The kitchen is equipped with an oven, refridgerator, microwave, coffee maker and all of the cooking and service wares you would need for those family meals. Both of the bedrooms in this cottage are each furnished with brand new, very comfortable queen size beds and have nice bedroom sets to make sure you have enough room to store your clothes and travel gear for a week or 3 months. Within a few miles of The Bungalow is the town of Flat Rock, home to the Flat Rock Playhouse (the North Carolina State Theater), and the Carl Sandburg Home. Carl Sandburg was Abraham Lincoln's biographer, a U.S. Poet Laureate and a well known musician and journalist. The Playhouse puts on Broadway plays to packed out audiences throughout most of the year. The Carl Sandburg Home is operated by the park service and has tours of the Home (which was left just as it was when he died), extensive walking trails and a running goat farm.
