In the mid 1700s, Scottish, English and Irish farmers settled the mountains and fertile river valleys. The original settlers’ cabins and Cherokee villages have long since vanished, replaced over time by quaint towns and hamlets sprinkled throughout the valleys and in the various hollows of the surrounding mountains.This land was heavily mined from the mid 1800s through the mid 1900s for mica, feldspar, lithium and other minerals. It is a short 40 min. drive to Asheville. Wooden floors throughout except laundry room and bathroom. Wood stove in fireplace for those cool nights. Baseboard electric heat is also available for use. Pets are welcome, just please clean up after them. **This is a smoke free home. Master bedroom has a queen bed. Second bedroom has one twin bed and a twin blow up mattress (if needed) All natural cleaners and soaps are used in this home. Organic blackberries, mint, and concord grapes are in the yard when in season.
