Description:The MaxiRenella Historic Nobleman's Loft Welcome to One of Rome's Ultimate Homesteads Selected by the airbnb staff who stayed and filmed here for the upcoming airbnb hosting in Rome video. A very large 3 Bedroom-3 bathroom Roman LOFT with eat-out terraces near all the sights. CAN BE EXPANDED to 4 BEDROOMS/4BATHROOMS by combining with adjacent flat http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/82169. Total of 3 eat out terraces. Centuries ago, a Roman Nobleman commissioned the building with majestically high wooden rafter ceilings and steps from his personal apartment on the second floor - known as the piano nobile - leading down to the horse stables below (now the wine cellar). The original wooden beams and arches are still there today and the place has a theatrical feel to it - it begs you to invite friends over to share in the feeling of history. The Renella Nobleman's Loft: * Near Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere - easily walk to everything in historic Rome - benefit from Rome's most charming restaurant and artisan area. It has been so since 185BC. * You are surrounded by hundreds of great restaurants and bars - just meters away from our quiet street. The best bread in Rome is baked 50 feet away. * Huge 25 foot ceilings of original wood rafters - Roman Arches * Cotto Floors - the same family in Naples still bakes them! * Very comfortable living room area w/ large couches, high end music system * Large Screen Plasma TV for PC hook over Fireplace - also high end stereo for PC hook up. Your PC/Mac/Ipad plugs in right at the couch. There's an ipod dock there too * Home gym with running and cycling TechnoGym machines. Yoga instructor on call. * Eat-out Terrace - Stone table with seating for 6 . * Designer Kitchen - washer/dryer/dishwasher/toaster/coffee/German Stove with BBQ * Air Conditioining *3 bedrooms - all with own ensuite bathroom/shower add the adjacent pad for 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. * Total of 6 beds available for a max of 9 people. Rent our 1BR next door to add more! * Courtesy Bikes,WIFI etc. * Our family has been in Rome for zonks and can thus recommend all sorts of activiities lead by those we know very well: Yoga by a Patricia Walden certified instructor, Italian cooking classes with a well known Italian cooking blogger, fitness in your own home, skip the line Vatican tours etc etc. We try hard to please. Please see the reviews. The real difference between this and a hotel is 1) HEAPS more space 2) A REAL kitchen - approved by a top NY chef that visited recently 3) This has been the real home of a Roman for centuries 4) You are the ONLY valued guests - we treat you as such! The owner Martin will answer your questions before and during your stay. I mean REALLY assist you. If you want blow by blow help as you plan and enjoy Rome, we can be there for you. If you want complete privacy and no communication as you get away form email etc for a while that's great too. See the reviews.... BOOKED UP? Never fear! I have a rival Roman Jewel that is probably free: http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/230555 Why do I say it's Historic? Well the building probably dates from the 1600s but it was built on top of ruins from far before. Last week, we scratched into the terrace wall and found a Roman Arch buried inside! I posted pics here at Airbnb. Now it is not every day that you have to call in the archeologists when you are making a coffee corner on your terrace! No Wonder Rome's subway has taken decades for a few miles... Please have a look at the pics!... more info >>

Description:This is a wonderful, romantic Roman penthouse - conjured up in an ancient building in one of Rome's great piazzas by a top Roman architect. He played with the curves and created a tower penthouse jewel over Rome with a very large eat-out terrace and views of St. Peter's and the roofs of ancient Rome. It has that wow factor that only an ancient Roman place combined with modern interior design can give you. It has two bedrooms. Plus a snug alcove which can be improvised as a third bedroom. One of the ensuite bathrooms has two entrances so it works fine. From the master bedroom you have a view of one of the 7 hills of Rome - the very green Aventino (one of the more fashionable and upscale places to live in Rome). The master boasts a large jacuzzi bath, a plasma TV, and original beamed ceilings. The second bedroom can fit two beds or a double bed as you prefer. There's an ensuite bathroom with a decent shower and easy access to the roof top garden. Other features offered by Mercanti: * Full modern kitchen on the bottom floor * Kitchenette with fridge, toaster, coffee machine etc on the roof top garden. * Air conditioning & independent heating everywhere * Huge eat-out, BBQ Terrace with great views of ancient Rome * Guide available for to tell you about all the monuments you see from your roof! * Plasma TVs * Fireplace * Original Wood Rafter Ceilings * Elevator to the top floor * Beautifully elegant marble entrance * View of the green Aventine hills from the master bedroom * 2nd smaller double bedroom with queen bed (or a single) and own bathroom * Washing machine * Roman Cotto Floors Piazza Mercanti is one of the most well-known piazza's in Rome - home of Taverna Mercanti, home to top Italian singer Venditi (he owns the building next door), and the very beautiful Cathedral of Santa Cecilia. This is the quieter side of Trastevere. Windy cobble stone streets just as the Northern side of Rome's entertainment/ancient slave district, but there are no huge crowds here. Lots of pubs, restaurants etc within a minute walk but you'll have a quieter experience than at my other two places in Rome. You will feel the very special nature of this place - it is an architect's jewel - overlooking the eternal city. I offer 3 apartments in Rome - see my other listings. This one is new to airbnb as I just got it back from the long term tenant. I have tried to put together lots of info for my guests and collected some activities run by friends& friends that I know are A . From valet parking, to Italian cooking classes chez you, Yoga by a US certified instructor, catered breakfast with local ingredients on your terrace - ready for when you wake up, skip-the-queue Vatican tours, etc. When you book, I send you an informal list of tips about Rome and your planning info. I like to think you are making your vacation better/easier by coming to stay with us.... more info >>
