccadilly Line is direct from Heathrow. Staying in an SW1 location would save a party of four at least £30 per day by not having the travel costs to get into town. You are already there. About 20 minutes walk from the Tower of London Arkana, Conran, Kartell, Habitat, Tomado, McIntosh, Aram, Starck and the obligatory smattering of IKEA. Two double bedrooms each with own bathroom. Two huge roof terraces, both with outdoor table and one with barbecue. Nice living room with TV/DVD player and plenty of films, from Alfred Hitchcock to Zoolander and much more in between comedy, sci-fi, thrillers, Pixar, etc, etc . Lots of music to play as well I have very large CD collection so enjoy it all and be kind to the discs. There is also a single airbed for a 5th guest (please do not sleep on the couch) you can put the airbed in either the living room or the main bedroom. Children do count as people so please make sure you put the correct figure in the 'number of guests' box. You can plug your laptop/mp3 player into the hi-fi if you'd like to hear your own music through the speakers. All leads provided. For your arrival there will be milk and OJ in the fridge plus coffee, muffins, apples and bananas. Description:Stay on this lovely individual, comfortable boat in the heart of London and experience the capital from a different point of view. Jessie is a 57 foot canal boat (or narrowboat) completed in 2011. She is 6 foot 10 inches wide. She can sleep 4 people in comfort, for 2 she is luxurious. The boat has a warm inviting interior and space on deck to sit and watch the world go by. The appropriately named Little Venice (a name coined by the poet Robert Browning) is a very pretty corner of London, famous as home to hundreds of beautiful canal boats and convenient base from which to explore the capital. Two underground stations and good bus routes to all parts of the city are a short walk away. There is something very special about returning to the peace and quiet of the canal after a day in the city. There are lots of local pubs, restaurants, cafe and shops in the immediate neighbourhood. 2012 OLYMPICS Jessie will be in the Pool of Little Venice for six weeks covering the Olympic period. Since mooring costs have increased for me during this time I have had to increase the nightly rate but not by very much. This is still good value for a central location with all the fun of being on the water. See the calender for dates. Free Wifi connection. The sleeping accommodation is made up of a double cabin at the front with doors to a small but comfortable front deck. There are two single bunk beds to the centre of the boat and a very comfortable sofa which flattens out to a double bed in the living area. Which you choose to use is up to you. The bathroom has a shower, a fully flushing toilet, and a wash basin with shaving point. The living area is to the centre of the boat with a solid fuel stove for chilly evenings, a wall mounted digital TV (DVD/CD player). There is a large comfy sofa/bed (storage underneath for bedding). A folding dinning table and additional chairs allows for 6 place setting. The galley has a gas hob and oven with grill, a good size fridge with freezer compartment, a sink and draining board, cupboards and drawers housing all the usual kitchen equipment. Water is held in a tank onboard and needs topping up every few days (depending on your usage). This will be done by your host. Hot water is generated from the engine. Living on board is not quite like a conventional house and needs an understanding and patience with the natural limitations.It may therefore not be for everyone. Power is supplied from Jessie's battery via an inverter which supplies numerous 240 volt power points around the boat. The inverter restricts your use to 1800 watts at one time. Running the engine for a period each day takes care of the batteries and heats the water. Instructions will be given by your host who will be on call should you have a problem.... more info >>
