Description:Hello all, Thank you for considering me as your host. I work during the week so please contact me before booking a reservation with information about your arrival time, and how many guests are in your party. In general arrivals during the day are inconvenient for me but in most cases I can make arrangements. I will decline reservations without this information. My rental is a temporary roommate rental. The neighborhood is residential and quiet, there is a bus about 2 blocks away from the house. The trip to the nearest subway is 20 minutes and the trip to Manhattan is about 40 minutes. I have two indoors only cats. My cats are used to run of the house and are curious and friendly. If you're unused to cats, allergic or afraid of cats you might not be comfortable staying with us. The nightly rate includes bath towels and bedclothes, (linen,blanket/comforter) wireless internet access, kitchen use ( microwave, toaster, stove, coffeemaker, cutlery, flatware, drink ware). With plenty of space to relax, sit and enjoy staying at home, this room is ideal for 1 person wishing to stay in a great neighborhood, with quick access to Manhattan. The subway is 1 block away R train at Prospect Ave stop. 35 minutes ride to Times Square / Midtown The bedroom is small but cozy with all needed for a nice stay. Clothes cabinet Laptop station to work in the bedroom. Fresh decor, with giant poster. All linens are furnished: bed sheets, conforter and a towell. This is a box bedroom, window gives on the living room. The shared amenities include a separate and fully furnished kitchen, a dining area, a lounge area. The apartment is very sunny all day with 2 exposure: East and West, Sun in the bedroom in the morning and in the lounge all afternoon. You can enjoy a great view: Sunset on the Statue of Liberty and view on Downtown Manhattan. The apt is the entire 3rd and last floor of classic Brooklyn brownstone. There is only 2 apartments in the building, including this one. The building is old and not fancy at all, but the apartment is very nice and well maintained. The entire place has been completely renovated February 2012, after previous guests trashed it, which lead to complety redo the place and impose stricter house rules. Renovations on February 2012 include: New furnitures, new paint, new beds, new tiles on floor, bathroom and kitchen, new linens for all rooms. Please read the house rules. A cleaning schedule is define and every roommate must participate in the process: cleaning the shared space once a month. (each roommate clean once a month = cleaning every week done by one roommate) Utilities included: Gas, electric, water, internet wifi, heat ... There is a $35/month fee for Air conditioning (installed on demand) About the neighborhood: The subway is 1 block away There is a supermarket across the street from the apartment. Open 24 hours: 2 diners, 2 pharmacies, 2 delis. plenty of bars, live music. Prospect Park is 3 blocks away. The Pavillion movie theatre is 3 blocks away. Description:This beautiful sunny room is in a private apartment on the ground floor with a shared bath (I will accommodate your schedule.) The room is at one end of the apartment and feels quite private, as I spend more time in rooms down the hall. The walls are so thick that I rarely hear my guests and they say they don't hear me either! This room sleeps 2 and is furnished with very comfortable queen sized bed, coffee maker and small refrigerator. WiFi is also included. Use of the kitchen is not included. Since we are on the ground floor, there is some typical street noise of people passing by and in the summer it can be lively on the weekends. But my guests have told me that they have found it quiet and peaceful. I have a small rabbit that lives here, Jenny, but he does not go into the part of the apartment where the guest room is located and so far, though I have had guests with allergies, they have not had any trouble or reactions to Jenny. The apartment is centrally located very close to 4 major subway lines,(20 minutes to midtown) 9 blocks from Central Park and 4 blocks from all of Harlem's most famous attractions: The Apollo Theater, The Studio Museum of Harlem, and the Abyssinian Baptist Church (a little further north, on 138th street.) The neighborhood has great shopping, restaurants and several charming cafes nearby. Please see my guidebook for more information on local places to eat . I have lived in Harlem for 10 years and I have found it to be safe, and that's saying a lot, as I walk around by myself at all hours and use the subway late at night. My guests have found the neighborhood to be friendly and have had positive experiences staying here.
