Description:Asheville is such a wonderful place to visit! I love living here next to the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are amazing restaurants, microbreweries (we are the 1 beer city in the country), hiking, river sports, music scene, theater, eclectic shops, and so much more that you will absolutely fall in love with our beautiful town. When you stay in my home, you will truly experience the serenity of this country like setting and the convenience of being just 10 minutes from downtown. You will have your own bedroom with a futon in my 3 bedroom 2 bath house. There is a bathroom between your room and mine that we will share. I have an open room to use for yoga, dance, tai chi, etc. Hardwood floors are throughout the home. There are 5 acres of woods in the back with a fire pit that you're welcome to use. There's a fireplace in the living room if you'd like and I'll provide the wood. There is no TV, but if you bring your laptop you can surf the web and watch movies. I'll provide some movies for you to choose from. I have a business that I run out of my home, so I'm here most all the time during the day. I love to meet people from other places and hear their stories if you'd like to share. I have chickens and an organic garden and would be delighted to provide breakfast for you for $5 more per person. Description:A traditional brick colonial solidly built in 1925 situated in a pleasant, calm in town neighborhood with fabulous old oaks and plenty of strolling possibilities. 1.5 mile from downtown Asheville, and 0.8 mile from Biltmore Village and the entrance to the Biltmore House. The Blue Ridge Parkway is just minutes away. Mission Hospital is 0.5 mile away. Veterans Administration Hospital is 5 minutes away. The house is also available for monthly rentals. The house is tastefully decorated to provide you with a calm oasis very close to central Asheville, also know as the Paris of the South for its many cafes and European flavor. Internet and cable are provided with wifi throughout the house. A washer and dryer are available. Three comfortable bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Accomodate 6 people with The living room is bright casually elegant. There is a fireplace with gas logs for cozy ambiance. The bedrooms have plush mattresses. The master bedroom has a kig size bed. The middle bedroom has a queen and the third bedroom has two twin beds. All linens are provided. The bedrooms provide beautiful views of the trees and distant mountains can be seen from the front bedroom through the leaves. They are very bright and airy and perfect for napping, sleeping, or reading quietly. Ceiling fans are provided in each room of the house. There is a private deck with a view of the back garden. Patio furniture is provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove and oven and refrigerator, but it is a country kitchen meaning that it is not super modern (no diswasher or disposal). We provide recycling bins and encourage you to use them.We also compost vegetable material. There are pots and pans and cutlery provided. If you have special needs, let us know and we will try to accomodate. We live very close by. The dining room table has two leaves for expansion and seats 6 people. The main bathroom has a tub and shower with a rain showerhead and small heating fan. The second batyroom provides a toilet and sink. A washer and dryer are provided for your use. They are located in the basement. The heat is radiated steam heat. Perfect and even throughout the house. We suggest you turn the thermostat down in the evening for cooler sleeping. Heat from the bottom floor will rise up into the bedrooms throughout the evening. The floors are oak wood tongue and groove (newly finished on the bottom floor). Description:We have been hosting our friends and family here for twenty years. Now you can stay here too! You will enjoy sitting in front of the fireplace or on the deck with a glass of wine after a nice dinner. The house has two bedrooms, each with a full bathroom. The dining room seats six comfortably. One bedroom has a queen bed, and the other has twin beds. A sleeper sofa in the living room enables sleeping accommodations for up to six people. The full kitchen has natural cabinets, a gas stove, and granite counter tops. Folks used to take the train to Hendersonville and then ride the dummy to Rainbow Lake. From there they rode the Swiss Cog Railway up our mountain for the expansive view looking down on Hendersonville and out to Bearwallow Mountain. Some of them built houses here and started the small resort town of Laurel Park. You can stay here too and enjoy the same view as you take a walk on the quiet (almost level) loop where the house is located. You can also go to the top of the mountain for a spectacular view from Jump Off Rock. For nearby shopping and dining, downtown Hendersonville is less than five minutes away. The Sandburg House and Flat Rock Playhouse are in Flat Rock, just ten minutes away. You are forty minutes away from Asheville, where you can visit the Biltmore House, eat in world-class restaurants, and shop in art galleries. For sightseeing there’s the duPont State Forest with High Falls, Triple Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Hooker Falls. The Blue Ridge Parkway is easily accessible. Description:Built in 1925 by a local builder. He lived in the house for many years and alos built the house across the street. The house is 732 square feet with one bed room, kitchen,bath,living room and small office. Private parking, full covered deck, basement. View of the mountains and the French Broad river. Close to downtown, 1-26 and I-240 and the university of North Carolina-Asheville. Full sized washer and dryer in kitchen. The bath has a tub with shower. IN the summer we use window air conditioning units on the hot days, the rest of the time, I love to have the breezes blowing through the open windows. The street is off of an industrial area, but very quiet, the house is at the end of the road and there are only 2 houses on the street. The covered deck is a great place for a cup of tea and to enjoy the mountain views. I would call this house cozy.I have satellite TV with Direct TV so you will have many options as well as wireless or wired internet. It's is so close to all the great restaurants and entertainment in downtown Asheville yet you can pop in I-26 or I-40 and head to areas like Black Mountain or Hendersonville each less than 20 miles away. Sad to say we are not on the bus line, so you would need a car to get around. Accessible to handicapped there is only one tiny step to the front door and the rest of the house is all on one level.... more info >>
