Description:This elegant and spacious historic Georgian house has 4 large stunning double bedrooms accommodating a maximum of 9 people. This grand dame was built in 1843 and has been lovingly restored. It oozes charm and is stuffed full of original features including an old fashioned English pantry and an outside 'privy' (but don't worry, there's 3 more toilets inside!). It's s situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with easy access to the heart of town and Greenwich for the Olympics. The house is spread over 4 floors with a large east facing garden with grassy lawn. A driveway to the front provides off street parking and is also set within a mature garden. We've recently planted a wildflower meadow at the bottom of the back garden in an attempt to support the local bee population. TRANSPORT A 3 minute walk will take you to the overland train station (Queens Road Peckham) which transfers to London Bridge in 7 minutes and Victoria in 20 minutes both direct. New Cross Gate tube with links to the East London line is also a 10 minute walk. The house is in ‘zone 2’ as defined by the underground tube map, so conveniently situated for the centre (zone 1) and the wonderful sights London has to offer. THE ROOMS The house has 4 bedrooms each with double beds and 3 bathrooms. One of the rooms also has a daybed in it so it can sleep an extra person, ideal for families. All towels and linen are provided, and don't worry if you've forgotten anything as we've a selection of shampoos and toiletries you can help yourself to. The house has an elegant double reception room on the entry level with a further snug room downstairs so there's heaps of living space. There is a homely kitchen dining space downstairs with access to the garden, ideal for eating outside when the weather's fine. IN THE AREA - Nearby Nunhead is a 10 min walk with a host of independent shops. Also at Nunhead you'll find Nunhead Cemetery a hidden gem of 52 acres of tranquil wilderness. It's fantastic place to go for a walk and is one of the seven great Victorian cemeteries in London. - A little closer is Peckham common which has a lovely green space and nice selection of independent cafes. Close to hand there's Frank's Café and Campari Bar a trendy pop-up bar situated on the 7th floor of Peckham's multi story car park (open in the summer). - Beyond the common is the very trendy East Dulwich which has a great selection of shops, delis, bars and restaurants. Camberwell and Goldsmiths art colleges can be reached easily by a 10 min bus journey. In a trendy vibrant neighbourhood you can enjoy a huge choice of specialist independent shops, restaurants and pubs all within walking distance but access to Oxford street and the Olympic site is easy via our nearby train station which links to the London Underground and overground lines,or by bus from the end of our road. Within 30 minutes you could be in Stratford or Charing Cross. The house itself is stylish and spacious with five bedrooms, two bathrooms plus three WCs. There's every comfort as well as a large garden with barbecue and decked areas for outside dining. The house is regularly used as a filming location but above all it's a comfortable family home that can easily accommodate two families. Description:Available for summer 2012 (to coincide with the Olympipc games in July and August), this spacious Victorian house with 4 double bedrooms in Highgate, north London. As well as 4 spacious bedrooms, the house has 3 bathrooms (1 ensuite), a garden and roof terrace, double reception room, large kitchen diner, and a wealth of period features. Highgate tube (Northern line) is a 7 minute walk, and there is a bus stop 2 minutes walk from the house, with buses every 5 minutes heading to central London. The beautiful Georgian village of Highgate is a 10 minute walk, with it's array of independent boutique shops, resturants and pubs. Once home to the likes of John Constable and Charles Dickens, it's famous residents now include George Michael, Jude Law and Kate Moss. There is the lovely Waterlow park close by which leads to the famous Highgate cemetry, where many historical figures, including Karl Marx (and more recently, Malcolm Maclaren) are buried. Highgate woods is just a 15 minute walk, with a great childrens playground and organic cafe, and the vast expanse of Hampstead Heath lies just beyond the village. The trendy area of Crouch End is also nearby (20 minute walk) with many more boutique shops, bars and restaurants. In the immediate vicinity is a convenience store, wine shop, DVD shop, cafes and dry cleaners. There is also a lovely local theatre called Jacksons Lane (another theatre is in the village, 'Upstairs at the Gatehouse') which always has interesting shows both for adults and children. North London has many more interesting enclaves to discover, such as the uber fashionable Primrose Hill, with it's beautiful park and views across London. Hampstead is a favourite destination and is easy to reach by tube, bus or even on foot across the heath. It, too offers many wonderful boutique shops and restaurants, and the cobbled streets lead to secret pathways and beautiful houses where many famous figures once resided (signified by the blue plaques on the front of the houses). In the house itself, WIFI is available as well as cable (Virgin Media) and DVD, XBOX, IPOD dock etc. Parking is restricted and parking permits will be included if required. The house is very family friendly with many toys and DVD's to entertain children, but these can also be removed upon request. Description:This is a great flat to visit London from! Just out of central London, still in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea it is located 2 streets from the northern end of the Portobello Road with all its restaurants, coffee bars, interesting shops and market. This is a very eclectic part of London with longstanding local Spanish, Moroccan and Portuguese communities sharing the local facilities with top designers Stella McCartney and Julian Macdonald who both have their design studios nearby. Our current Prime Minister, David Cameron’s family home is just 3 streets away. This is a big flat, which occupies the upper half of a large town house in Notting Hill, and is spread over 3 floors –quite a lot of stairs! Once you have negotiated the stairs up to the first floor, cross the hallway and you are immediately into the huge, high ceilinged, light filled dining room, kitchen and through sitting room with TV, videos and books. Big sash windows look out over the square. On this floor are a small office, a loo with a view and a fully equipped utility room. A wide staircase takes you up to the next floor with 2 double bedrooms and a very small cot or suitcase room, and bathroom with power shower, whilst the 4th bedroom is up another shorter staircase and comes with a prize for climbing all those stairs - its own en-suite bathroom. The through sitting room on the first floor has a very comfortable double sofa bed and a curtain separates it from the dining room to make a fourth bedroom for large parties and there is another pull out bed in one of the bedrooms on the second floor. Because it is on a south-facing corner, the flat is very light filled and warm. I have lived here very happily for 15 years and hope to continue doing so but at the moment am taking some time in the country to study ceramics, hence its availability. I have left it comfortably furnished for you new bed linen and towels, books, DVDs, TV. Please do take note of the number of stairs. There are stair rails on all but small children who may be unfamiliar with the danger of staircases do need to be supervised. Local food shopping facilities are good. Apart from the vegetable stalls on the Portobello and Golborne Roads, there is a small supermarket on the way to the underground station, and a huge one a 5-minute walk or bus trip away. (walk there, bus or taxi back with the shopping!) Excellent transport links make it easy to get into the centre of London the underground is a 3minute walk away with trains direct to Paddington Station where the Heathrow Express goes direct to Heathrow airport. Frequent buses from Ladbroke Grove go direct to Oxford Street and the British Museum Piccadilly Knightsbridge and the museums of South Kensington, (V the City of London, Tate Modern, Trafalgar Square. There are excellent bus and underground links with Paddington Station and Victoria Station from here fast trains go direct to Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Also nearby is the Westfield London shopping complex (2 stops on the underground or a short bus ride) with 250 shops under one roof, cinema complex, bars etc. Thank you very much for your interest.
