Description:Asheville is such a wonderful place to visit! I love living here next to the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are amazing restaurants, microbreweries (we are the 1 beer city in the country), hiking, river sports, music scene, theater, eclectic shops, and so much more that you will absolutely fall in love with our beautiful town. When you stay in my home, you will truly experience the serenity of this country like setting and the convenience of being just 10 minutes from downtown. You will have your own bedroom with a queen bed with your own bathroom in my 3 bedroom 2 bath house. I have an open room to use for yoga, dance, tai chi, etc. Hardwood floors are throughout the home. There are 5 acres of woods in the back. There is no TV, but if you bring your laptop you can surf the web and watch movies. I'll provide some movies for you to choose from. A make it yourself breakfast is included in the price which consists of my farm fresh eggs, homemade muffins, homemade jam, fresh fruit, OJ, coffee and tea. I have a business that I run out of my home, so I'm here most all the time during the day. I love to meet people from other places and hear their stories if you'd like to share. I have chickens and an organic garden and the girls would be delighted to have you give them treats! I look forward to meeting you and sharing my space, Michelle... more info >>

Description:The Little Sister is a sweet, quiet, cozy apartment attached to our home in north Asheville, a short 5 minute drive from art infused downtown Asheville, and a 10 minute walk from the historic Grovepark Inn (spa treatments, glass of wine on their porch). The apartment has a back porch that overlooks our beautiful flower and vegetable garden (our guests can even enjoy the fruits of that if they like), and the neighborhood is wonderful for walking, biking and running. Beautiful Beaver Lake is short walk away, which is great for a walk, run or ride. We are happy to direct to hikes on the Blue Ridge Parkway and can tell you where to get supplies - we'll even lend you a backpack or cooler if you need it. Numerous restaurants, and stores are within walking distance so the location is quite convenient - there is even a brewery that shows $3 movies and serves great pizza within a 10 minute walk (Asheville Pizza). There is a fully equipped kitchen, wireless internet, satellite TV (even has DVR for recording your favorite shows), a comfortable queen size bed, and air conditioning. See more information on our own . If we can make your trip better in any way, we'll try. We don't typically offer breakfast, but we do supply coffee with cream and sugar. If you'd like us to pick up bagels, juice and fruit for your arrival, we'd be happy to do that for $15 for two people per day. If you like exciting bike rides, we can recommend a few for you - we even have one extra bike for your use. There are great rides from the apartment up Sunset Mountain - big climbs and fast ascents! The neighborhood is very popular for running and walking as well. To see more information and calendar go to our and look at the Little Sister.... more info >>

Description:This is a cute 100 year old bungalow in a good neighborhood an easy one mile walk to downtown Asheville. There is 1 bedroom with an antique double size bed, an office where I have an air mattress available and a very comfy sofa for sleeping in the living room. As this is a 100 year old house closet space is limited, but I have an antique wardrobe where you can hang your things. Also, there is only one bathroom with a tub/shower combination. I have a indoor/outdoor dog, Hershey who will not actually be here during your stay, but since she is a Labrador and prone to shedding, she might leave some of her fur behind. I also have an outdoor cat that I might ask you to put food in her bowl but as she isn't really a people cat, you probably won't see much of her. My home isn't fancy but it is filled with antiques and character. It isn't spotlessly clean, you might find a bit of fur fuzz or dust, but it is very comfortable and well loved.... more info >>

