Description:Visit the wonderful mountain town of Asheville and stay in a sweet cottage while doing so. Located in a residential neighborhood just minutes away from downtown, and walking distance to funky West Asheville. Asheville known for its art galleries, restaurants, and beauty, will give you a wonderful opportunity to explore the Blue Ridge Mountain area of North Carolina. I periodically have my home available when I travel, and feel you will enjoy your stay in this well loved home. I will be traveling Feb. 17-24 .There is a queen size bed in one bedroom, and a pull out single in a room used for office when not rented.It even comes with a friendly, yet independent kitty. The bedroom opens onto a screened porch, which is loveley to sit in during warm weather. The house is filled with lots of sunlight, and there is a fireplace to warm by in evening. The top floor has a master suite with king bed and full bath and a spacious great room with gas fireplace, kitchen & dining areas. The great room opens to a large screened porch, perfect for viewing, rocking, and outdoor eating. The patio just outside the screened porch has a gas grill. The lower level of Massey Cottage has a full bath and a half bath, a laundry room, and three bedrooms---one with a queen & two with two twins each. Description:Located 17 miles from Brevard, NC, Lake Toxaway is the largest private lake in NC. To see more information about this beautiful area go to www.laketoxaway.com This is a second home for us and, along with our family, we enjoy this wonderful retreat as often as we can. The home was designed and built (2003) with simplicity of style to maximize the lake front lot, is decorated throughout with both new and old pieces which we have gathered over the years and includes features which make such a place comfortable and practical. The combination Great Room, Dining and Kitchen are fully equipped, bed linens are furnished along with towels/cloths for bath and lake. Two bedrooms are on the main level with others on the second floor, some with direct lake views. A large open sun deck plus a screened porch with hot tub provide views of the lake and mountains. nWalk a few steps down to the dock where you can enjoy swimming, sun bathing, kayaking (2), fishing (with proper license) and if you like, a private boat can be rented from the marina and kept at the dock during your stay. The lake is all fresh water, fed by numerous mountain streams, and is always refreshing! n nLake Toxaway is located in the mountains of Western North Carolina, and as a private resort, has been a vacation and summer playground for the rich and famous such as Edison, Ford, DuPont, et al in the early 1900s, and in 1916 heavy rains caused the lake dam to fail. Reopened for new development beginning in the 1950s, families have built their private residences and second homes here, and enjoy an impressive array of amenities, many year 'round. Several thousand acres comprise the Lake Toxaway Estates, and only property owners are permitted access to the lake and environs. nWhen you want to shop, buy groceries, dine out or just browse, the town of Brevard is just 17 miles away, and the town of Cashiers (emphasis on first syllable)is just 13 miles. There are also 2-3 small locally operated cafes, hardware store and small shops very nearby on Hwy 64.
