Description:I have a modern house in a quiet neighboorhoud along a canal where are passing boats, kayaks, ducks and other birds. 5-10 min walk to city center. If you like I can give you a guided tour of Mechelen which is worth a visit: medieval houses, nice shopping, good pubs, etc. You can explore other Belgian cities from my place. 5 min walk to the main station. 17 min by train to Brussels Central Station, 16 min to Antwerp Central Station, 44 min – Gent, 78 min to Brugge, 22 min to Leuven. The trains in Belgium are comfortable, so no need to rent a car. There is a direct train from Amsterdam Centr or Amsterdam Schiphol (airport) to Mechelen, every hour. My house is a nice spot for starting your cycling tour along different canals. I have some old but still good bicycles you can use. Near to swimming pool and I can show you interesting running tours. There is Wifi in the house. If you can't bring your own computer you can use mine. Also television (Dutch and French spoken) and DVD. Parking space is in front of the door (only the first 15 min are for free) or 500 m further it's for free. If your car is not too big you can fit it in my garage which you can use for free. Description:Located south in Haarlem and within walking distance to busstation, large park, shopping mall, fitness centre and many independent bicycle lanes (bicycle available) for comfort and culture and good infrastructure to everywhere in the country. The entire house is available to you when you select this property. The apartment has a large bedroom, large kitchen, separate fully equipped office, large living room and large balcony with sun on the 2nd half of the day. You can also make use of all the amenities provided, including the central heating, a fully-equipped kitchen, dishwasher, WiFi, SONOS sound system in living room and kitchen, washing machine, printer & further office equipment, my bicycle (extra bicycles can be provided) and I will leave typical Dutch food in the freezer to enjoy (or just try). On the lovely balcony a BBQ can be used. Parking is available at the front of the building and always enough space. Haarlem is a beautiful cobble-stoned city and from the busstop it is 17 minutes to Schiphol, 7 minutes to downtown Haarlem, to popular Zandvoort beach 30 minutes and 25 minutes to Amsterdam Central. I will provide the convenient travel card with a little charge (please add on as you use). Better than taking the public transport is going by bicycle, from the apartment many locations as the beach, dunes, lakes, and cultural locations can be reached by roads only for bicycle. About Haarlem, located on the banks of the Spaarne river, this relaxed city is full of picturesque canals, a maze of narrow streets, hidden gardens and many of the best dutch museums. A 12 minute bicycle trip aside the Spaarne river will lead you downtown to ‘Kleine Houtstraat’, a pretty boutique shopping street voted to be the best in the Netherlands many times. The city also boasts many great restaurants and bars and this historical beer-brewing centre has a lively culture and active nightlife. The local Haarlem beer brand with unique taste, Jopen, is brewed in a well-renovated church where you can enjoy the different flavours. Naarden Vesting is a monumental and historic vesting village near Amsterdam (15 min. drive) which is surrounded in with water to protect the village in ancient times. It is an unique place in the Netherlands for culture an near the Gooi lake as a nature monument where you can sail, kitesurf (Gooi meer), play golf (Naarder golfclub), biking or just for making nice walks. It is also the homebase of one of Hollands' most famous Dutch interior Designers Jan des Bouvrie with the historic Arsenaal to expose and sell his work. It has it all: museums, a fort, many restaurants (from modern, top, to simple and classic), design, shops and a lovely saturday market. And on one hand a small village surrounded by nature.. That is probably why it has been rated as one of the best places to live in in The Netherlands. For more information: @ Saturdays there is a market with fresh fish, delicious nuts, flowers and Dutch English pies which we would recommend! There is a Coffee company at 5 min. walk which is lovely and relaxing.. On a sunny day you can sit on the terrace main street of the village. It is free and easy to park a car. Blaricum is the number 1 or 2 place to live in The Netherlands, with many restaurants, spacious neighborhood, hospital, and well positioned, also it is superb to go cycling or walking.The public transport is no good, we should think you would need a car.