Description:Experience Asheville's premiere Montford Historic District in a completely private, quiet, spacious guest apartment. Located in a beautiful two story, owner-occupied home, the apartment is on the second floor on the left hand side of the house. The home is on a quiet side street and offers off-street parking and a safe and friendly neighborhood. RETURNING GUESTS RECEIVE DISCOUNTS! $90 OFF MONTHLY RENTAL AND $60 OFF WEEKLY RENTAL Enjoy the lovely back yard gardens and be entertained by my seven goofy chickens. I am happy to dispel any misconceptions you might have about roosters waking you up at 4 a.m. Roosters are not allowed in the city! My girls' coop is located in far away enough from the house that the only sound you might hear when the windows are open is their enthusiastic announcement of an egg for your morning omelet! Under a wide canopy of large trees enjoy a short walk to downtown. On your way you'll see historic homes built in the early 1900's and luxury bed and breakfasts like The Lion and The Rose and The Black Walnut Inn. Side walks still have some of the original bricks from the early 1900's. If you happen to be here on a Wednesday from April through November and decide to walk downtown for lunch, stop at the local farmer's market on the way back. It's located in the parking lot of the Chamber of Commerce. You'll find artisan goat cheese, pastries, music, fresh flowers and vegetables, all locally grown. Perhaps you'll stop in one of our two neighborhood pubs, Tod's Tasties Cafe and Nine Mile Cafe, which is just two blocks from the apartment. In the other direction, north, you'll find the Asheville Botanical Garden an easy walk. Each species of native vegetation is marked for easy identification. Enjoy the quaint gift shop. Adjacent to the Botanical Gardens is University of North Carolina's Asheville campus, often voted one of the best and most affordable small liberal arts college. The University is home to The North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement which operates The College for Seniors (you don't have to be a senior to attend classes). From the website, The North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement (NCCCR) is an award-winning, internationally-acclaimed learning community dedicated to promoting lifelong learning, leadership, community service, and research. Rolling Stone Magazine named Asheville's premiere music club, The Orange Peel, Number 5 on it's list of Top Music venues in the country. Ashevillian, Robert Moog, who invented the Moog synthesizer, left a giant legacy. Experience how his invention effected the music world in the Moog museum (easy walk) downtown and join others who journey from all over the world who attend the annual October Moogfest. More about the apartment.....The shower with claw foot tub has plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure. Amenities also include a top-quality queen-size bed, a fully equipped modern kitchen and bathroom, separate dining area, soft comfy furniture, high thread-count cotton linens. On site eco-considerations: organically raised chickens (NO ROOSTERS), rain barrels for water cachement, organic vegetable gardens, composting, and vermiculture (worms eat my garbage and provide me with their nutrient rich castings). More than two? Extra sleeping quarters are on the Living Room Futon. A padded topper is available for additional comfort. Warm and cozy tee shirt sheets are provided. Plenty of blankets and pillows. Secured Wi-fi connection is provided. A welcome basket of instant hot chocolate, herbal teas and FRESH EGGS awaits your arrival. Come see for yourself why Asheville has been called The Paris of the South. RETURNING GUESTS RECEIVE 10% OFF THE MONTHLY RATE. A savings of $90. RETURNING GUESTS RECEIVE 10% OFF THE WEEKLY RATE. Description:Experience Asheville's premiere Montford Historic District in a completely private, quiet, spacious guest apartment. Located in a beautiful two story, owner-occupied home, the apartment is on the ground floor on the right hand side of the house. The home is on a quiet side street and offers off-street parking and a safe and friendly neighborhood. On site eco-considerations: organically raised chickens (NO ROOSTERS), rain barrels for water cachement, organic vegetable gardens, composting, and vermiculture (worms eat my garbage and provide me with their nutrient rich castings). Enjoy the lovely back yard gardens and be entertained by my seven goofy chickens. Take a walk to downtown and along the way you'll see historic homes, several luxury bed and breakfasts like The Lion and The Rose and The Black Walnut Inn. Side walks still have some of the original bricks from the early 1900's. If you happen to be here on a Wednesday and decide to walk downtown for lunch, stop at the local farmer's market on the way back. It's located in the parking lot of the Chamber of Commerce. You'll find artisan goat cheese, pastries, fresh flowers and mouth watering vegetables, all locally grown. Perhaps you'll stop in one of our two neighborhood pubs, Tod's and Nine Mile Cafe, which is just two blocks from the apartment. In the other direction, you'll find the Asheville Botanical Garden an easy walk. Each species of native vegetation is marked for easy identification. Enjoy their quaint gift shop. Adjacent to the Botanical Gardens is University of North Carolina's Asheville campus. The apartment has Wi-Fi . A sunny large kitchen with dining table and chairs. Full size refrigerator and full size gas stove/oven. The shower has plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure. High count cotton bed linens and bath towels are provided. As a special treat, my girls happily provide a basket of fresh eggs for a morning breakfast omelet. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans/cooking utensils, wine glasses, toaster, and blender. I am a former professional chef and baking instructor (pastry chef at The Biltmore Estate) and so recommending great food is my passion. There's plenty to choose from here. I can tell you where Anthony Bourdain ate when he was here. Come see for yourself why Asheville has been called The Paris of the South and Trip Advisor lists Asheville on the Top 10 Destinations for Food and Wine. Have a spa experience and enjoy a restful yoga class and enjoy a late lunch ... all downtown and within walking distance. Recent guest remarks: We met Cathy when we rented her furnished apartment in Asheville for a month (August 2011). We immediately became great friends. The apartment was beautiful -- clean, light and open. She had thought of all the little details to make us completely comfortable during our stay, and the kitchen was the best outfitted of any short term furnished rental I have come across. Since I love to cook (and that's one of the reasons I use a furnished rental instead of motel/hotel options when I travel) this was really important to me. Chickens and an organic garden in the back yard in an area full of trees and greenery made an urban location feel like a country retreat. There was also a beautiful common sitting area in the back yard which was the locus of many a pleasant evening conversation or spontaneous potluck meal. We were close to downtown and to the University with its wonderful Saturday tailgate market. Perfect location and perfect hostess! We made a friend for life when we had the good fortune to rent this lovely place from Cathy! January 2012 guests from Winston-Salem: Cathy's house is a wonderful way to visit Asheville. Close walk to the downtown and a stone's throw from Montford Park. The apartment, moreover, is comfortable and quiet, with useful amenities and private bathroom. Spend some time with Cathy, too - she's a considerate host, puts her guests at ease. I bet we'll be back.... more info >>

Description:This spacious apartment is cozy and ideal for those who enjoy cooking, dancing and plenty of privacy. There is a full kitchen, open dining/living area , bedroom and bathroom. High speed wireless internet, conveinent parking. This century old house was in decline when we bought it 22 years ago. We have resurrected the splendor of the structure reclaiming original trim wood and flooring that was fashioned with virgin timber from this region in the Blue Ridge mountains. My husband, Tom, has done most of the renovation himself, incorporating his artistic flair and unusual floor plan designs. We have created private and common spaces in this roomy house. You will have options whether to spend time with other travelers or be on your own. We will most likely meet you during your stay as we come and go as needed and will be available by phone. Victoria has a working studio in the house that is independent of the rental spaces. She may be open for business during your stay if you would like to see her jewelry and Tom’s books, both of which would make great mementos of your stay here. Simply walk out the door, down the hill and experience Marshall, a truly unique mountain town. If you enjoy great coffee, food, live music, beer and wine, old-timey dry goods and hardware stores, beautiful local art ,imports from around the world, cool bicycles, awesome junk, seasonal weekly farmer's market, artist's studios and interesting special events- it's just a 5 minute walk! Look forward to meeting you!... more info >>
